Although the exact number of his own people he killed will never be known, Mao Zedong is history’s undisputed leader among genocidal tyrants in terms of body count, making him arguably the most evil man who ever lived. Mao is also noteworthy in that former Obama Communications Director Anita Dunn considers him one of her two favorite political philosophers. Dunn has moved on now, but adoration for Mao lives on in the administration. Friday’s quote of day at the Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics website:
“Our attitude towards ourselves should be ‘to be satiable in learning’ and towards others ‘to be tireless in teaching.’”
The quote is from Chairman Mao.
After the general public had become aware of the quote, it was pulled and replaced with the message, “Sorry there is no quote of the of day today.” Someone in the government must realize that it is still premature to expect the population to share the federal bureaucracy’s reverence for communist dictators.
