Have Rush and others realized the enormity of their mistake?
As of late Rush, Hannity, et al. have become particularly vociferous in lashing out at those who made an informed choice on who to support. Perhaps they are feeling the pressure of the multitudes who can now rightfully say, “we told you so.” Or, perhaps it is dawning on them that the priority of winning at all costs will come at the price of everything they hold dear.

Trump’s most recent moves to the left should make it painfully evident to Rush, Hannity, et al. the enormity of their mistake. While his recent proposal of paid maternity leave was not the first time Trump headed left, it was the first time that he advocated an entitlement directly opposed by those who support him now. In many ways the fact that he telegraphed his true ideological underpinnings early should be doubly painful to those who supported the man.
    […]
So we have a candidate who told us he can easily change moving left and coming up in the polls to boot. These events will only serve to propel him further left. After all, this is a candidate who was on the side of the left only a few years ago, so it is only logical that he would return to familiar territory. It’s very likely we will have two candidates competing in handing out other people’s money and restricting civil rights. Instead of one candidate from each side, we will have two from the left.

This election could have been a turning point. After eight long years of Obama we could have reversed the damage and improved the odds of putting our representative Republic back in order. But, with the uniformed choice by some, that is not going to happen.

So, in the words of Willy Wonka (Gene Wilder), “So you get nothing, you lose… good day sir.” No wonder Rush, Hannity, et al. have become extremely defensive over what they have done.

Donald Trump Continues His Crusade Against The First Amendment
One of the last remaining arguments Trump supporters have in their arsenal to convince people to support their guy is the Supreme Court.

When expressing any doubts about Trump, the classic retort is, “Oh yeah? Well we KNOW what Hillary Clinton will do. We don’t know what Trump will do!”
I’m sorry but is that supposed to bring me comfort?
Sometimes knowing what’s coming down the road allows for adequate preparation to deal with the issue. The unknown leaves to much to chance.
Donald Trump’s complete disregard for the freedom of the press his constant threats against the press is an affront to our liberty and the constitutional protections afforded us under the first amendment. He’s at it again. He tweeted this:

Race tightens in projected U.S. Electoral College vote: Reuters/Ipsos

An election analysis conducted in the Reuters/Ipsos States of the Nation project shows that the race has tightened considerably over the past few weeks, with Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump projected to win Florida, an essential battleground state, if the election were held today.

The project, which is based on a weekly tracking poll of more than 15,000 Americans, shows that the 2016 presidential race could end in a photo finish on Nov. 8, with the major-party candidates running nearly even in the Electoral College, the body that ultimately selects the president.

The States of the Nation project, which delivers a weekly tally of support for the candidates in every state, shows that the race has tightened in several traditional battlegrounds. Pennsylvania has been moved from a likely win for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton to a tossup; Ohio has been moved from a tossup to a likely win for Clinton.

And Florida is now considered a likely win for the Republican nominee, with 50 percent support for Trump to 46 percent support for Clinton. If the election were held today, the project estimates that Clinton has a 60 percent chance of winning by 18 electoral votes. Last week, the project estimated that Clinton had a 83 percent chance of winning the election.

In a separate national Reuters/Ipsos tracking poll, Clinton continues to lead Trump by 4 percentage points, and her recent bout with pneumonia doesn’t appear to have scared away her supporters.

The national Sept. 9-15 tracking poll showed that 42 percent of likely voters supported Clinton while 38 percent backed Trump. Clinton, who has mostly led Trump in the poll since the Democratic and Republican national conventions ended in July, regained the advantage this week after her lead briefly faded in late August.

Trump to Victims of Illegal Alien Crime: You Have Been ‘Forced into the Shadows’

This is one of those cases where yes, we do in fact know what Hillary will do. She will continue, or perhaps even accelerate, the policies of Obama. And it’s a pretty safe bet Trump will do better, even if he won’t do perfect. Same as with the Supreme Court.

All the bluster about the First Amendment – how many times has he threatened to sue now? And how many times has he sued?

Trump knows how to get attention – he was castigated by some for not spending money on commercials. Why spend when you can get the media to give you more than enough exposure for free?

And his strategy seems to be working – see my previous post.

But let’s say, for sake of argument, we have a realistic third choice. IF someone can explain what that realistic third choice is.

Anyone want to give it a go? Or is your obvious choice “We’ll just throw in for Hillary and buckle our seat belts”.

Because that seems to be the plan.

  • Maybe it’s time we looked at how political correctness is the TRUE enemy of the First Amendment – and maybe it’s time we understood that Hillary will continue Obama’s abuse of ALL ORGANS OF GOVERNMENT to curtail ALL our rights. Not just the First and Second Amendments.

A FRAIL LOOKING HILLARY HITS TRUMP FOR CALLING NYC ATTACK ‘BOMBINGS’ — AFTER DOING THE SAME
‘I’ve been briefed about the bombings in New York and New Jersey’

A noticeably frail-looking Hillary Clinton discussed the bombing in New York City Saturday night, hitting Donald Trump for saying the explosion resulted from a “bomb.”
Clinton herself, however, began her remarks by likewise referring to the “bombings.”
“I’ve been briefed about the bombings in New York and New Jersey,” she told reporters.
“Do you have any reaction to Donald Trump immediately … referring to the explosion as a bomb?” a reporter asked.
“Well I think it’s important to know the facts before responding to an incident like this,” Clinton said. “I think it’s always wiser to wait to until you have information for making conclusions, because we are just in the beginning stages of trying to determine what happened.”

    http://www.philly.com/philly/news/20160918_What_we_know_about_the_suspect_in_West_Philadelphia_rampage.html

He was a kid in need.

