Zuccotti Park Weapons Cache

Be careful around rats. Not only do they carry diseases, but some of them have sharp teeth:

A number of weapons were discovered in New York’s Zuccotti Park after Occupy Wall Street protesters were evicted by the Police Department… Gardeners employed by the park owners, Brookfield Properties, to clean up the mess made by occupiers during their two-month stay discovered various knives, including a large kitchen knife and other potential instruments of violence in flower beds throughout the public space, according to officials.

That’s not all…

A court motion related to the clearing of the park filed by Deputy Mayor Cas Halloway last week noted that, “Makeshift items that can be used as weapons, such as cardboard tubes with metal pipes inside, had been observed among the occupiers’ possessions.”

“It was our understanding that the protester[s] may have had a significant number of items that could be potentially used as weapons,” read the statement.

The motion also noted that “knives, mace and hypodermic needles were observed discarded onto the roadway,” after an Oct.1 Occupy Wall Street march across the Brooklyn Bridge.

The safest course is to never let rat infestations get out of control. Otherwise good people will inevitably get hurt — in addition to the rats.

This is great intel. It confirms my belief that when the fighting starts the libs will bring a knife to the gun fight. Wait till they find out how useless a shiv or spray is against a belt fed weapons system. Civil war folks, coming to your neighborhood soon, courtesy of the moronic a-holes like the one you see here.

You can improve this picture by super imposing an ACOG reticule over it, center of mass, of course.

Jock Strap makes a lame attempt at Loopy Loony Leftie humor with, “Don’t they know knives are un-American? Real Merkins* pack semi-automatics”

    From Jacque’s link:

“(Reuters) – About two dozen gun-toting Tea Party activists staged a rally at the Montana statehouse on Friday to support the Second Amendment right to bear arms and limiting the reach of the federal government.

Outnumbered by the media and politicians in attendance, the protesters spoke in favor of conservative-backed bills to nullify various U.S. laws, such as the Endangered Species Act or the newly enacted reform of the nation’s healthcare system.

The demonstrators had received special permission in advance to bring their weapons, unloaded and secured, to the state Capitol grounds for the rally.”

So? Nothing illegal, immoral, unconstitutional, or otherwise antisocial going on here, and in typical Tea party fashion, actually done IN COOPERATION with law enforcement.

Unlike Liberals, Constitutional Fundamentalist Conservatives like the ENTIRE Constitution and Bill of Rights – not just the parts that can be used to justify deviance.

*Derisive Leftist term for “Americans” – intended as an insult.

    Tony,
    1) If the right to bear arms requires the permission of, or cooperation with, the police, then it isn’t a right.
    2) If the 2nd amendment applies to guns it also applies to knives and other weapons
    3) Possessing a kitchen knife at a campsite where food is being prepared is hardly a surprise or reason for alarm
    4) The ‘right to bear arms and limit the reach of the government’ applies to everyone, not just the people you happen to agree with – or governments you disagree with. The Liberty Tree isn’t fussy whether the blood it is watered with is red or blue.

Merkin – an insult? Better tell George ‘My fella Merkins’ Dubya. I’m sure you intended ‘Loopy Loony Leftie’ to be a term of endearment.

  • TonyD95B

As usual, our “new” troll / Sock Puppet “Jocko” doesn’t “get” it.

Let’s look at all his brilliant “Bullet* Points”:

“1) If the right to bear arms requires the permission of, or cooperation with, the police, then it isn’t a right.”

No, actually it IS a “right” – and a God-given one at that. Our system of government, Constitution and Bill of Rights do not “grant” rights, they are designed to protect them.

Unlike Liberals, Conservatives don’t see the police as an enemy, and understand why they might question exercising said right to be armed on the State Capitol grounds. Cooperation is not a sign of weakness, although I can see how a knucklehead like Jock Strap might not grasp that concept.

    Jock continues:

“2) If the 2nd amendment applies to guns it also applies to knives and other weapons.”

Yes, it does. Glad you agree with us. The difference here is when the people posessing such items are engaged in civil disobedience and criminal activity. Unlike the activists in Montana who went out of their way to be cooperative and polite, the Zucchini Park “Occupiers” have been anything but.

Jock continues to embarass himself with this bit of “spin”:

    3) Possessing a kitchen knife at a campsite where food is being prepared is hardly a surprise or reason for alarm

If that’s all there is to it, why hide them?

Add to it this, from the original post: “…..discovered various knives, including a large kitchen knife and other potential instruments of violence in flower beds throughout the public space, according to officials.”

    “Other potential instruments of violence”….Hmmm.

“4) The ‘right to bear arms and limit the reach of the government’ applies to everyone, not just the people you happen to agree with – or governments you disagree with. The Liberty Tree isn’t fussy whether the blood it is watered with is red or blue. ”

True again – to use an extreme example, most of us here on Moonbattery did not agree with David Koresh, or even like the guy – but that was still no reason for Janet Reno and the Clinton Administration to kill him and the 80-odd people around him.

Yes, we support EVERYONES rights – even a misguided weenie like Jock Strap.

“Merkin – an insult? Better tell George ‘My fella Merkins’ Dubya. I’m sure you intended ‘Loopy Loony Leftie’ to be a term of endearment.”

Actually, President George W. Bush said, “American”. Our “new” troll (who is actually a sock puppet – I recognize the writing style) is just making a lame attempt to be “coy”.

As for Loopy Loony Leftie being a “term of endearment”, not exactly – but it’s more polite than “No-Good Rat B#stard Motherf#cker”, so I go with it…..

*Ohhhhh….at least he didn’t use “CROSSHAIRS!!!!!!”

Jock says: November 28, 2011 at 3:57 pm
    ————————–
The issue wasn’t that they had the items, it was that they obviously were concealing them and planning to use them against police. Other cities, who allow these ‘occu-infections’ to fester and grow need to take note. Here in San Diego one of these lunatics was openly offering to teach others at the gathering “how to get a policeman’s gun from him”.

  • Bob Roberts

TonyD95B – a “merkin” is a wig made of pubic hairs.

Jock – time will tell if you’re a friend or foe here – while part of your post made sense, clearly your conclusions are flawed. This wasn’t a case of someone exercising their 2nd Amendment rights – it was clearly a case of people planning a dangerous and even deadly assault on police – if you’ve been here long you would know that I (and probably others) posted links to stories about police who were wounded at “occupy” sites by people wielding just such weapons. This was not a legitimate 2nd Amendment issue – this was a deliberate attempt to stockpile materials that were to be used against the police illegally.

  • Bob Roberts

‘Loopy Loony Leftie’ – not a term of endearment.

    A statement of fact.
