San Antonio May Impose Anti-Christian Viewpoint Discrimination

Homosexuals constitute a tiny fragment of the population, and in a morally degenerating culture, have very little to complain about. Why is their agenda suddenly such an urgent priority for the leftists running the government and media? Because as community organizers like to say, the issue is never the issue. The “gay rights” jihad isn’t about perverted sexual practices; it is about the power to impose an ideology by government force. It is also about crushing Christianity, a traditional bulwark against the tyranny of statism. For example, San Antonio bureauweenies have proposed a new ordinance:

“No person shall be appointed to a position if the city council finds that such person has, prior to such proposed appointment, engaged in discrimination or demonstrated a bias, by word or deed, against any person, group or organization on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, age or disability.”

This means that no one who stands accused of ever having failed to revere homosexuality can hold public office or get a city contract in San Antonio, the nation’s seventh largest city. Among the ramifications:

Critics argue that the ordinance could ban Christians who believe homosexuality is a sin from serving on the city council.

They also believe the ordinance would also ban the city from doing business with anyone who fails to espouse politically correct views and businesses run by people of faith would be subject to criminal penalties if they refused to provide services that conflict with their religious beliefs related to homosexuality.

As Ken Klukowski of the Family Research Council observes,

“If it’s passed, any person who has either expressed any belief in favor of traditional marriage or in terms of Judeo-Christian morality regarding sexuality in general, verbally or in writing, could be barred from participating in public life on that city council.”

This totalitarian viewpoint discrimination is being pushed by Mayor Julian Castro and Councilkook Diego Bernal.

San Antonio is famous as the home of the Alamo, where legendary heroes William Travis, Davy Crockett, and Jim Bowie fought to the death for American values against the Mexican tyrant Santa Anna. Where are the heroes to defend freedom now?

On tips from G. Fox and Wiggins.

Does that mean that Muslims will banned from serving on city councils? After all, Islam is violently opposed to homosexuality.

  • Smokey Behr

If SA actually passes this, the 1A lawsuits are going to be lined up around the block.

“Then, I call on you in the name of liberty, of patriotism and everything dear to the American character, to come to our aid, with all dispatch.”WBT.

Let’s seem them impose this legal requirement on members of the MUSLIM COMMUNITY first.

Perhaps San Antonio should change the name to “Holy Homo”.

Actually it was one ‘moonbat’ that proposed this – but the mere fact that the city council would even consider it condemns all of them. And it really goes beyond what is pointed out in the article – if a person (or corporation) can be shown to have EVER made a disparaging (in any way) comment about one of the cited groups, they are effectively disbarred from serving the city in any capacity. That ‘moonbat’ who proposed this MAY have had honorable intentions but he certainly did NOT think this through to its logical conclusions. IOW – NOBODY is that perfect as to have never done what he is trying to prohibit.

This is where the NSA is going to come in really handy for the enemy. There is no one who will be able to withstand the scrutiny. Some people say that they have nothing to hide, but they’re wrong. We all have something that we wouldn’t want to be made public or used against us when seeking employment, healthcare, government benefits, dealing with the IRS, defending ourselves against a corrupt judicial system or dishonest law enforcement, divorce proceedings, etc.

Obama has been using this tactic of blackmailing people, by threatening to reveal their secrets since day one. That’s how he got Obamacare passed. That’s why we have so many RINO traitors, like McCain, Boehner, Rubio, and Grahamnasty.

I’m wondering if Michele Bachmann has been threatened in this way and that’s why she’s defending the NSA. Perhaps someone has some dirt on her husband. I think it’s either that, or she received a big payoff to support this hideous intrusion on our constitutional rights. There’s no way that our elected officials should be doing these things in secret, when we the people are so much against them.

  • “You almost can’t blame the tolerance mob in San Antonio from attempting such outright anti-Christian bigotry. After all, they were simply following the lead of the U.S. Supreme Court, who said the only reason to support marriage and morality was to “demean” those ensnared by homosexuality. Furthermore, SCOTUS wrote that if you believe the Bible you’re essentially an “enemy of the human race” whose only intent is to “impose a stigma” on homosexuality as ‘unworthy.'”

  • Rotohammer

It’s absurd on its face. You can’t please everybody in that list at the same time. An atheist who claims there is no god has just demonstrated a bias against religion. Can’t hire them. Same goes for a homosexual who complains about religious proscriptions against homosexuality.

This is like my company’s affirmative action policy: we will promote the hiring of women and minorities while hiring without regard to gender or race.

Also a magnificent excuse to break people,s carreers. Remember Paula? “You’ve said “nigger” 30 years ago, your carreer is now over.

Now let’s say “Someone heard you say nigger last year. Sorry, can’t tell you who did either, that’s confidential.”

Impossible to defend, guaranteed to wreck.

Hey Texans, WTF has happened to the Great State of Texas? Y’all have your tools of the 2nd Amendment, so get them ready.

    Y’all gonna need them.

  • Bo Jangles

Well, i’ve heard that only steers and queers come from Mexas. Apparently it’s true.

  • Flu-Bird

They need a natural disaster to total shake up their rainbow freakos

  • wingmann

    Jodie,you read my mind.

  • The law itself is discriminatory so it nullifies itself and those who would abide by it.

  • gordo

Well, luckily San Antonio and Austin do not represent real Texans any more than skunks represent mountain lions. The big cities are always where most of the poor reside, because it is really the only place they can survive on the dole. Out in west Texas, they would just starve. The libs always congregate in the big cities because their gimme power base is located there. Yet another reason Obama wants us to be poor. So we can be under the government’s big thumb. Well, this Texan says thanks but no thanks. None of my vacation money will be spent in a city that outlaws free speech. We worked too hard to keep it.

  • Alan

“Does that mean that Muslims will banned from serving on city councils?”

  • grayjohn

LMAO! So they want a gay government…but wait, gays are also disqualified because they call each other fags and queers, and don’t forget the Breeders they like to insult. Hell, Christians treat gays better than they treat each other.
