Still Another Hate Hoax: Sweet Briar College

If you enjoy hate hoaxes, you are in luck; another academic year is underway. From a letter issued on August 28 by James Jones, Interim President of Sweet Briar College in Virginia:

Sometime between 8 and 10:30 this morning, four labels, made with a label-maker, were affixed to doors and the water cooler on the fourth floor of Meta Glass. As difficult as this is to believe, two of the labels read “White Only,” and two “Colored.” For someone who grew up in the deeply segregated South, those words recall to me a world of racial discrimination, disregard for human dignity, and institutionalized prejudice.

Growing up in the politically unclean South would leave scars on the psyche of any educrat.

We have among us someone who is essentially bigoted and mean-spirited who would recall the Jim Crow days of separation, mirroring the apartheid of South Africa that summoned the calm voice of reason of Nelson Mandela [a communist terrorist] to decry hatred and to seek to change one’s immediate environment for the better.

But as readers will have guessed, the culprit was a moonbat attempting to prop up the exhausted charade that Persons of Politically Privileged Pigmentation are menaced by evil racists. From her confession:

While posting these extremely hurtful labels, I had one thing in mind. My mission was to show others that words can still have an extreme impact, and the past still resonates with us all. While moving forward, we can never really shake the past.

This is because a demonized version of the past will be rammed down our throats at every opportunity by cultural Marxists, in order to alienate us from our own heritage.

Administrators of the school had recently been wallowing in this demonized past by presenting the play “In Sweet Remembrance” during freshman orientation. The play evidently looks for racial scabs to pick by harping on black grievances from generations ago. It is likely that this corrosive propaganda inspired the hoax.

In her confession, the culprit then discourses about how “caring and kind” she is. That’s the payoff for buying into liberal ideology. You get to declare yourself to be a good person because you mean well, and other idiots will pat you on the head and agree.

Although we don’t know her name, we can add this caring and kind moonbat to the ever-growing list of liberals who have given up trying to find evidence in support of their bogus ideology and instead have elected to fabricate it.

Things must remain awful so they have something to be victims over. If things aren’t awful, then they will MAKE them awful, hence once again be victims.

    Then blame whites.

    (I read a report that this woman was, in fact, a woman of color. Haven’t confirmed that yet, but won’t be the least bit surprised.)

    Addendum: I read the college president’s response. It’s all about how awful and hurtful and terrible words are, and how they can cause untold anguish in students and faculty.

    My advice?

    Grow a pair.

    If you think Dymo tape labels on a water cooler can cause PTSD, then you’d better not EVER think about:

    Taking a cab
    Riding the subway
    Going to a sporting event
    Going to a bar or nightclub
    Working in construction
    Joining the military (if Obama guts it or gay’s it any further, this may be dropped from the list)
    Disagreeing with a Moslem
    Working retail (esp. customer service)

    or worst of all

    Ever becoming a Christian conservative.

    I’m old enough to actually have seen those signs when I was a kid. I didn’t read about it in some book or was told about it by some libtard Prof who ALSO never saw it for themselves.

    Just be clear, a liberal put up labels to remind everyone of how racist Democrats were in the 19th and early 20th centuries. They were the purveyors of Jim Crow, they instituted segregation, even after the Republican party passed the 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments establishing rights for Blacks. She wants everyone to remember the “world of racial discrimination, disregard for human dignity, and institutionalized prejudice.” that are the founding principles of her party.

    Nice, too bad old Nelson Mandela is burning in Hell, I mean gone to his reward, he could go there and burn some sense into whitey.

    Though she did wrong, I feel some sympathy for the young woman (assuming the e-mail is on the level). Who amongst hasn’t done something jackass stupid between the ages of 16 and 22? I’d guess she has been slowly simmered in leftist twaddle all through school, maybe getting it at home too. Then she’s plunged into a pressure cooker of screaming moonbattery as her first experience away from home.

    Whoever that person is, they don’t stand a chance in the real world…unless the “real” world is a prog utopia. Sadly for her, that will last a few years at best, then she’ll be in the end result of ALL prog utopias: a failed socialist hell-hole. Life will get a whole lot harder then, babe.     In the fight for the minds of our youth, the enemy does indeed have the high ground, and is heavily dug in.

    But consider the following, for what it’s worth (just one case, but it’s given me some hope). My older daughter has a current events class, in which the students read the news and discuss current issues. She goes in with the core issue in mind, that central, ugly truth in any given argument that leftists refuse to acknowledge. And, bless her mule stubborn, confrontational little heart, she just won’t let the moonbat teacher weasel out of discussing it. A couple weeks in, she’s assured of a low grade, but she thinks she already has about 1/3 of the class turned.

    They’ll listen to their peers. Nurture and support the voices of reason that appear among the youth. They are few, but they are there.

    Below is the complete text of the 14th amendment which addresses Citizenship Rights, not the Confederacy. The 14th was passed in June 1866, more than a year after the Confederacy had been defeated and no longer existed. Furthermore, it does not address or invalidate the 13th Amendment which abolished slavery and involuntary servitude.

    The 14th Amendment
    1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States,
    and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are
    citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State
    shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities
    of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or
    property, without due process of law; nor deny
    to any person within its jurisdiction the
    equal protection of the laws.

    2. Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States
    according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in
    each State, excluding Indians not taxed. But when the right to vote at any
    election for the choice of electors for President and Vice-President of the
    United States, Representatives in Congress, the Executive and Judicial officers
    of a State, or the members of the Legislature thereof, is denied to any of the
    male inhabitants of such State, being twenty-one years of age, and citizens of
    the United States, or in any way abridged, except for participation in
    rebellion, or other crime, the basis of representation therein shall be reduced
    in the proportion which the number of such male citizens shall bear to the
    whole number of male citizens twenty-one years of age in such State.

    3. No person shall be a Senator or Representative in
    Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil
    or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having
    previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the
    United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or
    judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United
    States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or
    given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of
    two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

    4. The validity of the public debt of the United States,
    authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and
    bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be
    questioned. But neither the United States nor any State shall assume or pay any
    debt or obligation incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the
    United States, or any claim for the loss or emancipation of any slave; but all
    such debts, obligations and claims shall be held illegal and void.

    5. The Congress shall have power to enforce, by
    appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.
