Something I said, about this and other (medical) costs, long ago which, surprisingly, moonbats don’t seem to comprehend. When government starts subsidizing things, prices go up and those very people – the poor and lower middle class – that they say they’re doing it for are hurt the most!
Now think about this… If this is true – if the rich must pay more for the privilege of being American, and since, according to the Constitution, we are all equal under the law, then I guess the middle class and poor also must pay more for the same privilege, right?
This one didn’t really surprise me – after all, the place is overrun by moonbats!
D.C. is the best city in the country for people looking to cheat in their relationships, according to a website that facilitates adultery.
More people per capita in the D.C. metropolitan area sign up for the website Ashley Madison than in any other city, according to the site, which helps people looking to stray. Washington has the highest per capita membership among the site’s 13 million users, The Washington Post reports.
Obama locks up the illegal alien vote! The number of deportation cases filed by federal immigration officials dropped by nearly a third in the first three months of the fiscal year, according to a report by the Syracuse University Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse. From October through December, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement initiated 39,331 deportation cases in immigration court, down from 58,639 the previous quarter, the report says. Filings are typically lower during the holiday months, but even adjusted for the seasonal drop-off the numbers are significantly lower, according to the authors.

The Onion comes up with some great stuff – unfortunately, this one isn’t The Onion, IT’S TRUE!
No, Joe, we’re not tired of being tired – we’re tired of you, Obama, Reid, Pelosi, Frank, Dodd, Schumer, (several others I haven’t named but we all know who they are) and your ilk!
And this one could be straight out of The Onion, but it’s true too!
And why did he call them an “Axis of Evil”?
This is why.
This is why
(Technically, Syria wasn’t considered to be one of the countries included in the term, though they should have been because they both support and encourage terrorists and they have an active WMD program.)
Obama rushing to defeat in Afghanistan.
Why didn’t he just point out that by writing in the Korans the prisoners desecrated them and so burning them was a kindness?
The Koran does not include instructions for its own disposal and Mohammed never appears to have addressed the issue.

I hate to say it, but the fact is this:
Due to decades of observation, the science actually IS settled and the alarmists are proven absolutely wrong. The words “settled” and “science” really don’t belong in the same sentence, as far as I’m concerned, and so you can imagine how I felt when the (here, let me make it easier for you who still haven’t done the acronym for this one)
were claiming that “the debate is over” and “the science is settled” I can tell you that I came closest to losing it. Science is never “settled”, I shot back – but even I can be wrong, because there’s a valid and fully supported claim to be made that the so-called “skeptics” who I prefer to call “climate realists” have now and always have had a position which observation supports to the point it is pretty much settled: The alarmists were wrong, absolutely. If anything, even the very low estimate of “climate sensitivity” the climate realists agreed to accept as possible was probably an exaggeration, it turns out, and my own grudging acceptance that atmospheric CO2 levels might actually cause some warming after all – which apparently turns out to be false and I also want you to note does not mean that those atmospheric levels are anthropogenically driven, mind you – seems to be a bit hasty, a bit premature.
Because atmospheric levels are still rising and temperatures are not. If anything, temperatures are falling despite desperate attempts to manipulate the data to suggest that we’ve had “hottest years ever” which were far from it!
Obama Failed To Appear In An Adminstrative Court Again Today. Instead Of Issuing A Default Ruling Against Obama For His Failure To Appear, The Motion For A Default Ruling Was Flatly Denied. In Addition To Their Letting Obama Off Scott Free, The Ballot Challenge Was Unanimously Denied. This Is Totally UNACCEPTABLE! We Need To Revolt!
Drive A Volt
Let’s face it. None of the above facts are going to matter because by the time November rolls around, most of the American people will have been so distracted by the MSM that they won’t remember any of it. In fact, they won’t even remember the diversions “deliberately created” to keep them from thinking about all the very real problems we face. The Left knows how short an attention span the people have, and they know how to play it. It worked the first time and they’re betting it will work again.
If you listen to the campaign speeches the Marxist-in-Chief is giving almost every day now, and, if you’re one of the few people who can still think for yourself, you will have noticed the outrageous lies he’s telling, like, he’s the one who wanted the Canadian pipeline! That should tell you how very little respect he and his handlers have for the people, that he would tell such an obvious lie on national TV. Come Nov., we’ll find out if he’s right about We The People.

