I don’t know what to say about Michelle Obama in this photo taken at Pearl Harbor, but none of it is good. She left her makeup artist and hair stylist at home it seems. Her legs seem on the wrong body. And I’m not even talking about her outfit.

Ron Paul thinks Iran lacks Deserving Respect

Paul said that “if I were an Iranian, I’d like to have a nuclear weapon, too, because you gain respect from them (Israelis).”

I guess I missed how the Israelis dissed Iran.

I’m beginning to think it’s Operation Chaos all over again (this time waged by Paulinistas).

  • Festivus

    That should be “Paulinistians.” lol

  • AlphaMail

    Festivus around 10 o’clock,

    How about Paulistinians?

  • AC

    Festivus says:

Do you have any idea what he was saying?

Let’s try an evolution analogy: little tiny frogs are fed up (ha!) with being eaten by everything in the jungle. They change their color, bioaccumulate some poison, and everything starts leaving them alone. Those which don’t adapt are eaten.

There’s another sense of the word respect, other than admiration or nobility; respect can also mean a healthy distance for fear of consequence.

The Iranian people, most of whom have been brainwashed by mullahs and Islam, live in fear of being bombed, which isn’t too far off base if one looks at the current selection of neocon editorials. The more they fear being bombed, the more money the regime pumps into defense and chest thumping, which in turn amps up the calls for US taxpayers to pick up the tab for a bombing.

The problem here is that they have a lot more than one offending site well-exposed to the world. We can’t drop a few LGMs and be on our way, because doing so will only confirm the fears of the people and push them further into the arms of hardline Islamic tyrants. Either we stop rattling the sabers or the regime must be changed. Half measures won’t work.

    What can we afford?

Great ad here on Moonbattery for Elizabeth Warren.

I suppose an ad for Scott Brown wouldn’t be any different in terms of liberal ideology, but if conservatives have a voice somewhere, it would be nice not to have to support the enemy. Much less look at Warren’s hideous face.

Warren is running on a campaign to fight Wall Street. Wonderful.

Meanwhile, the brain dead RINO Scott Brown has tried since his election to ingratiate himself with Mass. liberals.

Great work and his defeat will be no loss.

  • IslandLifer

    Big talk, no wallet.

  • Festivus

AC, where did Israel dis Iran? Iran is the aggressor.

Yeah, AlphaMail, Paulistinians – that’s what I meant!

  • IslandLifer
  • AC

That’s not the point. Iran’s policy is driven by an Iranian viewpoint, not that of a neutral third party observer.

They think they lack respect, which they do (but for different reasons).

They also think that if they have a bomb, other nations will have to give them more latitude, as was done with the Norks and Pakistan, so the second prong is also true.

Now shake out those couch cushions. If you want to support pet projects in the Middle East, then pony up. You may stand with whomever you please, but as an American, I’ll stand with my countrymen who have been buried in debt and joblessness by the heavy hand of a big spending government juggernaut.

  • AC

Suppose it costs $1.5T to change the Iranian regime.

That is about $4800 for every man, woman, and child in the US.

If you are the head of a 4 person household, your bill is a cool $19,000.

Since only half of households pay taxes, if you’re one of those, your per household head bill is closer to $38,000.

That number itself is a bit off.

The top 10% of households pay 71% of the taxes, so if you’re in the top 10%, the cost attributable to your family is about $135,000.

The top 1% of households pay 38% of the taxes, so if you’re in the top 1%, the cost attributable to your family is about $724,000.

    All these numbers exclude interest.

This is insanity. I can’t even seem to find $4800 worth of caring for all the foreign freeloaders who will be better off without Iranian mullahs yet will shoulder little to none of the cost.

  • Festivus

I think Paul’s assessment is a little naive to be generous (dangerous is more like it). They aren’t out simply for respect. Israel could have taken them out a long, long time ago. Instead, they have respected Iran’s sovereignty for three decades plus, now.

  • Festivus

Why in the world would it cost $1.5T?

