Authoritarians Link Soda Pop to Mass Death
Enjoy a cold Coke on a hot day while you can. Like so much else that Americans used to take for granted, soda will soon be illegal. It isn’t just a personal campaign by the micromanaging tyrant Michael Bloomberg. The mainstream media is laying the groundwork for a nationwide ban — or the sort of prohibitive punitive taxation we see on cigarettes. As always, The Experts testify that our freedom must be abridged because it is bad for us:
Sugar-sweetened beverages are linked to more than 180,000 obesity-related deaths worldwide each year, according to new research presented this week at an American Heart Association conference.
“This means about one in every 100 deaths from obesity-related diseases is caused by drinking sugary beverages,” says study author Gitanjali Singh, a postdoctoral research fellow at the Harvard School of Public Health.
The USA ranks third in deaths caused by these sinister sugary drinks, whose manufacturers are said to earn profits. A shocking 100% of those killed had once been innocent children.
Anyone familiar with how this game works understands that if the liberal agenda calls for it, the axis formed by the establishment media and government grant–dependent Experts will convince gullible fools that the color orange kills millions per year, that the letter q is unfair to blacks, that Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia — or even that “soda boosts violence among teens.”

180K per year globally? Only 1% of obesity related deaths? Even if true, that doesn’t sound like a very big problem. Overall, I suspect every other source of food and nutrition ranks higher (except celery–no one gets fat from eating that). Also, all the fat people I have seen are washing their Twinkies down with Diet soda, not Sugar-sweetened soda.
I have a better option, instead of sodas ban gay fat lesbians and those who study them.
I have a solution to all of this. I can link every death around the world to breathing air and drinking water. There must be a connection, no matter how small. Just ban air and water – problem solved! If we can just save one child from dying from breathing air or drinking water, it will be worth it. Just think of it – no more deaths (once the policy is in place for about 5-10 minutes).

I don’t want to ban anything, but the ammount of sugary drinks consumed has exploded since I was a teenager when the Big-Gulp came out. It used to be that bottles of soda were 7oz and an adult maybe had a few a week and kids had to share. And you used to have to squeeze your own orange juice, and it took a lot just to get a small glass. Now people drink gigantic sodas and tall glasses of juice, or whole bottles, w/o even thinking about it.
If people just thought about what they were doing, they would drink less sugary sodas (try Coke with Splenda – it’s good), and pour small glasses of juice, and drink a lot more water, and they would’t all be fat bastards.
Just make people responsible for their own actions. If they want to do stupid and unhealthy things, then let them. Just don’t take responsibility for them when they screw up. That way you don’t have to try and regulate everything a person does. But I guess there’s not much fun in that for a big government politician. <_<
On a related note, CVS is demanding employees provide height-weight-body fat index “and other personal information” for health insurance (read: Obamacare) purposes.
I’ve very interested to see how this affects mainstream business hiring practices and I think we can anticipate discrimination lawsuits galore.