That’s how Joan Griffin viewed Nicholas Glenn when she took him into her West Philadelphia home more than a decade ago, along with his brother and sister.

Their mother was struggling with drug addiction and wasn’t always around, Griffin recalled Saturday. So she gave the kids a home and raised them alongside her own children as they moved to Germantown, then North Philadelphia.

But as Glenn grew up, he eventually went back out on his own and returned to West Philadelphia, Griffin said. He also began piling up arrests, largely drug-related, court records show.

And Saturday, the quiet boy Griffin took in years ago died at age 25 in a hail of gunfire, after going on a rampage in West Philadelphia that left one woman dead, three people wounded, and two police officers shot.

“Obviously,” said Police Commissioner Richard Ross, “he was hell-bent on hurting a lot of people.”

The path from foster child to accused murderer was filled with run-ins with the law, according to court records. At one point, Glenn was accused of gang rape in a case that was later dropped. Last year, he spent about seven months in prison for a probation violation, court records show.

“NFL games I played stoned were some of the best games I ever played. Cannabis cements your surroundings,” he says. “A lot of people say they’re useless when they smoke weed. But hell, I played NFL games [while stoned], dude. My performances were solid and I felt really good after.”

Massive Cover-up Exposed: 285 Papers From 1960s-’80s Reveal Robust Global Cooling Scientific ‘Consensus’

Beginning in 2003, software engineer William Connolley quietly removed the highly inconvenient references to the global cooling scare of the 1970s from Wikipedia, allegedly the world’s most influential and accessed informational source – which is to say it is full of leftist lies, propaganda and talking points.

It had to be done. Too many skeptics were (correctly) pointing out that the scientific “consensus” during the 1960s and 1970s was that the Earth had been cooling for decades, and that nascent theorizing regarding the potential for a CO2-induced global warming were still questionable and uncertain.

Not only did Connolley — a co-founder (along with Michael Mann and Gavin Schmidt) of the realclimate blog — successfully remove (or rewrite) the history of the 1970s global cooling scare from the Wikipedia record, he also erased (or rewrote) references to the Medieval Warm Period and Little Ice Age so as to help create the impression that the paleoclimate is shaped like Mann’s hockey stick graph, with unprecedented and dangerous 20th/21st century warmth.

A 2009 investigative report from UK’s Telegraph detailed the extent of dictatorial-like powers Connolley possessed at Wikipedia, allowing him to remove inconvenient scientific information that didn’t conform to his point of view.

“All told, Connolley created or rewrote 5,428 unique Wikipedia articles. His control over Wikipedia was greater still, however, through the role he obtained at Wikipedia as a website administrator, which allowed him to act with virtual impunity. When Connolley didn’t like the subject of a certain article, he removed it — more than 500 articles of various descriptions disappeared at his hand. When he disapproved of the arguments that others were making, he often had them barred — over 2,000 Wikipedia contributors who ran afoul of him found themselves blocked from making further contributions. Acolytes whose writing conformed to Connolley’s global warming views, in contrast, were rewarded with Wikipedia’s blessings. In these ways, Connolley turned Wikipedia into the missionary wing of the global warming movement.“

  • Four New Scientific Publications Show No Detectable Sea Level Rise Signal!

    http://notrickszone.com/2016/08/01/all-natural-four-new-scientific-publications-show-no-detectable-sea-level-rise-signal/

It is widely assumed that sea levels have been rising in recent decades largely in response to anthropogenic global warming. However, due to the inherently large contribution of natural oscillatory influences on sea level fluctuations, this assumption lacks substantiation. Instead, natural factors or internal variability override the detection of an anthropogenic signal and may instead largely explain the patterns in sea level rise in large regions of the global oceans.

Scientists who have recently attempted to detect an anthropogenic signal in regional sea level rise trends have had to admit that there is “no observable sea-level effect of anthropogenic global warming,” or that the “sea level rise pattern does not correspond to externally forced anthropogenic sea level signal,” and that sea level “trends are still within the range of long-term internal decadal variability.”

As Donald Trump has caught up with Hillary Clinton in the polls, he has likewise closed the gap in the electoral college. Ipsos/Reuters says the race to 270 votes is now nearly tied. Many are focusing on Maine, which allocates its electoral college votes by Congressional district, and where one district going for Trump might change the result.

  • I have to agree with the above link and the quote I found there (below) and I see the same hypocrisy among the never Trump crowd, who are indeed often indistinguishable from harcore liberal democrat moonbats – often adopting their insane strategies such as comparing Trump to Hitler and his followers to Nazis – without giving a single VALID basis for doing so.

Hillary Clinton can be re-launched, re-packaged, and protected by a phalanx of reporters. The liberal establishment can do its best to jam her down our throats. But we–the voters–don’t like her. And the more we see of her, the more our dislike is confirmed. She is too weak a candidate to be elected president.

Second, everyone knows that the press is trying to elect Hillary, and most Americans resent it. Every day, editors and reporters try to inflict an anti-Trump theme on the rest of us. Today’s hysteria revolves around Trump’s comments on Hillary’s hypocrisy regarding gun control:

She goes around with armed bodyguards like you have never seen before. I think that her bodyguards should drop all weapons. They should disarm. Right? Right? I think they should disarm immediately. What do you think? Yes? Yes. Yeah. Take their guns away. She doesn’t want guns. … Let’s see what happens to her. Take their guns away, okay? It would be very dangerous.