ICE launches hotline for busted immigrants

the Obama administration on Thursday launched a new free hotline for people busted on violations to get help.
The hotline, run by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, is available 24/7 for detained individuals to phone if they think they “may be U.S. citizens or victims of a crime.”

    AC @ 10:44 pm, 11:02 pm, 11:12 pm

10:44 pm What a great analogy…..if you’re talking about a tiny little frog surrounded by frog-eating Monitor lizards, rather than a threatening Monitor lizard surrounded by frogs concerned about a self-professed frog-annihilating Monitor.

I remember the poor little Austrian people, who were brainwashed and lived in fear of being oppressed by the West. The more they feared being bombed the more the Nazi regime pumped into defense and chest-thumping, which I’m sure caused my parents to worry expressly about their taxes being raised and having to pick up the tab for ammo and C-rations. I’m still trying to figure if it was OUR saber rattling that caused the holocaust. I’m feeling guilt…really bad guilt.

11:02 pm AC must mean Arab Confidante. You say you think they lack respect and if they have a bomb other nations will give them more latitude. Gosh, I’m going to have to start consulting with you from now on, because that’s not what the mullahs and Ahmadinejad say – they say F**K the West and F**K Israel and F**K respect – we’re going to blow your ass away! The Nazis weren’t even that blatant. Excuse me while I shake out my couch cushions – not for spare change to help pay for nuclear insurance, but so I have a nice clean cushion to protect myself when Ahmadinejad floats a nuke up the Hudson on a barge and realizes his dream.

11:12 pm Forgive me for a minute while I figure out my 2012 budget. Let’s see, I’m in the lower 33% but that’s OK, I’m particularly blessed living in America so I don’t mind paying a little more for essentials.

$600 for rent which is necessary, $250 a month for my 18 year-old daughter’s car which is a joy, $400 a month for her college fees which is a privilege, $300 a month for food which is survival, $100 a month for charity which is a Godsend, $75 a month for the gun range which is a hobby, $40 for a new pole for Old Glory which is an honor, and anything the military needs to help defend me, my family, my friends, my faith, and my country, which is nothing short of PRICELESS.

AlphaMail, the all American Dad. Three cheers to you big guy. When your big neo-con head finally pops out of your @$$ and realizes our country is $16 trillion in the hole and counting, maybe at that same moment you’ll realize we have a much bigger problem than ragheads on our hands. And last time I checked just about every country holding nukes doesn’t take to kindly of America right now.

    Maybe I missed the argument.

I align with the Tea Party mostly.

First and foremost is to get rid of our massive national debt – how can anyone disagree with that?

Second, stop the insane spending and curtail all the entitlement freebies. Realistically solving the illegal immigration problem which has bankrupted California’s EMT rooms, and their school and prison systems would be a nice start.

Third, stop the friggin corruption and fraud, and create term limits.

Last, remove the stumbling block to those ends and to our survival by voting Obama out of office.

Apparently I missed the point somewhere. I wasn’t arguing against any of those issues, I was basically saying a strong military is crucial, we cannot diminish our support for defense or overlook the clear and present danger of radical Islam as voiced by Ahmadinejad. He’ll do what he says. We cannot flinch.

If America can solve the issues I just mentioned, then we will have enough money to stop the threat. The point really is: Do we have the will to do it?

What good is it to worry about the cost of paint for the lanai, when raghead lolo brain haoles are about to set fire to the koa canoe, when they took the last of the opihi, and they’re about to dig up da pig only because they can’t stand pork? Eh, brah?

Back in the fiftys, a presidential adviser convinced Truman that the communists were building up their military because they were AFRAID of the United States. This jackass –who turned out to have communist sympathys– convinced him to LET THEM TAKE OVER A FEW “INSIGNIFICANT COUNTRYS” to show that they had nothing to fear.

    IT WORKED.

