Big Government Blinks at Bundy Ranch Showdown

Great news from the Bundy ranch, where the Federal Leviathan overreached to the brink of armed conflict: the Feds have backed down for the time being and are returning the cattle they rustled to Cliven Bundy.

Infowars is taking some credit for this happy development:

The federal government backed down and ended their siege against Nevada cattle rancher Cliven Bundy less than 24 hours after an Infowars exposé connecting the land grab to Harry Reid and a Chinese-backed solar farm went viral, becoming the biggest news story on the Internet.

[Friday] night, we revealed how the feds were using the Bureau of Land Management to bully and intimidate ranchers like Bundy, pushing them off public land in order to pave the way for lucrative “green energy” projects backed by the Communist Chinese government and linked to Nevada Senator Harry Reid.

Kudos to Infowars and Dana Loesch for reporting on the federal government shoving ranchers into oblivion so as advance their corrupt green energy boondoggles. But the government has never shown much shame in these matters before, particularly not where the notoriously slimy Harry Reid is concerned. The real credit for winning the standoff goes to the Bundys for not backing down — and to the hundreds of patriotic Americans who traveled to southern Nevada to show their support.

Fox News reports:

Federal land managers say “escalating tensions” led them to release all 400 or so head of cattle rounded up on public land in southern Nevada from a rancher who has refused to recognize their authority.

Bureau of Land Management Chief Neil Kornze announced an abrupt halt to the weeklong roundup just hours before the release.

“Based on information about conditions on the ground and in consultation with law enforcement, we have made a decision to conclude the cattle gather because of our serious concerns about the safety of employees and members of the public,” Kornze said in a statement.

Hundreds of states’ rights protesters, including militia members, showed up at corrals outside Mesquite to demand the animals’ return to rancher Cliven Bundy. Some protesters were armed with handguns and rifles at the corrals and at an earlier nearby rally.

Like all bullies, the power-mad statists comprising the Obama Regime are cowards. If you move when they push you, they will push you harder. But if you push back, they will slink off in search of a softer target.

The incident is a textbook example of how to use the show of force without resorting to violence. The Regime is infamously arrogant. Its agents had no problem with reportedly tasering Ammon Bundy, unleashing dogs on a pregnant woman, using helicopters to run Bundy cattle to death, or throwing Cliven Bundy’s 57-year-old sister Margaret Houston to the ground during intimidation efforts. But a shooting war with American citizens appears to be more than it has the belly for at this point.

You have to wonder if it would turn out as well if a similar incident were to occur in a part of the country where the government has largely succeeded in disarming the populace — New York, for example.

The Regime claims it has been crushing Bundy’s ranch on behalf of desert tortoises. Even in an age characterized by political correctness taken to the point of self-parody, this doesn’t pass the laugh test. The tortoises have been happily chowing down on Bundy cow pies for going on two centuries. Lately the Feds have been euthanizing these same tortoises.

The issue is bigger than tortoises, and even bigger than the “green energy” corruption that has proved so lucrative for the likes of Reid and Obama. The federal government owns the vast majority of the land comprising the Western states. The us-versus-them mentality of the Obama Regime, which is openly hostile to large sectors of the population, makes it obvious that this must change.

When America was truly free, long before the Sixteenth Amendment imposed income tax, federal revenue came largely from land sales. The bloated obscenity into which the federal government has deteriorated is currently $17.6 trillion in debt. As the Laffer Curve indicates, they will never tax their way out of this hole. The time has come for the bureauweenies in Washington to sell the West to the people who live here.

They will wait until the smoke has cleared, the militias have gone home, and we have forgotten Clive Bundy’s name. Then they will arrest him, possibly deliberately killing him in the process.

  • chronos the wonder pig

this is exactly why the 2nd amendment works & is needed. The Obama regime did not want to start a range war with Bundy & his supporters…that would have been bad press for Barry. Dave Blount’s observation that had this happenedsay in Chicago, where only criminals have guns, the Feds would not have backed down

  • deepred

They said that Bundy owed the “American people” over $1 million in cattle fees. This is straight out of the Bolshevik playbook. Turn individual patriots into “ENEMIES OF THE PEOPLE”. In reality enemies of the government which is supposed to serve the people and to preserve individual rights, not a leviathan that rules on behalf of a collective.

“[Since we need] a well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free
state, [therefore] the right of the people to keep and bear arms [to allow them to protect themselves FROM the well regulated militia] shall not be

The firearms protect us from a government that gets too powerful, and this week PROVED it!

    (a) They didn’t have the stomach to start shooting ranchers in front of TV cameras and,

    (b) they were pretty sure the armed resistance (from clear-minded Americans who aren’t pacified by all the new, legal marijuana) would spread…maybe even to Washington.

They are cowards who only know how to intimidate those who will not push back.

Bundy (and free Americans everywhere): 1

    Feds: 0

Now stay vigilant. They are simply re-grouping to get us where we’re un-armed and not on camera. We still have a very slim chance to crush these vermin forever IF WE DON’T BACK DOWN!

    NO FEAR!

I wonder how the cops feel about being hired guns for Reid, Obama and their Red Chinese masters?
What we need are LEADERS who can rally the people into a show of strength. Imagine 50 to 60,000 armed men and women marching through DC for a couple of hours; there wouldn’t be a damn thing they could do about it. Better yet, imagine a couple of governors with the balls to send a battalion of National Guard backed by a hundred cops and two hundred civilian volunteers covered by two or three gunships or fighters. No threats, just a speech or two, some music, lunch, then we go home.
    (sigh) Not likely to happen.

