Obama Uses EPA to Inflict Economically Devastating “Climate” Regulations

Enjoy your standard of living while you can. Obama has decreed that it will be reduced:

The Obama administration took aim at the coal industry on Monday by mandating a 30 percent cut in carbon emissions at fossil fuel-burning power plants by 2030 — despite claims the regulation will cost nearly a quarter-million jobs a year and force plants across the country to close.

Coal provides us with 40% of our electricity. Obama has made it clear he wants the industry destroyed. This could be the death blow.

Democrats tried to impose similar regulations by constitutional means, when they controlled both houses of Congress. But due to fear of voters’ wrath among some elected officials, they failed. So,

The draft regulation sidesteps Congress, where Obama’s Democratic allies have failed to pass a so-called “cap-and-trade” plan to limit such emissions.

Under the plan, carbon emissions would be reduced 30 percent by 2030, compared with 2005 levels. The proposal sets off a complex regulatory process in which the 50 states will each determine how to meet customized targets set by the EPA.

Not by Congress. By the EPA, which is now calling the shots in Washington because Congress has to face the voters and therefore has proven unable to implement Obama’s malevolent agenda.

If a state refuses to create a plan, the EPA can make its own.

This is a constitutional crisis. The anti-human environmental extremists staffing the EPA have no such authority.

The inevitable results if this stands, other than a severe weakening of the constitutional division of power that has kept this country from degenerating into a dictatorship over the past two centuries, will be the closing of dozens of power plants, hundreds of thousands thrown out of work, sharply higher prices for everything and in particular for electricity, and the sort of brownouts we will have to start getting used to as our country is deliberately transformed into a Third World nation.

The justification for this act of economic sabotage is the global warming hoax, although no one seems to actually believe that these wildly excessive measures will actually result in a measurable effect on the weather. The idea that carbon dioxide (without which plants won’t grow) is a pollutant because it drives up the temperature is unproven politically driven theory.

Worldwide CO2 emissions continue to rise. According to the theory, temperatures should be in the stratosphere by now. Yet they have not risen since the 1990s:

Obviously, this is about tyranny, not the weather. Obama has declared war on the economy in the name of a lie. He learned well from FDR’s Great Depression that the more people are thrown out of work, the more votes will be harvested by Democrats. The worse the better, as his fellow left-wing radicals have been known to say.

If they aren’t stopped, America’s decline will soon become precipitous.

All power plants supplying electricity to the DC area should shut down for at least a day.

  • Mr. Mentalo

…and because of the media, the public just goes right along. Then when they can’t get gasoline or their electricity goes off four times a day (esp. in summer) and places start closing and jobs evaporate and money flows out of communities and…and…and…and…

…then they’ll stand there and cry about how tough life is.

He is evil incarnate. Now…what are we going to do about him?

The moment this retard is removed from office forcefully or thru the election cycle, everything he has done needs to be undone within the first year he is gone. This country will flourish when it is not being destroyed by the head Muslim. And if he wants to live anywhere but Shitcago, it should be on his dime.

  • Jon

I can solve this before he is out of office. Congress zeros out the EPA budget for 2015. Problem solved.

The solution to the sort of crap is simple — have Congress pass, plus President sign a law that reaffirms the Preamble’s premier position in guiding how the powers of the Constitution are to be exercised. Include some examples of how this guidance is to be used. The Courts would have to go along, as they’d be one branch, versus two, with each having it’s own right to interpret the Constitution.

For example, pretty much all of the EPAs process would run afoul of the “Preserve liberty to ourselves and our posterity” and “promote the general welfare” clauses on the Preamble.

The EPAs role should, according to the Preamble, be pretty much limited to promoting the average citizen to be good stewards of their domain, not demand them to behave or else thru excessive regulations that no one every really voted on. Regulation without representation has no place in our nation.

Most of the entire liberal schemes imposed by FDR and beyond that have created the morass and swamp our nation is currently stuck is would need to be reconsidered — Including, but not limited to, this current EPA upon high regulatory grab.

The EPA was created by an Executive Order (sound familiar?) by Nixon in 1970. Congress can defund it and when there’s a conservative majority next year (pray for it!) pass a law that simply states “The President, through Executive Order, shall not have the authority to establish any Cabinet Office, commission or entity that has the power to create laws or rules that have the weight of law. Cabinet Offices, commissions or entities may only suggest or recommend laws with comment from the public.”

Take it one step further: “All Cabinet Offices, commissions and other entities currently being funded that issue rules with the weight of law, must ceaase doing so as of the date this law takes effect and must submit all rulemaking and law requests to Congress.”

This will mean Congress will actually have to work, but the good news is that not much will get done and the Federal Government will stop making rules that put small businesses out of business.

I have an answer, but if I post it, Dave will have to remove it , and I’ll probably get a visit from the S**cret S**rvice. lol

“The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America . Blaming the prince of fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made him their President.” – Vaclav Klaus
