Most British Labour Voters Would Impose Taxes Purely Out of Malice

For insight into the moral horror that is moonbattery, consider this graph:

british-punitive-taxation-support

Here’s the legend: Con = Conservative Party (Tories); Lab = Labour (equivalent to USA’s Democrat Party); Lib Dem = Liberal Democrat (not as left-wing as Labour); UKIP = UK Independence Party.

The esteemed countermoonbat Daniel Hannan provides some analysis:

Sixty-nine per cent of Labour supporters would want a top rate tax of 50 per cent even if it brought in no money.

That is, they would impose the tax simply to punish people for having created wealth — on moral grounds. Theft motivated purely by maliciousness is regarded as moral by these people.

No doubt they would wrap their malice in rhetoric about reducing income inequality…

The case against state-enforced equality is not that a narrowing of the wealth gap is in itself a bad thing; it’s that it carries a disproportionate cost in terms of lost prosperity and lost freedom.

Wealth taxes make societies more equal; but they do so by making them less prosperous. We can push plutocrats into shifting their money abroad. We can drive hedgies to Singapore or Switzerland. We can, more prosaically, make entrepreneurs spend more time with their accountants and less creating jobs. We can encourage by far the most common forms of legal tax avoidance: shorter hours and earlier retirement. All these things will make our country more equal. All of them will make it poorer.

Lately Obama has been demagoguing the income inequality issue like a true Marxist. Appallingly but unsurprisingly, he has revealed that he believes wealth should be confiscated even if it actually reduces government revenue, “for purposes of fairness.”

Fairness as used by leftists like Obama is an Orwellian term roughly synonymous with “unfairness” that can be translated as “senseless economic vandalism.” This term describes most left-wing economic policy.

On a tip from Jester.

What surprised was 35% of the UKIP would do it. Isn’t that the party Daniel Hannan belongs to?

ah…the politics of greed and envy

Where victimhood is taught, this is the result. Instead of teaching self sufficiency, schools teach dependency. Leftist media reinforce this stereotype and we then have a whole strata of society that thinks they can never advance.

Crab mentality, sometimes referred to as crabs in the bucket, is a phrase that describes a way of thinking best described by the phrase “if I can’t have it, neither can you.” The metaphor refers to a pot of crabs. Individually, the crabs could easily escape from the pot, but instead, they grab at each other in a useless “king of the hill” competition which prevents any from escaping and ensures their collective demise.[1][2] The analogy in human behavior is that members of a group will attempt to “pull down” (negate or diminish the importance of) any member who achieves success beyond the others, out of envy,[3] conspiracy or competitive feelings.

This term is broadly associated with short-sighted, non-constructive thinking rather than a unified, long-term, constructive mentality. It is also often used colloquially in reference to individuals or communities attempting to improve their socioeconomic situations, but kept from doing so by others attempting to ride upon their coat-tails or those who simply resent their success.[4]

Taking someone’s personal property to give it it someone else is THEFT. Libtards like to compare themselves to Robin Hood when they are in fact the opposite. In the story, Robin Hood took money from the Sheriff and titled landowners that they had taken from the general population in the form of unfair taxes.

Liberalism takes from the general population in the form of unfair taxes and gives it to political elites with some dripped on the poor after lavishly greasing the cogs of big government.

The malice demonstrated in the UK survey is further proof of the sadistic nature of Liberalism. Liberals are sociopaths who mask their psychopathy with falsely framed good intentions. That is why the travesty known as Obamacare is officially named the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act when the opposite is true. It is why the attempts to grant amnesty to illegal aliens is called the Dream Act when in reality it will be a nightmare for America, the Fairness Doctrine was actually intended to stifle free speech, the NDAA and Patriot Acts are intended to allow the spying on and arrest with out cause of American citizens and so on.

When ever you hear a bill named one thing, be certain it will do the opposite. That is how Communists operate and how people who are intent on enslaving others get what they want. The desire to enslave other people is evil on its face and cannot be justified by any flowery words. When some one seeks to enslave you do you really believe that you can “negotiate” with them and come out of it still free?

    Dovetailing what 762×61 said:

The most flagrant and deceitful use of language is exemplified by how the left mislabels themselves as “liberals” and or “progressives.” Of course the opposite is true. The fact is the left is anti-liberal (viz narrow-minded and rabidly intolerant of any POV but their own) and most definitely they are socialist-regressives. What the left actually is has no resemblance to what the terms ‘liberal’ or ‘progressive’ denote.

Good article, but I have to correct you here, Dave.
The Lib Dems are actually more Left-wing than Labour. They’re supposed to be the party of the centre, but over the last twenty or thirty years or so they have adopted policies that are positively lunatic.
One of the reasons that the Conservatives are unable to bring in conservative policies is that the British government is actually a coalition government, an alliance of Tory and Lib Dem.

This is why government welfare spells the beginning of then end for a society.
