Free $21,000 Eco-Cars, Compliments of the Taxpayer

Big Government has tried repeatedly to promote eco-friendly vehicles. It hasn’t helped that for the most part only posturing moonbats with more money than they know what to do with have any use for these overpriced, underpowered deathtraps. But there is one group other than Hollyweird actors willing to drive them — people so broke they will take whatever they can get. Of course, given how expensive the cars are, someone else has to be forced to pay for the them…

The California Air Resources Board is now embarking on a program that would help poor people buy energy-efficient vehicles. In one scenario posed by the agency, a “voucher” might even pay the full price for a Nissan Leaf, an electric car with an MSRP above $21,000, or for used cars with lower price tags.

The objective of handing out free $21,000 moonbatmobiles at taxpayer expense is not only to save the flourishing polar bears from the imaginary global warming menace, but to promote “transportation justice.” Yes, the Marxist bureauweenies behind the idea actually use that term.

The liberal looting spree won’t stop until America has been completely exsanguinated.

Nissan Leaf
Avoid employment and you could have one for free.

If they made a sporty one that went faster than 40mph and didn’t cost $50,000 people might buy one. (not really)

    QUOTABLE QUOTES

“The O-man, Barack Hussein Obama, is an eloquently tailored empty suit. No resume, no accomplishments, no experience, no original ideas, no understanding of how the economy works, no understanding of how the world works, no balls, nothing but abstract, empty rhetoric devoid of real substance.

He has no real identity. He is half-white, which he rejects. The rest of him is mostly Arab, which he hides but is disclosed by his non-African Arabic surname and his Arabic first and middle names as a way to triply proclaim his Arabic parentage to people in Kenya . Only a small part of him is African Black from his Luo grandmother, which he pretends he is exclusively.

What he isn’t, not a genetic drop of, is ‘African-American,’ the descendant of enslaved Africans brought to America chained in slave ships. He hasn’t a single ancestor who was a slave. Instead, his Arab ancestors were slave owners. Slave-trading was the main Arab business in East Africa for centuries until the British ended it.

Let that sink in: Obama is not the descendant of slaves, he is the descendant of slave owners. Thus he makes the perfect Liberal Messiah…” – Dr. Jack Wheeler

  • Tchhht!!!

Well, at least one can’t say: “Boy, those are so bad you can’t even give them away.”

  • F.D.R. in Hell

Give all of them Chevy Volts. Poverty problem solved.

  • RockThisTown

Hey Tchhht- I’d take one of those golf carts if I could get a full-price voucher, but that’s the only way I’d get one. So, yes they’re not so bad they can’t be given away . . . . but they are so bad they won’t be bought.

  • B. Hussien Da Da, President for Life

“…and, I shall call it ObamaCar!”

  • Doug

Let’s hope one of those “poor people” fills one of those moonbat mobiles with C4 to the gills and drives through the gates at 1600 Penn Ave right into the Oral Orifice wihile Dumbo has his legs propped up on the desk.

  • Buffalobob

Great idea from the people who brought you obamascam. Give them away to people who can’t afford them, maintain them, understand the concept of recharging. These cars? will end up like so many grocery shopping carts used once and then discarded in a ditch. The gov. will then create a new bureaucracy to find and retrieve these cars and take them to a distribution point for reissue.

  • Rotohammer

I suppose it could work for CA to introduce a massive new demand for electric power. It’s not like the state has ever had a problem keeping up with demand for electricity, right?

  • Mr. Rational

Look at the bright side:  the folks who get those things won’t be giving any money to OPEC.

  • ML/NJ

Would I still be an honest citizen if I slashed the tires of such cars when the opportunity presents itself?

  • Internet High Five

@ A.Levy Epic win comment is chock full of epic WIN.

  • Spurwing Plover

I know of two eco-freindly cars the one from THE FLINTSTONES just use your feet and the one from GILLIGANS ISLAND its made from biodegrabible material and its totaly peddle powered

  • William Carr

I’m going to go out on a limb here, and guess that none of these comments came from people that actually READ the original article.

See, it’s about persuading people with rustbuckets to turn them in for scrap and buy something a bit newer that will pollute less.

The real subsidy will be maybe $1,500.

That will, if the program even gets started, stimulate the Economy in the poorer areas where the worst rustbuckets are.

The “Electric Car” spin was of course the worst-case scenario a conservative could imagine, speciously mined out of the estimates the agency ran.

Really, no electric cars are being given away, and there are no plans to do so.

And the cost? $1 when a Californian renews his vehicle Registration.

The problem here, is that Conservatives don’t understand Demand Side Economics.

They’ve been crippled with Supply Side Economics for three decades, and they think it’s SUPPOSED to suck, and then Crash the Economy eight years after you cut taxes on the Rich.

1929, 1987, 2008… always seven to eight years after cutting taxes on the most wealthy.

But to them, that’s okay; the Billionaires get very RICH during a Crash.

    But a single $1 extra on a vehicle registration… that’s Socialism !

  • William Carr

    @ Buffalobob:

Isn’t it funny how you bought into the hoax, then built on it, imagining the Poor people unable to figure out how to plug in an electric car ?

    Oh, I’m not laughing.

No, actually this is the OTHER meaning of “funny”.

    Sorry for the confusion.

  • KHarn

    “William Carr says:December 2, 2013 at 2:32 pm”

None of your claims can be proven.

  • K Haynes

Giving them a car will be a complete waste of resources. The first time it breaks down or needs tires they will put it up on blocks. They would only be happy if you include all repairs, gas and oil.

  • Doug

“William Carr” is a retard. And you don’t have to read the article to figure that one put.

  • Veritas

Every people gets the government it deserves. If we didn’t deserve this bunch of vampires then where is the evidence we deserve better.

    Why work?

  • Momster

What on earth does a non-worker (generally someone who has no intention of EVER being employed) need a full time car for? Certainly not to get to work–or even look for work! There could be a (very) small fleet of such cars donated to a welfare housing development to be used for a strictly allotted number of hours per month in order to buy groceries or get to a doctor’s appointment. On the other hand–that’s what busses and taxi’s are for.

Other than that I don’t see the point in giving the terminally lazy cars to tool around in all hours of the day and night while we, the productive sheep, are busy working to pay for all this crap.

  • Momster

Somewhere out in lib/prog/commie land someone just had a thrill up his leg.
