Marvel’s insistence on using comic books as a ramrod to force moonbattery down readers’ throats has had a predictable effect on sales:
Marvel’s vice president of sales [David Gabriel] has blamed declining comic-book sales on the studio’s efforts to increase diversity and female characters, saying that readers “were turning their noses up” at diversity and “didn’t want female characters out there”.
Insulting fans by implying that they are snobs and sexists isn’t going to bring them back. Kids weren’t too sexist to read Wonder Woman comics. No one but a moonbat likes being force-fed moonbattery.
Irritating examples of P.C. proselytizing from Marvel include servile adoration of Obama, U.N. propaganda, replacing Iron Man with a black woman, a Muslim Ms. Marvel, a mulatto Spider-Man, Thor getting a sex change, Captain America beating up Tea Partiers and other patriots, and of course a homosexual superhero.
Has Marvel learned a lesson from the financial beating it has been taking? Not according to Gabriel:
“Let me be clear, our new heroes are not going anywhere! We are proud and excited to keep introducing unique characters that reflect new voices and new experiences into the Marvel universe and pair them with our iconic heroes.”
No wonder moonbats like socialism so much. The free market sends them signals that they don’t want to hear.