    Stay vigilant.

This kind of reminds me of what Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn wrote about the KGB in the “Gulag Archipelago” where when the KGB would try to grab somebody in a public place and the victim made a scene they would disperse only to come back later when nobody was around and get them.

Harry Reid Corruption Behind Nevada Standoff

So here are the specifics. Evidence suggests that Harry Reid was using the BLM to bully ranchers like Clive Bundy off of the land in order to open the door for foreign investment and development.

The Director of the Bureau of Land Management, Neil Kornze, is a former Reid staffer. The allegation is that Harry Reid has been conspiring with the BLM for years to evict Bundy’s “trespass cattle” to open the door for Chinese investment and development of a solar farm.

Prior to this crisis, the BLM website explained that Clive Bundy’s “trespass cattle” were directly impeding on development in the region.

“Non-governmental organizations have expressed concern that the regional mitigation strategy for the Dry Lake Solar Energy Zone utilizes Gold Butte as the location for offsite mitigation for impacts from solar development, and that those restoration activities are not durable with the presence of trespass cattle,” the purged document says.

The BLM has been trying to create a large solar farm in Nevada and BLM Technical Note 444 shows that not only do Bundy’s cattle graze on this land, but Bundy’s property is also within the targeted area!

Back in 2012, it was reported that Harry Reid’s son Rory was the primary representative for ENN Energy Group, a Chinese company seeking to build a $5 Billion solar plant in Nevada.

So now we have a situation where Harry Reid’s son and former staffer may have been coordinating to evict an American rancher in order to open the door to Chinese investment. Harry Reid has denied participating in the deal, however multiple news organizations, including Reuters, have confirmed that Senator Harry Reid was influential in pushing for the deal! This is cronyism, plain and simple! To have the Majority Leader of the U.S. Senate conspiring with a foreign company to displace a hard-working American rancher is atrocious!

  • dan

    they aren’t cops :

The Bureau of Land Management is actually a sub-corporation of UNITED STATES INCORPORATED, a private foreign owned off-shore corporation since its last incorporation in 1925, copyrighted, trademarked and registered in Puerto Rico. Under the Reorganization Act of Washington District of Columbia, by it’s own private business charter, neither the BLM, nor any other federal/corporate agency has lawful/legal authority, jurisdiction or interstate nexus within the 50 state geographical landmass. BLM, is actually classified as an: “Agent of Foreign Principle“, under the intergovernmental Personnel Act. In other words, they don’t represent the Constitutional Republic or the interests of the American People but rather, a foreign owned principle i.e., the international banking/military corporate cartel of London City, England known as Crown Corporation as their supreme authority. This has been openly admitted and exposed through Supreme Court cases since and even before 1938.

  • Exactly right. They just momentarily backed off. The video detailing it is posted on my blog:

As a citizen, who is part owner of said land…I will give up my .00325 cents to let them have their land.

  • Softly Bob

Don’t stop at this. When you eventually get your country back and kick your Federal government’s ass, you can’t just leave it at that.
You need to round up all the ‘Liberal’ traitors in government (especially that Jackass Muslim POTUS, and Hillary the witch) and you need to put them on public trial for crimes against the people – and then when you have found them guilty of treason you need to string them up. They are nothing but murderers, bandits and cattle-rustlers.
I mean it, they all need hanging!

200 armed federal agents against 1,000 armed civilian militia is why the government backed down, they were outgunned. They will come back with a greater force and push this over the edge.

  • 762×51

I agree, that is the way of the coward. Either that or they will show up in force once the militia have dispersed and take the ranch by force all at once. The Gestapo will kick in his door in the middle of the night and people will die.

  • jarhead

The feds backed down because they knew the people are pissed!

  • 762×51

Anyone who has read my posts over the last several years knows that the show of force is EXACTLY what I have advocated for repeatedly. This episode proves my point perfectly. This enemy government cannot stand against an armed civilian population.

They miscalculated in this instance and found themselves outgunned, I doubt they will make that mistake twice. The government cannot let this go as their power brokers require the corrupt deals to stay afloat. The enemy government will return with greater military style force and do the violence necessary to advance their evil agenda.

The militias did the right thing showing up and yet not firing on the feds, however they will not have that option the next time. I have said it until I am blue in the face, evil will force the confrontation and there will be a gunfight eventually, this is only a prelude. We will need much greater force the next time and people will die. History will record that this is where the rebellion began.

  • 762×51

Interesting info Dan. I’m going to verify it for myself, not that I don’t believe you but I want my own documentation. If true, the BLM is in violation of the 1934 NFA and the 1968 Gun Control Act at the very least. Where would their authorization for possession of automatic weapons come from? How about them being a standing Army outside of what is permitted under the Constitution?

The enemy government has spent decades militarizing the police and dozens of pseudo-agencies like BLM, DHS, NWS, DoE, FDA, USDA, etc. They are not doing that just to keep busy, they plan on using that force against the only people they can be used against, the American civilian population.

yep…seemed like a plausable theory….and the part of being out of Puerto Rico rang true (heard and confirmed in my own wayback memory)I’ve found so much duplicity by the government of late ,particularly the Season of Treason durning the 1861-1871 period, has led me to believe that anything I thought I knew ,was wrong, sigh.By he time we figure out all the plots and connect all of the dots….
