Separated at Birth?

Here’s a pair so similar, it takes some thought to figure out the difference:

robber-government

The only way I can tell them apart is that the robber takes initiative and puts his life on the line to steal, so in a law of the jungle sense, he has some sort of claim on his plunder. The government, or rather, those who steal through it by voting to have it redistribute money on their behalf, whether they actually receive the money or receive gratification by knowing it is being given to people they want to have it, lack even a common thief’s redeeming characteristics.

I’ve got news for the folks who think the government is doing them a favor by redistributing some of the wealth of rich people to them.

In the war on poverty, the bureaucrats have consumed about two thirds of the money plundered from the taxpayers. In other words, if the tax collector takes $60,000 in taxes from rich people, intended to “help” the poor, only $20,000 shows up at the mailbox of the poor person.

Although the government middleman is doing all the work, he is also keeping most of the plunder.

I think the international banking cartels would take great umbrage with your assertion. ;-)