Sorry you just sounded like another war drum beating republican who think attacking Iran is priority. We can’t attack any more ships because ours is sinking. We can however get out of Israels business and let them do things their way. I have no doubt Achmajock would nuke Israel if he could but it’s not up to him. He’s nothing but a mouth. Ali Khamenei would never allow it as he’s smart enough to know it would be committing suicide. On those other issues I agree. Toss every bum out of Congress who supported NDAA (that would leave all but 6 I believe) and hopefully replace them with those who will keep their word. I like term limits, thank you for your 2 yrs and bye. Replacing this fraud no doubt, but not with another reckless spender. Border security a must. And yes, no more free handouts. I also believe in a strong military, always. So yea let’s put the right congressmen in place with a President who does what he promises, correct our financial retard, secure our borders with our military, end
Big Government and the gravy bowl, etc. Then we kick back on a freshly painted lanai overlooking the paddlers in the bay while the opihi replenish. The kalua is back in the ground, the poi is being pounded, cousins singing with the uke while the aunties all prepare for the celebration lu’au. Sounds good. Maybe it can happen. Shoots.

    Racism in America’s Public Schools

Public education in America has been in serious trouble for decades and now a new problem has arisen: racial discrimination against black kids by teachers, administrators, and entire districts.

At least that’s the conclusion drawn by some African-American educators, the mainstream media, and the Obama adminstration.

Our schools have long been plagued by declining test scores, graduates who can’t read or cipher, high dropout rates, violence, cheating and sex scandals, and little to nothing has been done to substantively address those issues.

Instead, attention has lately been focused on the scourge of bullying–which has existed for as long as there have been kids–and on the “phenomenon” of unruly and disruptive cherubs being disciplined for being black.

Wisely, the MSM generally doesn’t directly attribute that “phenomenon” to racism since there is no racist intent in disciplining students. The MSM merely implies there is.

In a WaPo article titled, “In Washington Area, African American Students Suspended and Expelled Two to Five Times as Often as Whites,” racism is never cited as the cause behind those figures. WaPo’s Donna St. George simply writes that they create “disparities in discipline that experts say reflect a growing national problem.”

Translation: Schools favor whites over blacks and, to a somewhat lesser degree, over hispanics, and apply disciplinary measures accordingly.

St. George points to one expert, Montgomery County Deputy Superintendent Frieda K. Lacey, who said her district “has trained principals and administrators in new approaches, which include involving a team of administrators in suspension decisions.”

Translation: Lacey and company will intercede on a black student’s behalf after he or she creates mayhem in a school.

Lacey also noted that ”Nearly 6 percent of black students were suspended or expelled from school last year,” comparing that percentage with the 1.2 percent of white students.

Just in case St. George’s readers missed the racial import of Lacey’s comparison, a clarification is provided: Lacey “pointed to one unsettling statistic: 71 percent of suspensions for insubordination . . . were handed out to black students. African Americans make up 21 percent of students in Montgomery’s schools.”

Translation: Black kids are being discriminated against en masse with expulsions, suspensions, and other disciplinary measures because they are black and not because they tend to be unruly and incapable of being disciplined short of getting rid of them.

WaPo’s African-American adjunct, The Root, takes a more straightforward approach to the issue.

In “Black Boys: We See Them Differently,” The Root agrees that ”there remains a huge gap in how discipline is metted [sic] out. . . (Read more at http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=11946.)

    “IslandLifer says:December 30, 2011 at 1:44 pm”

Was that directed at me? If so…

First let me say that I’m a SOUTHERN democrat, the old-fashioned, non-communist kind.

Now I have said before that this war we are trying NOT to fight will be decided with nukes; either we or the muslims will set one or two off. Your assurances that “jacket” is not in charge is no assurance because he speaks the same poison as the mulahs.

I know that we can’t send anymore solders overseas; I have said LONG ago that we should abandon Europe to it’s fate, so you don’t have to convince me. But tell me, how much would it cost to send a couple of Minutemans tipped with 75 kt warheads? Believe me, it’ll happen and I’d rather that WE fire the first and last shot.

