India Grants Legal Person Status to Glaciers

If a river can be a person, why can’t a glacier? After all, both are made mainly out of water, just like people are. This apparently makes sense to the moonbats running India, where a court has granted the status of “legal persons” to Himalayan glaciers:

“The rights of these entities shall be equivalent to the rights of human beings and any injury or harm caused to these bodies shall be treated as injury or harm caused to human beings,” Uttarakhand’s highest court said in its ruling, according to AFP.

This gives the glaciers the legal standing to sue. Since glaciers are people only in the imagination of moonbats, humans will be designated as “legal guardians.” These guardians will not have to prove damage to real people, only to glaciers.

Flopping Aces asks,

So, do the glaciers have the “right” not to melt? Will the glaciers thus be able to sue to prevent any human action that might be perceived to be causing a melt or otherwise impact the ice, boulders, rocks, and dirt that make up glaciers?

Of course. That’s the point.

Flakiness leads to tyranny, tyranny to poverty. India has climbed a long way out of abject misery, but will slide back into it if it can’t get its moonbattery under control.

Yamunotri-glacier
Now ice can sue to impose poverty.

India was just jealous that NZ granted personhood to a river first.

    RACE YOU TO THE BOTTOM!

Since glaciers and rivers are water and so are lakes, and oceans as well as drainage ditches and storm sewers during spring runoff and rain storms, oh crap, how about rain? Are fog and clouds(mostly water vapor) also humans? If not, why are they racist against fog and clouds.

You folks go ahead and negotiate peace with these imbeciles, my brothers and I will keep stacking bodies until that crap works out. LMAO!!!!!!!!!!

  • JeffersonSpinningInGrave

Well, the leftist elites do keep saying we need a radical reduction in the human population. I’m not with them on that, but if they are going to insist…

“…any injury or harm caused to these bodies shall be treated as injury or harm caused to human beings,”

If I was in India, this would make me nervous about putting ice cubes in my drink.

  • KHarn

So if I an hiking on the glacier and slip, I can sue the REPRESENTATIVES of said “person” for damages?
Do they REALLY want to go there?

“… India has climbed a long way out of abject misery, but will slide back into it if it can’t get its moonbattery under control.”

Sounds GOOD to me! Those who insist on being willfully stupid and/or encouraging stupidity should have to suffer the full consequences of their stupidity.

“Those who cannot be seen as good examples must instead serve as dire warnings.”

  • Take The Red Pill

I’m ALL FOR an INCREDIBLY HUGE ‘radical’ reduction of the radicals and the Leftist human population — starting with their elites.

Not an iceberg’s chance in hell that an iceberg ever gets the chance to spend much free time in India.

So the issue seems mute, if idiotic, to me

  • Cecil Henry

Ah yes, its about money. The river means White people have to pay money.

In this case 100 million dollars. Socialism ends when you run out of White people’s money to steal

  • SNuss

Just wondering, how does a glacier file a lawsuit, or even select a lawyer?

    Exactly so.

If this goes as badly as I anticipate, there could be casualty rates as high as 85% of the population in the first 180 days of such a conflict, the majority through disease and famine which always cause more deaths than combat, unless you are attacked by the Mongol hordes. The objective is to make sure it is the correct 85%. Seeing as the highest rates will be in the cities, something like up to 30% in the first three weeks, that shouldn’t be too tough to achieve.

Not my prediction, check out Society Ending Events: The First 180 Days. I know the author and he is an expert in such things. I’m just the guy who provides acceptable kill ratios.

I say we start with Progressives.

Command and control is always the highest priority target. Eliminate that element and you remove the enemy capacity to successfully prosecute their war, and make no mistake, this is a war. Despite what the imbeciles will tell you.

I wonder if the families of the Titanic can sue them for creating icebergs.