Trump obviously was making the point that he and countless others have made many times before: liberals like Hillary Clinton, who are protected 24/7 by armed guards, are deeply hypocritical when they try to disarm millions of Americans who don’t have taxpayer-funded protection and rely on their own firearms for self-defense. The point is a powerful one, which is why liberal reporters don’t want to acknowledge it. Instead, they absurdly pretend that Trump was hinting that Hillary should be assassinated.

Now Trump comes under fire – and to a certain extent the criticism is appropriate, but only because he naturally exaggerates – for his constant threats to sue various media outlets for their OUTRAGEOUS stories. What is wrong with that? How is that an attack on the First Amendment? We have laws that allow a person who is unfairly treated to sue the media – he’s not talking about creating new law using the courts (as Obama did, as Hillary surely will continue to do) – he’s talking about exercising his right to question obviously extreme and possibly unjustified attacks in the liberal media which, actually, may warrant a lawsuit.

  • Update on Stabbing in Minnesota Mall and the liberal efforts to pass it off as “workplace violence”.

Note some lunatic liberal leftist moonbats (and possibly anti-Trump folks) are still claiming we don’t know what the terrorist’s motivation was – or even if he was in fact a terrorist – despite the fact he named Allah during the rampage and asked people if they were Muslims to avoid killing any Muslims.

    http://www.sctimes.com/story/news/local/2016/09/17/reports-several-hurt-crossroads-center-incident/90607870/

The FBI is investigating the Crossroads Center knife attacks on Saturday as “a potential act of terrorism.”

Nine people were injured by an attacker who was killed inside the Macy’s store by an off-duty Avon police officer.

St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis identified that officer as Jason Falconer during a press conference Sunday.

A short time earlier, St. Cloud Somali-American community members identified the deceased suspect as Dahir Adan.

Leaders of the Somali-American community in St. Cloud gathered Sunday with his family and issued a statement of sympathy for the family and the nine victims of the attack.

Community leader Abdul Kulane said as far as the family and community know, the suspect did not have any history of violence. He was known as a smart, accomplished student at Apollo High School. He was a junior at St. Cloud State University, Kulane said. Adan was also working part-time as a private security officer, leaders said.

Anderson said the attacker, who was armed with a knife, reportedly made references to Allah during the attack and asked at least one person whether they were Muslim. But Anderson pointedly declined to call the attacks an act of terrorism, saying the motive isn’t yet known.

Like the police, Minnesota FBI spokesman Kyle Loven declined to say Sunday if investigators believe the attack was a terrorist act.

  • Poor Dahir – his Muslim handlers didn’t bother telling him that the 72 virgins were all young boys as they’ve run out of nubile female virgins due to the surge in demand and, once the young boys run out, they’ll use goats, sheep, whatever is available.

  • The Clinton Crime Family’s Credit Cart Fraud Scheme

Democrat Donation Fraud of various types isn’t new – it’s been going on for some time! Obama accepted dubious donations from the start. But this is even worse, as Hitlery is preying on her most vulnerable donors – the lower income ones.

    http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2016/09/credit-card-fraud-hillary-edition.php

Barack Obama’s two presidential campaigns pioneered the acceptance of illegal foreign donations. I first wrote about it in the 2008 New York Post column “Dubious donations.” In 2012 it was same as it ever was, or so it seemed. By September 2012 Peter Schweizer’s Government Accountability Institute had produced a 98-page report documenting the phenomenon. The silence of the mainstream media showed it was same as it ever was in that respect too.

This time around the Clinton campaign appears to have moved on to credit card fraud. That is the gist of Liz Crokin’s New York Observer exclusive “Hillary Clinton campaign systematically overcharging poorest donors.”

Well, I will concede this much. If true, the reported credit card shenanigans are far from the worst thing about either Obama or Clinton.

You haven’t explained what your goal for attacking Trump is other than Brad Thor (fail), Evan McMullin (fail), and the whimsical “That a candidate who champions liberty wins” (fail). So you are assisting in the “disastrous course of the country” as a so-called “conservative”. Congrats!

    Another classic.

Here it disingenuously tries to twist around one words into a falsehood…

    Evaded / ignored per usual.

You obviously don’t know what a “leftist” is.

The problem for it is that we’re talking about a moving target.

Trump Tilts Further Left With His Climate Change Stance
So he’s for touchback amnesty, single-payer healthcare, a childcare plan that is nothing more than expanded entitlements (an add-in from his daughter), a tariff on imports, is against fracking, and now wants to reconsider global warming.
    Sounds like the perfect candidate.

    For Democrats.

“There is still much that needs to be investigated in the field of ‘climate change,'” he said in response to the questionnaire. He suggested that the nation focus on efforts to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, rather than combating climate change.

In the past, he has called climate change a “hoax” created by the Chinese, but he also has said he supports local bans on fracking.

For most other conservative thinkers, the climate change… aka… “weather” debate has already been settled, and they recognize it as a wedge issue, in order to create broader government regulations.

That was a reasonable response! But only to a point. People who are left of Reagan are not automatically “leftists”, “progressives”, or any other left-wing label you wish to use. Reagan was a moderate conservative as well.

    *SIGH*
here we go again with it’s incessant game of wasting people’s time asking questions that have been ALREADY RESPONDED to.

