How FDR Prolonged the Depression

Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. We will never be economically secure until we tear down the lie that FDR’s demented policies ended the Great Depression, when in reality they prolonged it unnecessarily. Lee Ohanian, Professor of Economics at UCLA, explains on behalf of Prager University:

Authoritarian masterminds never know best, no matter how pointy the heads of their advisors. The path to prosperity is to let the free market work.

On a tip from The Only Other Conservative in Seattle.

  • WAR is the answer

    WWII ended the depression.

UCLA? UCLA?!?! This guy better sleep with one eye open from now on. We all know how “tolerant” the average left-wingnuts are…

  • Tchhht!!!

Liberals will just pass this off as conservative propaganda. They simply are not capable of seeing any truth that doesn’t fit their narrative.

I knew I had heard that Ohanian name before…

The following had the tards and progressives whining and running for cover…

UCLA press releaste dated August 10, 2004: FDR’s policies prolonged Depression by 7 years, UCLA economists calculate

Two UCLA economists say they have figured out why the Great Depression dragged on for almost 15 years, and they blame a suspect previously thought to be beyond reproach: President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

After scrutinizing Roosevelt’s record for four years, Harold L. Cole and Lee E. Ohanian conclude in a new study that New Deal policies signed into law 71 years ago thwarted economic recovery for seven long years‘…

  • Ghost of FA Hayek

The inability of Keynesians to face economic reality has continued to float into the abyss ever since
The most widely used university textbook in economics, written by Nobel-prize winner Paul Samuelson, repeatedly predicted the coming economic dominance of the Soviet Union. In the 1961 edition, Samuelson predicted that the Soviet national income would overtake that of the United States possibly by 1984, but probably by 1997.

FDR “deliberately” got us into WWII even though the overwhelming majority of Americans opposed it. He saw it as the best way out of the depression, and to help his fellow commies in the USSR.

HOW MUCH DID FDR KNOW ABOUT pearl harbor BEFORE IT HAPPNED?

FDR instigated the attack by the Japs. He really wanted a reason to go to war against Germany, which Hitler gave him by declaring war against the US. FDR wanted to see the dissolution of the British Empire, the price of our entry into WWII. He also wanted to be on the side of Stalin. The American gov’t was rancid with communists who feared Stalin’s defeat (this was 1941 and the Wehrmacht was at the gates of Moscow) and FDR himself was sympathetic to ‘Uncle Joe’.