Bob, you really need to start your own blog. Anymore, I just see a wall of text from you and skip over it…
Why no sentient being should bother reading the NYT, ever.
If you didn’t get the thrust of my last post, the key sentence may have been this one:
if the error weakens a liberal case the paper was trying to make, getting the paper to correct it is like pulling teeth.
But if that is not enough for you to understand and agree with my thesis (that being that no sentient being bothers with the NYT, unless they need to line a birdcage or housebreak their new puppy, TRY THIS ONE as a perfect example.
I’ll quote a few of the terrible things the NYT seems to suggest would make one think Roberts was ineligible for a seat on the USSC:
Mr. Roberts was asked to draft a response to a letter to Mr. Reagan from a college professor who feared he might land on an alleged United States Information Agency blacklist for lodging a complaint about the agency. Mr. Roberts, in a memorandum to his boss, Fred F. Fielding, the White House counsel, noted in an aside, “Once you let the word out there’s a blacklist, everybody wants to get on.”
After the Supreme Court struck down efforts by Congress to veto actions taken by the executive branch, Mr. Levitas, a Democrat from Georgia, proposed that the White House and Congress convene a “conference on power-sharing” to codify the duties of each branch of government.
Asked to comment on the congressman’s proposal, Mr. Roberts mocked the idea, and him. “There already has, of course, been a ‘Conference on Power Sharing,’ ” Mr. Roberts wrote in a memo to Mr. Fielding. “It took place in Philadelphia’s Constitution Hall in 1787, and someone should tell Levitas about it and the ‘report’ it issued.”
This second, in particular, goes to the heart of the matter. Moonbats, Democrats, “liberals” and “progressives”, naturally, do not feel that anyone who is loyal to the Constitution should have any place or influence on our legal system and certainly should not ever sit on the Supreme Court!
The best they apparently could find to complain about was that Roberts apparently didn’t know how to spell Havana or Marielitos.
And hiram, I was pretty much thinking the same about you, so maybe we should partner up and do just that.
By the way – sock puppet alert – guess who!
Going back to the “lie” theme of Obama’s speeches highlighted in a past thread…
5 Biggest Whoppers In Obama’s Energy Speech
1. Obama claimed credit for increasing U.S. domestic production when in fact this is once he would have been right to blame Bush. FACT: While production is up under Obama, this has nothing to do with his policies, but is the result of permits and private industry efforts that began long before Obama occupied the White House. Obama has chosen almost always to limit production.
2. Obama repeats the lie that we use 1/5 of the worlds oil but only have 2% of the worlds reserves. FACT: We have a mind-boggling 1.4 trillion barrels of oil, enough to “fuel the present needs in the U.S. for around 250 years,” according to the Institute for Energy Research. The problem is the government (Democrats, MOONBATS) put most of this supply off limits.
3. Obama claims his attempts to invest in “clean” energy have caused output from those sources to nearly double. FACT: Production of renewable energy — biomass, wind, solar and the like — climbed just 12% between 2008 and 2011, according to the federal Energy Information Administration. And, as readers of this space should know by now, most of the companies Obama invested in, owned by his cronies that helped him get elected, wound up going bankrupt.
4. Obama: “We need to double-down on a clean energy industry that’s never been more promising.” FACT: Clean energy is no more promising today than it was when Obama promised his policies would “necessarily cause energy prices to skyrocket” or whatever exact words he used. Renewable energy simply won’t play an important role in the country’s energy picture anytime soon, accounting for just 13% of U.S. energy production by 2035, according to the EIA.
5. Obama says: “There are no short-term silver bullets when it comes to gas prices.” FACT: All it took under Bush was to announce a more aggressive program to produce domestically. When President Bush lifted a moratorium in 2008, oil prices immediately fell $9 a barrel.
And one bonus:
6. Obama said in his speech that Americans aren’t stupid. FACT: He was talking about Republicans and those who now realize they made a HUGE mistake when they voted for him.
This post was for you, hiram. Hope you enjoyed it!
I figured hiram might enjoy this comparison of monuments to our best and worst presidents!
Here is a potentially more permanent (?) link to the above graphic from my last post.
This page has a lot of really interesting graphs, one of which helps explain why hiram hasn’t managed to move out of his parents’ basement.
OK I think that should be enough to make my point. Now we sit back and wait for it to become obvious, even to hiram.

I thought the American left had decided America wasn’t exceptional. This is confusing.
OK I’m going to go out on a limb here.
The State Department has begun coordinating with Syria’s neighbors to prepare for the handling of President Bashar al-Assad’s extensive weapons of mass destruction if and when his regime collapses, The Cable has learned.
OK now we’re giving Assad plenty of time to take care of these WMD, just like we gave Saddam plenty of time – and in fact it was reported (though some no doubt will deny it) that Saddam sent a lot of his WMD to Syria or more specifically to their terrorist drones in Lebannon.
The point here is that WHEN we finally get off our tails and go to Syria to clean up this mess – and it will probably take a Republican win in 2012 to get that started – we’re looking at a very probable eventual replay of the “WHAT WMD?” argument.
Just forget how many DEMOCRATS said that Saddam and his WMD were a problem we couldn’t ignore, until Bush took them up on it, then suddenly it was “WHAT WMD?”!
(The link/list provided is by no means represented to be a complete list of all the Democrats who agreed with Bush about Iraq and it’s dangerous WMD, until they changed their minds and claimed he lied once they found it was politically expedient to do so.)
Here’s my 2012 bumper sticker:

LOL, quite clearly, you were wrong Duke! I’ll bet if Bob set up his own blog it would be very interesting. I would surely join.
That should tell you how very little respect he (BO) and his handlers have for the people, that he would tell such an obvious lie on national TV. Come Nov., we’ll find out if he’s right about We The People.
I’m afraid he will.
“We” the People are the problem. BO is just the court fool.
And that’s really a shame when you consider that petitioning often times gets elected officials to respond.
Regular 10 min calls to the congress would do it.
The Tea party proves that change in the right direction can occur, but the reason we are here today is because the American Sloth could not tear himself away from his TV long enough to make a 10 min call.