Request #: Sorry, your turn to answer:
    1. How is Trump any different?
    2. Merely posting articles means nothing in that regard..

  • The fact is our government has been moving to the left for a long time so even the hardest core right winger is now decidedly left of where I wish they were more often than not.

  • Torcer

Moving left and making things worse.

This was the moment to have reversed that dangerous trend, but instead some INSISTED upon nominating another leftist.

BTW, this exchange illustrates exactly why it’s pointless to respond to it directly.

It had tried to disparage my remarks with regard to trump and instead of dealing with that point it goes off into another direction.

This aside from it’s incessant predilection of trying to distract with issues that have ALREADY been dealt with.

  • KirklesWorth

Oh well…welcome to adult life. Reagan moved his targets as well, so spare me your anti-Trump Hillary help.

  • KirklesWorth

Yeah, you’ve already made the “moving target” point which I called reasonable to a point. There’s still a lot of ground to travel before Trump reaches Hillary,

  • Mr. Freemarket

Clearly it was the will of Allah.

  • Mr. Freemarket

Another “crime spree” stopped by a good guy with a gun. Clearly those hiding in the shadows may have survived but lacked the tools to repel the attacker.

  • Mr. Freemarket

Another reason to vote for Trump…..
    Obama hates him.

  • This was the moment to have reversed that dangerous trend, but instead some INSISTED upon nominating another leftist.

This moment was no different than 2012 or 2008. Or any other election.

Except, perhaps, that with each election the left and their lapdog media wings have become better and shoving candidates down our throats we didn’t vote for, wouldn’t vote for and don’t want.

Along with that we see them getting better at voter fraud and better at preventing the reasonable safeguards (voter ID) that would help detect and prevent it.

You are correct that some INSISTED we nominate another leftist – those who committed voter fraud and pushed him over the top as the #1 Republican candidate, even though he’s quite left of anything that SHOULD reasonably be called a Republican. But as you have noticed, and others – including KirklesWorth – while he has taken the right stand on some issues, he’s wrong on others – the same thing that can be said of the Republican party’s last two nominees, Romney and McCain, at least. Bush II championed some decidedly socialist/leftist causes as well.

I remain open to some viable option being revealed before election day, but at this point it is becoming clearer that the primary objective is to stop Hillary and the only VIABLE alternative is to do what most did the last two elections – hold one’s nose, avert one’s eyes, and accept that we have to take a chance to stop the prime evil even though that means electing a potential lesser evil.

Do you have a better idea?

  • One more thing that both left and right are falling for here.

Like any candidate, though perhaps more than usual, Trump tailors his message to his particular target audience at the time. He is all over the map – as politicians unfortunately often are. This leads to the dangerous situation that we really don’t know what he will TRY to do once elected – will he keep his word on a specific issue based on what he said in one speech, the other, or the third?

But even the worst things Trump might do don’t seem near as bad, when they differ from what Hillary has PROMISED and is virtually SURE to do.

There is one slight saving grace no matter which of them winds up elected: Right now the Republicans have control of Congress, tenuous control, but still control. The down side of that is they’ve had it for a while now and have screwed it up. Will they grow a pair and put an end to this nonsense? Maybe it’s time for a Tea Party resurgence because at least they seemed to know what needed to be done.

I said, once Obama was elected with a Congress that did his bidding, despite leftist claims he never had a compliant Congress, or only had one for a few months, that surely the electorate would see the excesses and respond by moving back to the right, hopefully.

    My hopes were dashed.

If this keeps up those doing the voting to elect these idiots will get what they deserve and, unfortunately, the rest of us will be along for the ride.

Sooner or later we have to wake up and start dealing with this – if it’s not too late already.

  • I think Trump is rightly criticized for the facts that:

    1) He does overstate his case sometimes, straying into fantasy land with respect to what he will actually be able to DELIVER (either because we don’t know that Congress will go along OR the things he proposes may in fact not be realistic) so this sets him up for criticism which of course the left takes into their nonsense world and makes into things that are even more ridiculous than what Trump promised in the first place.

    2) He has a decidedly leftist/liberal track record and I agree with those who question his sincerity sometimes.

    3) He has done a number of seeming and actual flip-flops. However, that is politics – you make one level of promises when talking to your audience during the primaries and you really must pivot a little to keep the momentum during the general election. I’m not saying I approve of this, I don’t. But it’s a fact of life, like gravity, which I resent but grudgingly accept.

The charts you posted show two things – in too many disturbing ways Trump is no different than Clinton… which is the only thing that some of his (and your) critics seem to see. And what they DO NOT see are the critical ways he’s NOT like Clinton, at least if he keeps the promises he’s made (some of which he’s seemed to roll back a bit) previously.

We are truly screwed, no matter who gets in – but I still say without a viable, reasonable alternative – and you’re correct that your critics still have not provided one – there is no real choice, which was true with Romney, true with McCain and true with Bush II, the left’s #1 target, replacing Reagan, who they love to hate as well.

  • When has politics NOT required one to become a “moving target” – as I mentioned above. It is, sadly, now normal and to some extent necessary to present one position to win the primary election and to somewhat modify that position to win the general.

Was it like that before we were born? When did that start?

  • “Local bans on fracking” is essentially giving support for the idea that state and local levels should have some say in what affects them most. Now it’s a dangerous thing, because once you allow ANY group to be stupid you set a precedent for ALL to be stupid if they wish.

