Poor Sales Force Marvel to Dump Black Lives Matter Comic

One reason moonbats hate capitalism so vociferously is that there is no escape from merciless market forces, no matter how deeply progressives bury themselves in their unreal realm of leftist idiocy. For example, Marvel Comics has been forced to dump its new Black Lives Matter comic:

[L]iberal darling Ta-Nehisi Coates and Yona Harvey’s Black Panther & The Crew is getting the axe after poor sales, just two issues after its launch. Its cancellation comes just weeks after a Marvel VP revealed that comics with forced messages of “diversity” were responsible for the publisher’s sales slump.

Joined by Luke Cage, Manifold, Misty Knight, and Storm, the titular superhero who entered the limelight with Captain America: Civil War gathers his all-black crew of superheroes to investigate the death of a civil rights activist who died in police custody. It has echoes of Sandra Bland’s death.

Set in a near-future Harlem-turned-police state patrolled by robotic police officers controlled by a private security contractor, the comic has every element you’d expect from a comic attempting to tell a story inspired by Black Lives Matter. The cops beat people up for no reason, too. …

Coates explained to The Verge that Marvel decided to kill the publication due to poor sales, and that there wouldn’t be any continuation after the current story arc ends in its sixth and final issue. The market spoke, and Marvel listened.

Gizmodo predictably barks in outrage over the series being canceled just because no one wants to read it, when the important thing is that all the characters are black.

No worries for Ta-Nehisi Coates. Even if comic book readers are too sophisticated to swallow his B.S., he can still keep shoveling it profitably for the Atlantic.

For crying out loud.

The problem from the get go was that the targeted demographic was more likely to shoplift the book rather than buy it

Great. Now we’re gonna hear a never ending drone of “comic book readers are racist” or “nerds are racist” chants.

It’s a truism in retail that black Christmas cards, for whatever reasons (fill in the blank ‘can’t_____, ‘don’t______, won’t______), don’t sell, not in general retail stores, not in black stores.

Aarrghh such crap. These liberal morons are desecrating something sacred on the altar of Liberalism. I was and am a big fan of the old and current Falcon and the Black Panther, but this &^%$ is so wrong on so many levels.

Maybe they should open a kiosk at a national park dedicated to BLM leaning stuff. And then they will learn about, ” no escape from merciless market forces” 🙂

It reminds me of this. 😉

Btw, I won’t be surprised of the rise of the “Alt-Hero” as blogger VoxDay mentionned.

The thing is, while the Marvel Comics version is (predictably) hogwash, the behavior of many police forces is in serious need to correction. That “Stop resisting” tag is something one runs into fairly frequently, in (checked out) stories of cops going completely mental on somebody for (for example) videoing them. There have been plenty of court cases that firmly establish that police have no expectation of privacy when performing their duty in public, yet they will still try to intimidate people into putting cell-phones away. And if intimidation doesn’t work, they all too often fall back on “you may beat the rap, you won’t beat the ride”.

BLM is a bunch of despicable black quislings, leading the rank and file to protest incidents where the cops are arguably not at fault. That doesn’t mean that the cops aren’t involved in far too much violent bullshit, and seldom suffer anything like appropriate consequences.
