5th Grader Expelled for Noticing That News Anchor Looks Like Obama

Let’s check in on the progress of political correctness toward becoming not only the most absurd but the most repressive ideology ever devised. Fifth-grader Grayson Thomas was actually thrown out of his southern California school for noticing that Chris Schauble, coanchor of KLTLA’s morning news, resembles another graying mulatto, Barack Obama.

Young Grayson was denounced as a racist for allegedly implying that all blacks look alike, although totalitarian educrats “had no basis” for choosing to believe this. His permanent expulsion from his school in Stevenson Ranch occurred the very same day.

The child is clearly an enemy of the people, a wrecker, a saboteur, and quite likely a kulak. He and his entire class must be re-educated and/or eliminated. To the cadres in his school district who nipped this little problem right in the bud, good work comrades!

Good morning and welcome to lao’s personal piss pot.

You won’t see him on this thread because he is incapable of addressing any issue directly and for theta reason, he is afraid of being banned. His check from George Soros is just too important to him.

If you really miss his comments, I’d suggest you go and visit Media Matters or Democratic Underground, or stick around for the next open thread.

  • Daniel Shumaker

This young man should thank them for giving him a chance at a REAL education being homeschooled, instead of being dumbed down in the government school. Don’t look back, Grayson Thomas, look forward to your bright future, and when you think of your old school that expelled you, think “good riddance!”

Send him to the kiddy-gulag, where wolf-packs of bat wielding savages will re-educate him.

That my left. He was supposedly dying of cancer.

Chavez’s cancer is in his bones. Im sure many Venezuelans are stocking up on party supplies.

We will either stand up and stop this sort of madness, or we will surely be on the receiving end of a lot more of it. In saner times, all of the fools involved in this boys persecution would have been fired immediately and then shamed out of the county. Of course, in saner times they would never have behaved in such a loathsome and dispicable manner

Here’s the e-mail Julie sent to the moonbat principal and superintendent the other day.

Dear Ms. Fleece and Mr. Winger,

Thank you so much for helping all of us two weeks ago. Perhaps you don’t remember, but we will never forget how you went to bat for us and saved us from being corrupted by Grayson Thomas and his vile, wicked, racist comments about how a visiting newscaster resembled President Obama. Only God knows how much damage this child could have done to Western Civilization if he had been allowed to remain at your enlightenment center another afternoon. THANK GOD you crushed the viper in the egg and didn’t allow it to hatch out into–well, I was going to say “a black nightmare,” but on second thought, I think I’d better not.

I want you to know that my husband and I are planning to move to your district so that our children can partake of the world-class educational experience at your indoctrination (and I mean that in the BEST possible sense of the word!) facility. We know that our little darlings will be safe with you. Moving clear across the country is a small price to pay for knowing that our precious children will have their brains well washed under your patient tutelage.

May the force be with you (and BELIEVE ME, it IS!), and please be assured that your wonderfully liberal policies and outlook have earned you a place in the pantheon of the immortals in the field of–well, I was going to say “race relations,” but on second thought, maybe I’d better just close.

Your slavishly-devoted fellow despiser of freedom,

    Julie Rider

But, you see, the little racist brat had it coming.

Winger told KHTS that Grayson’s misbehavior in the past came into play when the incident occurred November 4. “It’s not what he said, it’s how he said it,” Winger related, adding that student confidentiality precluded him from sharing many of the details.

There you have it. A statement from a bureaucrat at the school. That proves the school was in the right and the little racist wingnut deserves expulsion.

    but they do look alike!

    —————-

I don’t see it. Not that much resemblance, I would say, from the images provided. But not everyone sees everything the same way, unless you’re a liberal, then you’re told what you see.

Actually the guy on the left looks more like Hugo Chavez. Is Chavez dead yet? Wonder if he will be stuffed and mounted like Lenin?

    —————————–

I don’t see the resemblance to Chavez either, but see my remarks above. NO, he’s not dead yet. He allegedly took a turn for the worse but not the final one. I hope they do stuff him because, if they do, they will eventually have the opportunity to burn him in non-effigy and so his body can share the fate of his soul as it “smells the sulfur” or whatnot.

There’s a story here that is being missed:

“Schauble was visiting the campus of Stevenson Ranch Elementary School on November 4 to have lunch with his daughter and according to the bloggers, the daughter was offended by Thomas’s comment and complained to her teacher.”

The daughter was upset at having her father compared to Obama. Unlike lao and his ilk, even a young girl is aware enough of what Obama is doing that she’s upset at any comparison of him to her father.

    But wait, there’s more:

“What allegedly happened was that Grayson made the comment about the similarities between the newscaster and the President to a friend, which was overheard by a girl who related the comment to Schauble’s daughter who allegedly got upset and told her teacher.”

SO basically, right out of the gate, it’s hearsay. And the authorities didn’t hear what the kid said, they heard what another kid that he was not talking to that maybe heard part of what he said, but maybe not all that clearly, said.

It turns out the kid just made a mistake – he saw, from a distance, a guy who he thought, in passing, looked a bit like Obama and he simply drew a false conclusion and shared it with a friend:

‘His father shared Grayson’s version of the story.

“He said that it was lunchtime and he got his food and went outside to eat with his friend. Having seen Schauble inside, dressed much like the President might be if he was visiting a school, he told his buddy that “President Obama’s here at our school,” trying to get them to go into the cafeteria and take a peek.