You point out, rightfully so, that when Trump has an audience that’s somewhat further to the left he says what he thinks they want to hear to try and get their support. This is what politicians have done, to some extent seem to have had to do, despite the fact I despise the practice and I feel everyone should, all my life.

    We’re back to this:

Clinton has made it quite clear she will continue the deliberate, wanton destruction of America.

Trump has waffled, we can’t really say what he will do on a range of issues, or at least try to do (Will Congress stand up to either of them?) but at least on some of the key, most important issues, we can hope Trump might still do the right thing – or less of the wrong thing, but we can’t say that about Hillary

So what viable third option do we have? We desperately need one. But nobody to date has outlined any.

  • OK, so instead of plowing the same ground over and over let’s try this:

How far will we let whichever person is elected go toward further destroying America before we wake up, wise up and change course back towards sanity?

And just how do we do that, anyway?

What options do we have – with a Congress that promised to put a stop to this stuff in place yet they do not deliver.

    Any ideas?

  • KirklesWorth

Get liberals out of the government. Unfortunately, some republicans quality.

  • Torcer

The problem is that we keep on falling for the same scam – a moderate runs and is championed by the media and then we get to the situation repeated this time around.

Perhaps we should learn from our mistakes, starting with the rejection of the politics of personal destruction.

  • In a desperate attempt to reverse Hillary’s coming crash and burn, the left is rewriting history again, claiming Trump was the originator and driving force behind the birther movement.

I say if the left tries to push the “Trump was a birther narrative”, hit back hard. I’ve already found sources that suggest a Clinton staffer in 2007 wrote a memo that did not overtly start the birther narrative but set the stage for it and did urge that Hillary should emphasize the fact she WAS born in America as well as another communication from another Clinton staffer that advocated the birther line of attack.

    And now this:

    http://www.mcclatchydc.com/news/politics-government/election/article102354777.html

2 Clinton supporters in ’08 reportedly shared Obama ‘birther’ story

Two supporters of Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign reportedly shared the claim that then-rival Barack Obama was not born in the United States and thus was not eligible to be president.

One was a volunteer in Iowa, who was fired, Clinton’s former campaign manager said Friday. The other was Clinton confidant Sidney Blumenthal, according to a former McClatchy Washington Bureau chief.:

    Now the big lie:

In fact, there were several people publicly pushing the theory, which was repeated extensively on conservative news outlets. There were the two Clinton supporters, but there is no evidence that Clinton herself or her campaign spread the story.

Clinton and her campaign used the story, encouraged it, though they did so more often than not in ways that did not overtly SAY it.

    http://www.politico.com/story/2011/04/birtherism-where-it-all-began-053563

That theory first emerged in the spring of 2008, as Clinton supporters circulated an anonymous email questioning Obama’s citizenship.
“Barack Obama’s mother was living in Kenya with his Arab-African father late in her pregnancy. She was not allowed to travel by plane then, so Barack Obama was born there and his mother then took him to Hawaii to register his birth,” asserted one chain email that surfaced on the urban legend site Snopes.com in April 2008.

    http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2016/08/18/hillary-clinton-original-birther-accuses-breitbart-birtherism/

Hillary Clinton, Original ‘Birther,’ Links to Obama ‘Born in Kenya’ Pamphlet in Campaign Fundraiser

On Wednesday, the Hillary Clinton campaign published a blog post suggesting that Breitbart News subscribed to the so-called “Birther” theory, which holds that President Barack Obama was born outside the U.S., not in Hawaii.
The post, “A real thing: Donald Trump just brought on the utterly extremist Breitbart News to run his campaign,” includes a link to Breitbart’s 2012 scoop that Obama’s personal literary agent promoted him for years as “born in Kenya, raised in Indonesia and Hawaii.”

Obama’s agent claimed that the story of Kenyan birth was merely a fact-checking error. Alternatively, it could have been approved by Obama — notorious for “composite” characters in his memoirs — to make himself seem more interesting. In either case, the fact that such information was circulating in literary circles is a likely reason that the “Birther” rumor existed at all.

But it took the Clinton campaign, and its frustrated supporters, to elevate that rumor to a political cause.

The Clinton campaign discussed targeting Obama’s “lack of American roots,” which led to campaign staff circulating a photo of Obama in Muslim garb. (The Obama campaign was not above such tactics, with a campaign memo referring to Clinton as “(D-Punjab),” due to her family’s financial links to India.) Later, Clinton supporters (though not the candidate or campaign, according to available information) began circulating the rumor that Barack Obama was born abroad. One, Philip J. Burg, filed one of the more notable lawsuits challenging Obama’s Democratic Party nomination (dismissed for lack of standing).

The story has been affirmed by, of all networks, MSNBC. Birtherism began “with [Clinton] and her campaign” in 2008.

Now, the 2016 version of the Clinton campaign wants to use Birtherism against Trump — or, to be precise, against Breitbart, covering up her own role in the Birther theory. How fitting for a candidate that only 11% of Americans consider honest.

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2008/feb/25/barackobama.hillaryclinton

Clinton aides claim Obama photo wasn’t intended as a smear

Barack Obama’s campaign team today accused Hillary Clinton’s beleaguered staff of mounting a desperate dirty tricks operation by circulating a picture of him in African dress, feeding into false claims on US websites that he is a Muslim.

