Some hate hoaxes are perpetrated on behalf of others, as when aspiring social justice warrior John Sherman released a video on Facebook that has been viewed thousands of times purporting to document the oppression of one John Harrison, who was found to be driving on a suspended license after he was pulled over in Lenexa, Kansas for not wearing a seatbelt in a car full of marijuana fumes and drug paraphernalia:
Sherman wrote on Facebook that he was in the parking lot of a restaurant at 95th Street and Quivira Road when officers pulled “the kids” over for no apparent reason.
“I see a cop pulling kids over for bein’ black,” Sherman wrote. “After calling a few of his piggie friends, they tell the driver to get out.”
He detailed how he thought the officers manhandled Harrison and said he posed “no threat whatsoever.”
Sherman would later edit his comments to take out [the] “piggie” reference and referred to them as “cop friends.” He said officers “pummeled and choked this poor kid” until “blood was pouring from his mouth and he was crying.”
The video shows that Harrison resisted arrest after he was told that he was being arrested on a warrant issued by the Kansas City, KS Police Department. The video also shows that Harrison didn’t comply with officers’ commands. The 37-second video has been viewed thousands of times and outraged viewers have contacted KCTV5.
As with the Rodney King case, the video was used to work moonbats into a frenzy.
But as with the Minati Roychoudhuri case, a police dash cam foiled the social justice warfare:
Police released their dash cam video as well as a picture of Harrison with a cocked fist right before they say he punched one of the officers in the face.
“You can see the officers acting very professional,” said Lenexa Major Dawn Layman. “They showed great restraint in this video.” …
Video provided by Lenexa police show that Harrison had no visible injuries and was not bleeding when he was put in the patrol car. Harrison pounds his head into the cage in the patrol car three times.
Looks like Harrison will not become the next Freddie Gray just yet, but it wasn’t for lack of trying by John (although the video gives his name as Josh) Sherman. For his efforts toward helping us progress to a world where beasts like John Harrison run completely wild because the police are not allowed to stop them, Sherman earns a spot on the quickly expanding Hate Hoax List.
