Chicago: The Chaos Obama Nurtured Begins to Flower

As the Weimar Republic disintegrated, trapping the public between competing brands of statist tyranny, fascists and communists brawled with each other on the streets. Fast forward 80 years:

Donald Trump’s campaign on Friday postponed a rally in Chicago amid fights between supporters and demonstrators, protests in the streets and concerns that the environment at the event was no longer safe.

The announcement, which came amid large protests both inside and outside the event at the University of Illinois at Chicago, follows heightened concerns about violence in general at the GOP front-runner’s rallies. Illinois holds its Republican primary on Tuesday.

Hundreds of demonstrators packed into an arena, breaking out into protest even before Trump had shown up.

Don’t blame Obama for radicalizing American politics, and for using his Alinskyite community organizer tactics to turn us against each other on racial/class/religious/cultural/political grounds to such an extent that serious violence now seems inevitable. He says it’s conservatives’ fault. During a press conference with his moonbat colleague Justin Trudeau he droned,

“I do all kinds of soul searching in terms of, are there things that I can do better to make sure that we are unifying the country. But I also have to say… that objectively it’s fair to say that the Republican political elites and many of the information outlets, social media and news stations, talk radio, television stations have been feeding the Republican base for the last seven years a notion that everything I do is to be opposed, that cooperation or compromise somehow is a betrayal, that maximalist, absolutist positions on issues are politically advantageous, that there is a ‘them’ out there and an ‘us’ and ‘them’ are the folks who are causing whatever the problems you’re experiencing and the tone of that politics, which I certainly have not contributed to.”

By now we would be astonished if Obama didn’t use division as an excuse to cause more division by blaming it all on his opposition. Having the grace to acknowledge his own role in causing the country to spin into chaos by constantly playing some of us off against others would be out of character.

How fitting that this begins in Chicago, Saul Alinsky’s hometown, where Obama learned and plied his community organizer trade:

If Obama didn’t plant the seeds of this, he sure watered them.

Chicago (AFP) – Donald Trump is under fire from rivals who blamed his incendiary rhetoric for a violent outbreak Friday between protesters and supporters at the Republican frontrunner’s rally in Chicago.’

Let’s watch Kasich handle the ‘sure to be there’ crowd in Cleveland on July 18-21. I’ll bet we won’t be hearing much about his ‘healing’ ability and ‘bringing people together’ when he calls in the Ohio National Guard to bang a few heads outside the convention (unless he pulls a Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and gives them space to burn the city down). What’s it gonna be, Gov?

And as for Cruz (whom I voted for), he can thank his lucky stars that Trump is in the race. Otherwise, #BLM, Communist Party USA, Bill Ayers, et al, would be inside his venues (unless you think that these groups are impressed with his ‘restrained’ political discourse).

    Tin soldiers and Nixon coming,
    We’re finally on our own.
This summer I hear the drumming,
    Four dead in Ohio.

    Thanks Obama!

Bill Ayers is orgasming all over the place today. The jerk.

  • Fiberal

So now maybe the Cruzzettes can get a clue about Trump’s appeal?

  • Tostig

I’ve spent the whole morning arguing with people who either see this as Trump’s fault or as’s fault. This is, as Dave notes, Obama’s fault. This is the America he’s left us. Disgusting.

  • Chocolate&Cheese

Let’s hope those “trucons” don’t stay home or vote for Hillary. They blew it with Romney in 2012.

  • Stephen

Do Kasich and Cruz (and Rachel Maddow, too) also blame Bernie for the BLM shutdown of his rally?

That was a catastrophically stupid move on Cruz’s part to blame Trump and effectively side with George Soros and The best he can do at this point is a quiet mea culpa on the subject.

Those years of community organizing have come to fruition for Obama. If you don’t think he is directly responsible, just ask his fiend Bill Ayers..

  • Henry

If Obama didn’t plant the seed of this, he sure watered them.”

And now he stands back to watch his human weeds grow…

  • wbtsguy

Obama was the “Get in their face” promoter, wasn’t he?

  • cjkcjk

One of the worst things I’ve seen Cruz say to date, very disappointed. On the other hand we get to see some of this site’s ally’s behavior up close.
When do Bill Ayers and BLM get a column here?
The MSA (Muslim Students Assoc.) too!
Deranged Trump haters of the world unite !!!!!