Aides for Mrs Clinton, who is fighting a last-ditch battle to keep her hopes of the White House alive, initially tried to brush off the furore, but later denied having anything to do with the distribution of the picture. “I just want to make it very clear that we were not aware of it, the campaign didn’t sanction it and don’t know anything about it,” Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson told reporters. “None of us have seen the email in question.”

Obama and Clinton go to the polls in the Texas and Ohio primaries next week. If Clinton loses either, her bid for the Democratic nomination could be over.

Joe Scarborough: Clinton Was the Source of Obama Muslim Talk

The “birther” talk and Muslim accusations about President Barack Obama didn’t start with Donald Trump’s demands for his long-form birth certificate, but rather during the 2008 presidential campaign when Hillary Clinton’s camp planted the seeds, “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough said Monday.

“It started, this started, with Hillary Clinton and it was spread by the Clinton family back in 2008,” Scarborough said on his MSNBC program, slamming Clinton for criticizing Donald Trump’s refusal to shut down a supporter’s comments on Obama’s religion “when it all started with her and her campaign passing things around in the Democratic primary.”

    http://www.allenbwest.com/michele/heres-what-hillary-said-about-obama-being-a-muslim-that-shed-like-you-to-forget

Here’s what HILLARY said about Obama being a Muslim that she’d like you to forget

Oh, the liberal media and Everyone Who Wants to Take Down Donald are together having a FIELD day bashing him over not genuflecting and immediately apologizing after he did not correct a peeved American at a town hall meeting who asserted that President Barack Hussein Obama is indeed a Muslim.

Even Her Highness, Hillary Clinton weighed in on the discussion with a tweet bashing Trump, saying he ought to denounce such false statements.

Watch this exchange with on “60 Minutes” when Hillary was asked by Steve Kroft whether she believe Obama was a Muslim. Ooh there’s a stinger at the end.

Initially she denies it… but she adds “as far as I know”.

All true. In fact it’s more of a sum of positions on multiple issues than any single position on any single issue we have to consider – because no candidate gets it perfectly right and any that did would probably be unelectable in the current world situation.

I have some serious issues with Trump, but they are eclipsed by the much more serious issues I have with Hillary. Were there a candidate running who is A) actually electable in an real world scenario and B) better on the most important issues of our day than Trump, you bet I would vote for him or her.

  • You need to stop calling him “my friend” and stop being so critical of me. I give you both the same consideration. So far you’re the only one who keeps coming back at me with nonsense. You are pushing me towards being less sympathetic towards you – I’m not becoming more sympathetic to him.

  • I don’t generally take requests here, at least not when I’m asked to criticize someone else.

You say he is wasting, apparently, YOUR time – because you let him by responding to him.

I’ve already expressed my opinion on that to both of you.

When I feel it’s appropriate to respond to either of you, I will.

I’m not taking his side (as you seemed to suggest) and I’m not taking your side either. Both of you have made valid points, both of you have made some mistakes. That’s as far as I go.

  • the rejection of the politics of personal destruction.

You mean like rejecting those who take a bad candidate, a candidate that is nevertheless better than the alternative, and constantly attacking them and failing to point out any positive things?

    Yeah, I reject that.

I agree with what you say here, generally.

  • I think it was Torcer who made the valid point that Trump tended to bring a lot of that on himself by not being more careful what he said & how he said it.

However, good point. But I think some key issues are a better reason to RELUCTANTLY consider voting for Trump, who is far from the ideal candidate though, surprisingly, perhaps not so far as McCain might have been.

  • There are so many important issues that it’s hard to really decide which the key issues are – and even once we get that list sorted, can we trust Trump to do the right thing regarding all, most, or even SOME critical issues? That is the valid complaint the “NEVER TRUMP” crowd is bringing to the table.

Unfortunately they outright dismiss the FACT that we KNOW Hillary will do the wrong thing on every important issue I can think of right now.

So it is, unfortunately, another case of working to make ANY progress we can on important issues even if we risk going further backwards on others.

I don’t like it any more than anyone. I don’t like gravity either. But I deal with it.

  • Torcer

So what is my choice here?
Clearly it’s pointless to even respond to it’s questions since it will just come back with some other demand.
And with it’s authoritarian bent it has decided that responding somewhere else is verboten.

But you do raise a good point – I have responded to it ad nauseam repeated questions, so at this point I will simply ignore them.

  • Torcer

Sorry about that, but that was borne of my frustration at have to deal with it’s time wasting repetitive and pointless questioning.

  • Torcer

The problem is that with his polling on the rise with his moving to the left, he will no doubt continue the process.
He may be marginally better than the alternative but his moves perhaps could negate that.

The tragedy is that this didn’t have to be and it’s a worthwhile endeavour to discuss how to avoid such events in the future.

  • This video, starting at about the 50 to 55 second point, makes me think of Hillary trying to explain away the fact her ill health is becoming more and more obvious:

Exactly. Heck, Clintons do the wrong thing even on unimportant issues.

    Period.

  • One of the key issues in this election, the video below is a favorite of mine even though it is now dated – because it is even more true today than it was when it first came out. We KNOW Hillary will do all the wrong things because she’s consistently promised to do so. It’s true we can’t be SURE Trump will do all the right things, he has waffled a bit on some issues, but at least we can reasonably expect he will do better than Hillary.

Precisely. As noted to “Torcer,” Some wish to forever grovel in the sludge of Hitler/Naziism to the

“Der Fuhrer” in the context of Trump. STOP IT and face harsh reality. What lies ahead, if we don’t elect Trump, will make W.W. II pale by comparison.