The boisterous comments were overheard by a girl who doesn’t get along with Grayson, who told Schauble’s daughter. Principal Candace Fleece interviewed the girls, and the boys, who said that Thomas’ comment was just a joke about how the men looked similar – tall, well-dressed, broad smile, friendly.

“Winger said he was teasing the girl, but the girl never directly heard him speak,” Thomas said. “He can’t tease a kid that isn’t there. He told me that when Grayson said it, that Chris looked like Barack Obama, what he was saying is that all black men look alike and that is racist.”

“I told him that your mind has melted under the pressure of political correctness,” he continued. “How can you ascertain what my kid was thinking? This is what George Orwell was warning us about. You’re telling me what an 11-year-old boy is thinking?”

    ————

So once again we see creeping liberalism, the “thought police”, in action. Never mind the kid’s true thoughts and intentions, just focus on what a liberal would have been thinking had he or she done that!

And I don’t know what to think of lao’s contribution but that they’re accepting that they owe the kid an apology but refusing to give it and simultaneously doing their best to scramble to cover their backsides at the same time:

The Newhall School District regrets that untrue statements have appeared in the media.
    ——————————–
Starting with the biggest untrue statement claiming this kid said or did anything wrong. For it seems like this accusing the kid of making statements that he never did is a pattern of behavior with them:

Grayson … had also been accused of making an inappropriate comment to a girl a couple of years ago. Witnesses defended Thomas and said he did not make the comment.

And the end of the article is the most chilling part, because the girl who was apparently deliberately most responsible for this mistake “got the last laugh”, and yet no action is being taken against her:

No matter what the Newhall District contends, this problem hasn’t gone away and it looks to be getting more serious. The girl who overheard Grayson’s comments has been texting him on his cellphone, telling him that they had a party to celebrate his removal from the school.

“He told her to stop texting him and she responded F-U and called him a stalker,” Thomas said. He’s taking hard copies of the texts to the sheriff’s department, which could take this incident from a schoolyard remark into a hate crime.

Thomas contends that the school district used discretion in previous cases, but in this case, it seems like everything was a rushed judgment.

“I told Winger, ‘there’s something to defend here because he’s not wrong. He didn’t make a mistake, didn’t do anything racist. He didn’t deserve to be tossed aside like this. You should not be the thought police.

“They could have made this a teachable moment. We have a good school, a nice town, but when we start allowing people to determine the thoughts and intents, it becomes a scary place to be – to have no recourse or common sense.

To the same extent that all whites resemble each other to a certain extent, and all Asians resemble each other to a certain extent, I suppose there’s some truth to that. But the problem here is that something is being made of nothing and the true racists are the ones screaming “RACIST” at the innocent, as usual.

“Word of his son’s Obama-Schauble comparison spread to Schauble’s daughter, Shelbi, who was sharing lunch with her newsman father. And Shelbi was uncomfortable with Grayson’s statement, saying it felt racist.

Then a teacher was summoned, then the principal, Candace Fleece, then the Newhall School District superintendent, Marc Winger. And that very afternoon, Nov. 4, Grayson was kicked out of Stevenson Ranch for good, his father says, for implying that all black men look alike.”

California Education Code, Article 1, §48918:
The governing board of each school district shall establish rules and regulations governing procedures for the expulsion of pupils. These procedures shall include, but are not necessarily limited to, all of the following:
    (a) The pupil shall be entitled to a hearing to determine whether the pupil should be expelled. An expulsion hearing shall be held within 30 schooldays after the date the principal or the superintendent of schools determines that the pupil has committed any of the acts enumerated in Section 48900.

Sounds like there are some serious problems in that school district. I won’t mind seeing teachers and administrators personally bankrupted by the civil liabilities they have incurred…

Oh, how I wish that would happen too. There needs to be a high cost for this daft and evil political correctness. And another thing; is it racist in the sense that it is evil to recognize racial differences? Aside from the obvious morphology, is it racist or merely accepting truth to notice differences in group average IQ, for example, or the fact that West African descended blacks are faster sprinters than other races? Must we pretend that all races are EXACTLY the same in all meaningful ways to satisfy the edicts of PC? To me, the truth is what the truth is, and to incessantly blame whites for other groups’ life outcomes (as is the narrative) is paternalistic towards minorities, and racist towards whites. I realize that’s slightly an aside, but only slightly, as this whole matter deals with the evil that is racial PC.

  • FrankW

How about this one instead, lao?
What did the kid say that was wrong? Or incorrect for that matter? There is a superficial resemblance between the two pictures (IMHO, and apparently in the kids O as well). Unless the kid stated his observation with some specific adjectives (which no one at this time has claimed) there is nothing he said that should be considered inappropriate or incorrect. I wonder if dad looked like Jay-Z or Michael Jordan if the daughter would have been so pissed. This appears to be at first glance a case of PC gone wild (with a pinch of revenge thrown in).

  • Spartan24

This is nuts! It’s really past time for public schools to be shut down, they are an institution that is past any sort of useful life and needs to go. There is very little learning and mostly political indoctrination going on. Now if the kid had been harassing the girl daily he would probably never have been punished but the girl suspended for fighting back.