  • Lockstein13

    AND YET: Cruz blamed Trump.

(Same “reasoning” as blaming the raped girl)

  • cjkcjk

I’ve yet to hear a Trump supporter declare he won’t vote for Cruz, but I’ve hear a sh!t load of ‘Republicans’ declare they won’t vote for Trump.

  • Fiberal

That is a huge concern. The irrational intransigence of republicans is second only to that of liberals.

Rush made the obvious and elementary point this week that I have been hammering on for years here on MB.

He essentially laid the disaster the U.S. has become, at the feet of the American people. Namely, the mindless voters and and mindlesser non-voters who have ignored, since Ted Kennedy changed our immigration laws in the 60’s to the lawless deprivations of the BO, the deterioration of the Constitutional Republic, thereby allowing government to become a monolithic liberal federal control center.

The voters have, in other words, become complicit in losing the country and failing to provide for the necessary transferring of traditional values to the generations for whom they were responsible.

Nothing encapsulates this more than the 2012 election in which arguably, 7M republican voters sat at home, staring into their flat screens as BO strutted, with his butt in the air like a good muslim, for a second shot at finishing off the country.

Now these same “pure” conservatives are actually willing to either vote (incredibly) for Hellary or to give her the WH by again, sliding into their cheap Lazy-boy chairs to begin another 8 years of self-congratulations.

  • Chocolate&Cheese

It doesn’t help that the education system, the entertainment system, and the media all lie to us constantly and push one tribe. And don’t get me started on the “opposition” party.

  • Fiberal

Yes. And these also represent sectors of Americans for whom traditional values failed since they were insufficiently passed on by the arrogant and dismissive previous generation.

Of course it also doesn’t help that IQ in America has been in decline.

  • Tooney

It was the plan all along……

  • Alphamail

Cruz, whom I’m voting for – unless Trump is the nominee at which time I will vote for Trump – made two ill-informed and insensitive errors (Both candidates are doing this and it’s getting really frustrating as a voter to accept these foibles day after day when they are supposed to be “MY” party). First, Cruz called Trump supporters “low-information,” when many are “high-information” but are indeed really pissed off (as we all are) – but expects them to overlook comments like that if he gets the nod. Last, he blamed Trump for the violence in Chicago when it lies directly at the feet of Obama – no questions asked – which I’ll detail at next Open Thread. If Trump made a mistake it was picking the venue at UIC – and you don’t expect Ayers and the radical Obamabots to come out in force with rocks, bottles, and a pre-planned rhetoric of blame?

Instead of condemning Obama and the far left progs for the protest violence, the three nitwit amigos attack Trump and his supporters.

  • NJJoanJettFan

Like Donald J. Trump said today “It’s payback time!”,

I’m voting for Trump and so should you. Come on, just do it, it’ll be “Nixonian”, “the Left” will cry and hide in their “safe spaces” for EIGHT (8) long years.

    Vote Trump!

  • NJJoanJettFan

“Four dead in Ohio” (at Kent State) wasn’t enough! The fact is every violent rallies/riot on college campuses in that era should’ve been crushed with MAXIMUM efficiency. As we witnessed in the last few years if you let “the Left” burn cities as they did with ROTC buildings unrest spreads and we have what we see today. Ayers and everyone of his accomplices and allies should’ve been executed.

“It’s payback time!” Donald J. Trump 2/12/16 Kansas City

    Vote Trump!

  • Donna M

    Prez wormwood,
That was truly, an amazingly insightful, and empty headed, profoundly slow, time delayed episode of incoherent, foggy, blither-blather babble!
You sounded like you were token on weed!
After having had a bowl of bablem!!!
And like, what happened??? Your hair, its completely gone grey?
My, how the weight of office has “shrunken” ya’!!!
You’ve become such an itty-bitty, little man!
Gee, ya’ better watch out for fly swatters!
Oh dear, ya’ went into office, roaring like a lion…and now look at ya’!!!
Your just a little lamb, who’s afraid of da’ big, bad conservative we-publicans!!!
It’s all right! Just have val-jar give ya’ a glass of warm milk, then let her tuck ya’ into bed!
    It absolutely mind boggling!!!
I’m sure the missing N. Korean submarine will be found…?
And all those threatening missile launches by both N. Korea and Iran are not a problem?