Actor Jon Voight: Trump can make the impossible happen

But I do not dispute that those who say “BUT WILL HE” are asking a legitimate question.

  • I think that Trump says what he says, like many politicians, because he feels he must to gain votes. I doubt it will change what he was GOING to do – I think it’s all talk based on doing what he can to get elected. I agree his TALK will continue to go where he feels it must to win, but I also believe that he was going to do what he was going to do from day 1, no matter what he says. What he was going to do I have no idea. Hopefully it will be the things he said when I liked what he was saying, but perhaps not.

  • I’ve had to put up with a lot of obnoxious, persistent trolls – for way too long, because DISQUS had no way for me to prevent it. I would ignore them, they would still persist. I would ridicule them, they would still persist. I would invite them to have an actual adult, friendly, honest debate – they would refuse and persist.

Then DISQUS turned on the ability to block.

I now have ZERO obnoxious trolls. They can still see my comments but the fact they know I can’t see theirs makes them quickly go find someone else to hassle. Their whole purpose is to upset me and when I can’t see their posts, they know they fail for sure. SO they find someone else to harass.

  • Feet2Fire – The Deplorable

Oh, you think you’ve TRUMPED those of us who support a #NEVERHILLARY ticket, but your song and dance is old old old and nobody’s listening, except maybe for clowns over on TRS.

    Grow up and WAKE UP.

  • I’ve explained to you both what your “other choice” is:

    Block them.

They will quickly give up, knowing you can’t see their posts and they can’t get to you.

Or they will make a new account and continue their nonsense. Your response is to block them again, as many times as it takes.

Do not feed the trolls. Block them.

If you refuse to block them, ignore them. Responding to them encourages them. This is true about BOTH of you. Both you you tell me you respond because they do. All that needs to happen to put a stop to that is one of you needs to drop it. Block OR ignore them – two options you’ve had from the start that you refuse to implement.

  • Sometimes I show up after the comments are closed…

Disqus asked if there should be a dress code for teachers. But it’s too late to weigh in, that thread is closed now:

    https://disqus.com/home/discussion/channel-lovestinks/strictly_sex_teacherbae/

So I’ll just say yes, teachers need a dress code. Here it is, in a music video:

Teacher shows up, following my mandatory dress code, at about 1:49.

Sorry there Adolph I don’t know what a TRS is…but hey thanks for stopping by it is so rare to have a Trumpian come here to entertain us with their barked orders and such. “SCHTOP IT, ZAT ISS UN ORDAH”…too original not to be funny.

And, by the way, I’ll stop by (as is my wont) as often as I like. (Your name-calling and ugly attitude would fit right in with TRS.)

P.S. What year did you graduate high school–or did you? Your English/Composition teacher failed you, or you failed her class. Pathetic, when people can’t even write coherent sentences and know where to stop one and start another.

Uh huh. “Time wasting repetitive and pointless questioning” like “define Conservative principles”? To which I respond over 20 times “Hillary is the antithesis of conservatism and must be defeated. Correct?” that you won’t answer and reply with the question “How is Trump any different?”

  • KirklesWorth

Yeah, MAS has such thin skin that he/she claimed he/she blocked me on August 8, 2016 because apparently those who have contrary opinions are “trolls”:

MAS: “How’s your reading comprehension?” Good enough to realize that you belong on Breitump Disqus. Look, if you don’t like what Dave posts there are gobs of other sites to visit. Even if you don’t like when he slams your orange messiah but do like his other opinions move on to the next article.

“Sorry, I don’t find…(Dave)…to be very Trump-defending nor Trump-supporter defending” Umm so now you advocate it is Dave’s place in the blogosphere to defend Trump and his goon supporters? Wow, just wow. http://moonbattery.com/?p=74948#comment-2826763428

pst! FYI, ban hammer came down on few users around here lately 🙁 IQ is still around though… :-/

  • KirklesWorth

Thanks for the warning. I’ve been in contact with Dave Blount, and he knows I’m considered a “troll” by some of the anti-Trumpers who can’t debate (maybe by him as well), but I don’t threaten to kill people or call them names – so hopefully I won’t be on his radar.

  • skankhunt42

neither do i, yet look at me now 😉
though IQ kept calling me out for it all the time 😉
    stay vigilant! TRUMP 2016

  • Torcer

My point was that I was speculating on future events as I stated already.

The other point I’m endeavoring to point out is that with Comrade Clinton being such a weak candidate we could have done much better.

  • Torcer

And of course it cannot resist having to interject itself in to a conversation between adults.

But I supposed that will end up on as yet another list of where I instigated my own harassment.

  • Torcer

You’ve made some very good points – life is too short to deal with those who try to project their tactics on others.

  • Torcer

“How is Trump any different?” KirklesWorthTrump is different #1, Trump is different #2, Trump is different #3,

Did those take into account his latest proclamations?

Torcer will not answer these questions

Once again it is wrong – I’ve responded multiple times, but clearly it has no care for the truth

KirklesWorthand calls for help from Bodhisattva.

To explain my responses that it keeps on ignoring/evading.
Interesting how it omits that part and STILL fails to understand the point.

KirklesWorth1. (Asked 20+ times) Hillary is the antithesis of conservatism and must be defeated. Correct? It won’t answer
Once again it is wrong – I’ve responded multiple times, but clearly it has no care for the truth.

