The entire private sector has been forced to adopt this de facto policy to some extent, but U.S. Cranes, LLC has made it official:
A west Georgia business owner is stirring up controversy with signs he posted on his company’s trucks, for all to see as the trucks roll up and down roads, highways and interstates:
“New Company Policy: We are not hiring until Obama is gone.”
“Can’t afford it,” explained the employer, Bill Looman, Tuesday evening. “I’ve got people that I want to hire now, but I just can’t afford it. And I don’t foresee that I’ll be able to afford it unless some things change in D.C.”
With Obama sucking all the air out of the economy with “stimulus” feeding frenzies, slapping crushing requirements on anyone who hires, inflating the already grotesquely bloated regulatory bureaucracy, and creating an atmosphere of terror where no one knows what tax hike, nationalization, or outrageously intrusive federal power grab is coming down the pike next, any business that dares hire before the Community Organizer in Chief has been shown the door is going out on a limb. That is why the official unemployment rate is still above 9%, with the actual rate much higher.
This is ominous:
Looman … said someone, and he thinks he knows who it was, reported him to the FBI as a threat to national security. He said the accusation filtered its way through the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security and finally the Secret Service. Agents interviewed him.
Fortunately the agents recognized their mission as a farce. But the higher-ups who sent them on it evidently didn’t.
One more radical leftist on the Supreme Court and there would be nothing to prevent a law criminalizing Looman’s attitude as “profiteering” or “economic sabotage.” America as we’ve always known and loved it may or may not survive even one term of Barack Hussein Obama, let alone two.