And the fools here keep talking about voting for Presidents instead of the down ticket races where the changes will take place. Oh yeah, Congress sucks BUT my Congressman/woman is OK. Bullshit, They belong to that corrupt club and come back to your State only to LIE to you.

Kasich, Rubio and Cruz have been in Office; they have a record. Wake up. Look at your Senator’s record and that critter serving in the House.

  • Ed. G. Mann

What you get with a one party system.

  • Ed. G. Mann

I won’t vote for Cruz. But then I always vote Libertarian. Except for the two times when I voted for Goldwater and Reagan.

  • Tooney

Agreed; frankly, I think they are all corrupt and I certainly don’t blame just Obama. There is plenty of blame to go around at all levels of government.

  • Krummholzt

In this piece, Dave unintentionally coins a term “Weimar Republican”. I think the term is more descriptive than “cuckservativsm”. You guys are Weimar Republicans, having lost the war (demographically) in 1965, you are staring at the ashes of the Constitution wondering what happened, and waiting for Bismark (Reagan) to rise from the dead and save everyone. It’s not going to happen. It’s time for something new and radical.

  • cjkcjk

Why wouldn’t you vote for Cruz?

  • Ed. G. Mann

I’ve explained elsewhere that I consider the GOP corrupt (Donks too). But let us look at this from the other side. Most commenters here have voted Republican time and again. By now one would have expected them to realize that voting that way (for either of the two parties) gets them nothing but being trampled underfoot. The voter’s voice is ignored. go back as far as you like. Even with Reagan, the Congress fought him and screwed the American voter. They did cut taxes; they never cut the matching spending which started the huge deficits. LBJ didn’t help when he took the SS money and used that to finance the Vietnam War, instead of raising taxes to cover the cost.

Why don’t you tell me about Boehner, McConnell, Ryan, Hassert, Jim Wright and the others before them that have been looting the public by making Congress exempt from the laws they pass.

You (collectively) elected some Conservative House members. Well, what has that accomplished? Ryan promised them one thing and gave away the store to Obama.

Keep voting for Republicans and you will get the same crap. There are other people running; tell me voting for them is a waste, it is if you’re going to keep voting stupid.

  • Mannie

It is starting. The Democrats are in violent rebellion against the United States. Unfortunately those treasonous scum are also the party in power and have no qualms against using violence against Americans. The violence is directly organized by the Democratic Party. When we regain power, the Democratic leadership must be executed en masse. It is time to start rounding up those thugs and hanging them from lamp posts. It is time to invade thgeir rallies. It is time for blood in the street. No quarter. No mercy.

It is time to start treating Democrat Scum (BIRM) with absolute brutality. No quarter. No mercy.

Democrati delenda sunt. No price is too steep to pay.

  • Ed. G. Mann

Those that keep voting for the GOP are insane by the definition of doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

The GOP pays no attention to the base, tramples them, lies to them on immigration, spending, ObamaCare, Education and Oh hell, pick any topic like ABORTION, which they have done nothing. They could have cut off the funding for Planned Parenthood via a proper budget, but Boehner opted for the Continuing Resolution which he then shoved up the Conservatives’ butts.

Clowns here tell me voting Libertarian is a loser! I’m not voting the same dumb-ass way, hoping this time I won’t get fu¢%ed by the McConnells, Boehners and Ryans again and again.

  • Tooney

Crap, I would be happy with a Cruz/Gary Johnson ticket!

  • Ed. G. Mann

You’re not going to be happy with anything that comes from the GOPe and the Convention.
The Elite will toss the election in order to keep their power base. They don’t care if Hillary is elected, you are talking about the media, the old money in DC, NY and FL plus the politicians in the Senate and House holding positions on power.

In power or out, they will make money because the have exempted themselves from the laws they passed. It is merely a matter of who holds the Committee Chairmanships.

Pardon me Murgatroyd, you’re quite right, it is your turn at the Speakership.

  • Tooney

I have to dream a little, Ed. ’cause I can’t take much more of what’s going on in this country………..

  • Ed. G. Mann

The Jackass Party is eating itself up; those that are on the hard Left will push more to the left . What we have to do is make sure the GOPe is finished off so that it cannot fill in with it’s corrupt ideas.

They will not go quietly; you have heard them making all the noise about not voting for Trump. They might hoist Ryan up as a third party candidate. Losing the election is better than losing their power.

This election isn’t going to go away quietly or nicely.