KirklesWorth 2. (Asked 20+ times) You are trying to get Trump defeated to what end?
Again, that is a loaded question – sadly you cannot fathom that idea.

    KirklesWorth It won’t answer.

Once again is is wrong – I’ve responded multiple times, but clearly it has no care for the truth

KirklesWorth It demands “plenty EXCERPTS and Links from authentic reference sites in your answer” or flip-flops when it is convenient to “Merely posting articles means nothing in that regard”.

So which way is it? It contradicts it’s own claims.
Interesting how it want to play it both ways – pretending a dearth of responses while it criticizes those responses..

KirklesWorth My comments are all in response to it’s claims, but claims that I am the one guilty of “time wasting and now pointless repetitions”. If it stops posting garbage, there won’t be any need for me to respond. And here it rationalizes it own behaviour in wasting everyone’s time.

It outright admits to asking the same question over and over and over and criticizes my responses but cannot take responsibly for wasting everyone’s time and bandwidth..

  • Torcer

Since it refuses to stop instigating this time wasting bickering I will block it as others should do.

  • Torcer

Perhaps this is true, but we must look at what he has done in the past and I’m not sure if that bodes wells for the future.

  • Torcer

Done – something everyone else should do around here.

We should have certain standards as to proper decorum and block those who cannot abide by the rules of adult behaviour.

  • KirklesWorth

Torcer: Sorry about that, but that was borne of my frustration at have to deal with it’s time wasting repetitive and pointless questioning.

And yet here you are making us “deal with it’s time wasting repetitive and pointless questioning.” The rules are for everybody else, aren’t they? But you did ask a question, and I will answer them even though you won’t:

Did those take into account his latest proclamations?

Good question. They are a month-or-so old.

But I supposed that will end up on as yet another list of where I instigated my own harassment.

And yet here you are instigating again as though you are an innocent victim. Tsk tsk.

Done – something everyone else should do around here. We should have certain standards as to proper decorum and block those who cannot abide by the rules of adult behaviour.

Then why are you here instigating after you just decried it?

    1. (Asked 20+ times) Hillary is the antithesis of conservatism and must be defeated. Correct? It won’t answer- responds with question “How is Trump any different?”
    2. (Asked 20+ times) You are trying to get Trump defeated to what end? It won’t answer – claims it is a “loaded question”., which it is not as trying to get Trump defeated is a fact – not a presupposition nor is it in dispute, nor would any such act be done without reason.

  • I am not sure either, though my position is we can not trust the past to be a good indicator of the future, nor can we trust what a politician says, particularly when they’re all over the map as he has been.

I do not blame those who cannot bring themselves to consider voting for him. I’m having a devil’s time trying to consider it myself.

  • Wise choice. I’m sure your time will be much better spent as a result.

  • I’m not lecturing you but I did say it in a roundabout way. Here’s the short version:

You seem well aware you’re not making any progress, only wasting your time and effort. The easy way out is to block him and start making posts that are worthwhile and might accomplish something. But if he keeps his word he’s going to beat you to it, if he hasn’t already.

  • KirklesWorth

You are right of course. But Torcer is a conservative on all points other than Trump as far as I can tell. And even being anti-Trump, its not a troll about it like 762×51. If it doesn’t post things needing correction or perspective, I won’t have to respond.

  • Torcer

The problem is not just voting – and I cannot indicate what I will do when the day comes around because even now I don’t know – but it’s also a question of Volunteering and donations.

In the past I have made thousands of phone calls and knocked on hundreds of doors for the candidates, including call for Congressional candidates( Cory Gardner for example).

This time around it’s different, I cannot bring myself to help the top of the ticket in this regard, and it’s highly doubtful many Conservatives will feel otherwise.

  • Torcer

Yes, I along with most others have better things to do… taking care of the little one.. writing on other subjects..

  • KirklesWorth
  • I am cleaning out my inbox, responding to comments I feel deserved one but that I didn’t get to due to my hectic schedule…

While I don’t understand those who SOMETIMES SEEM determined to bash Trump to the point of ensuring Clinton gets elected, you have to admit that many of their arguments are well grounded – Trump as SAID many things clearly intended to endear him to conservative audiences, but his ACTIONS suggest he’s much more liberal on a wide range of topics than his words would indicate.

I defend everyone’s right to have and state their opinion, even if it differs with mine. I encourage all to engage in reasoned, civil, adult, logic and fact based discussions and strongly advise all NOT to get into cycles of childish bickering that only make everyone involved look bad.

Even so, I still come close to falling into that cycle myself, if I’m not careful. But now, thanks to the DISCUS BLOCK, I’m much less inclined to do so. As soon as I see that developing I suggest to the other party we not go there, or that they need to stop the nonsense that leads there, and if they don’t take a hint I just block them.

What I don’t get is the claim that voting for the lesser of 2 evils is wrong, when we have no other choice. Yeah, I wish we had two different candidates, too. We don’t. We have two turd sandwiches, one with a dab of mayo, another with a dab of mustard. Trump is not GUARANTEED to be any better than Clinton, but for my money we do know that Hillary will LIKELY be worse and the only way to be proven wrong is to give Trump a chance and hope for the best. God help us if we’re wrong.

  • KirklesWorth

If only everyone was as civil and open-minded as you…unfortunately, taking up a Trump-defending position around here can result in personal attacks usually seen on liberal forums. Fortunately, a couple of anti-Trumpers have blocked me, so I can reply unmolested.