  • J
  • IslandLifer

KHarn, no that was not directed your way. As I said Achmyjock is a mouth and has no control of Irans foreign policy. A mouth, that’s it. Sure Khamenei shares the same hatred for Israel but knows better than to start a war, especially nuclear. I disagree that we need to make the first move on something with that magnitude. If you want WW3 with nuclear weapons involved then that would definitely start it without a doubt. Let Israel handle the situation as they are more than capable. If everybody would just STFU and let chips fall where they may things might get done quickly and correctly. We are broken badly as a country right now. We need to fix our Homeland before we ever think about fixing anothers. Look at the complete waste of American soldiers lives and those that were injured in a complete failure of our foreign policy. We didn’t even get 1 drum of oil out of it! So if you’re really content on sending nukes that way I also hope you’re prepared to receive the same here. And it won’t be just 1 country launching them at us. You wanna watch the world burn now? Or later?

The Death of the Girl Scouts

Anyone who has ever been a member of the Girl Scouts of the United States of America, a Scout leader, or active supporter of the GSUSA knows the organization has always been one of the finest in the country and the preeminent group advocating for American girls and young women.

    Until recently.

Celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2012, the GSUSA boasts a membership of over 2.3 million girls aged 10 to 17. They used to recite the Girl Scout Promise: “On my honor, I will try: To serve God and my country, To help people at all times, And to live by the Girl Scout Law.”

Their Promise is similar to the Boy Scout Oath, except in regard to the reference to God which the GSUSA made optional in 1993. That decision followed one two years earlier to adopt a “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy on sexual orientation. The earlier change was ostensibly made because the organization didn’t want “to intrude on personal matters”; God was dropped because a few people complained.

Both alterations of basic principles were made despite the fact virtually everything in the Girl Scout Law is “personal” and they were made in the interests of demonstrating the GSUSA adheres to the popular fascinations with diversity and inclusiveness.

Those fascinations represented the beginnings of Girl Scout political correctness and may have sounded the death knells of a once proud and honorable institution. The delayed ramifications of the GSUSA going PC were reflected in last month’s dissolution of troops and the recent exposé of Girl Scout attempts at political indoctrination.

As reported by the ChristianPost.com, and by few if any other media, “Three Girl Scout troops at a Christian school in Louisiana have disbanded in protest of a policy of inclusion for transgenders,” more precisely, accepting a biological boy into the Girl Scouts.

Regardless of one’s opinion of Sarah and Bill Tyler, parents of 8 year old Dana/Danann Tyler who indulged their son’s sexual identity confusion by allowing him to dress as a little girl, sent him to school lugging a princess lunch box, and bought him high-heeled slippers, we should all be able to empathize with the Louisiana parents.

Dana/Danann Tyler doesn’t seem to be the subject of the controversy in Lousiana–at last report, the Tylers lived in Southern California–and Christian Post doesn’t give the Louisiana boy’s name. Still, the situations are similar. Dana/Danann’s nationally-televised story was examined here in “Smile! It’s Transgender Awareness Week!”

The push for transgendered boys joining the Girl Scouts isn’t confined to either California or Louisiania. A Colorado mother also tested the GSUSA inclusion policy, was rejected by her local troop, called a press conference, then was heard from no more.

The Louisiana moms/scout leaders didn’t exactly give up, however.

They resigned their posts, disbanded their troops, and are considering re-alignment with an alternative group, American Heritage Girls, which is “dedicated to the mission of building women of integrity through service to God, family, community and country,” commitments now suspect in the GSUSA.

Fifteen year old Sydney Volanski is also commited. She’s committed to outing the GSUSA as a front for the Democrat Party and the progressive movement to undermine Girl Scouts’ integrity and non-partisan, apolitical tradition.

The amazingly-articulate teenager made an appearance on FNC’s “Fox and Friends” Thursday morning and revealed the heretofore unknown and un-publicized GSUSA campaign to seduce scouts into believing all the liberal media claptrap. . .