Bob Roberts says:
February 24, 2012 at 8:47 pm
The progressive income tax is fundamentally unfair, since it treats people unequally.
Consider that your income represents a certain portion of your time. In order to pay your taxes, you must work without compensation for a certain amount of time, whether that is 2 hours our of every eight hour day, or 3 months out of every year.
On the other hand, many people pay no federal income tax. Therefore, those who pay taxes are in servitude to those who do not.
It is a form of modern day slavery.
Geithner says the rich should pay more taxes because they enjoy the privilege of being American
What Geithner and others on the left forget is that people vote with their feet. High tax states have watched as those with the highest incomes have left for states with lower taxes. And the rich have more ability to leave than the poor, taking their wealth, their ideas, and often their businesses with them.
The poor are left behind, but now without the rich to keep their cities and states afloat.
Maybe the moonbats now wish they had built that big fence around the country to keep the rich in.
I hereby now bump this very amusing piece up bc it so infuriates Lao-Z (who watches my every move on Moonbattery) when I do this:
BO is like a chess-player who openly cheats against an opponent won’t stand up to him.
BO doesn’t have to know the rules, he just needs to put his pieces where ever he wants in order to control the board.
He has the black pieces in a very expense set.
He puts his pieces where ever he wants them, regardless of whether it’s his turn or not. When he wants an opponent’s square, he just takes the piece on it and says “that’s fair, MFer,…check!”.) And his opponent is always in check.
An audience of the cognitively mitigated who have paid no entrance fee, applaud his every move.
BO gets all the pawns (czars) he wants by replacing them even if they are not taken. His castles (golf-courses, vacations, WH parties, etc) are off-limits to his opponent. His knights (13-yr old Timmy Guietner and Big Sis Napolitano) can move in any direction in any pattern without explanation.
Interestingly, BO only plays with one bishop, Eric Holder – he threw his Reverend Wright piece away.
His queen comes from an entirely different set, a cheap, used plastic one bought at the Dollar Store. The queen doesn’t look like, and is ridiculously larger in size than all the other pieces. She is the most powerful piece on the board and BO bangs down hard on the board shaking up all the other pieces when she is moved, singing “Celebrate Good Times…C’Mon!!”
The rule book (the Constitution) has been discarded by popular request and bc neither player really understands it anyway.
Not that any of this matters. BO is imperious in the game. Every move he makes is applauded by his audience who likewise have no real understanding of the game, its history or its rules.
Essentially, you have a fool cheating on a game he can’t actually play, egged on by his court of personal fools. And while BO may have been given the game to play, he does not needs to understand the way it was actually meant to be played. In fact, that would be to his disadvantage.
If there is anything that you could attribute to BO in the way of understanding the game, it is that he just wants the board. Its a shiny object for him.
And bc he was given the game and never had to work to earn enough money to buy it himself, he feels entitled to win.
For the second time in recent history Obama failed to appear for an Administrative hearing.
Instead of entering a default judgment against Obama and holding him in contempt of court the Administrative Officers in Indiana found in favor of an absent defendant and threw the case out dismissing all the evidence and testimony as hearsay and inadmissible.
This is the second or perhaps third time that an Administrative Court has shown extreme favoritism towards Obama and extreme hostility towards the plaintiffs.

Jodie, thanks. I think it’s hilarious too. A friend in DC told me about it and it’s gone viral. Duke says: February 25, 2012 at 7:53 am
I didn’t think it was possible to hijack an open thread.
Hey hiram, how you doing?
By the way “Duke”, you might try learning what “hijack”, as in “hijack a thread” means. That’s something lao and his ilk do when he comes here. To “hijack” a thread I’d have to start posting things that Blount, the owner of the thread, would likely ban me for posting. He, as the owner of the thread, no doubt has access to my e-mail address and could easily send me one telling me to tone it down or whatnot. So far I haven’t seen anything from him asking me to do that or anything. If he asks, of course I will comply. Rather he sent what I interpret as tacit approval of my posting by picking up a lot of the things I post, much to the chagrin of hiram/Duke… lao?
So what, exactly, is it you claim is the definition of “hijack a thread” again?
Seriously, BR, are you holding Blount hostage in your basement, turning him into your internet slave?
Who’s munching those Cheeto’s in the background? Does Lao have to finish his chores before mom let’s him use the computer again?

Documents Show DHS Lied to Congress About Big Brother Policies
This is the second time or third time that an Administrative Court has shown extreme favoritism towards Obama and extreme hostility towards the plaintiffs.
Here Is An Interesting Quote From Represent Yourself In Court: How To Prepare & Try A Winning Case, Written By Attorneys Paul Bergman & Sara Bergman. Publisher NOLO 7th Edition, Chapter 1, Page 16.
“ALJ’s (Administrative Law Judge’s) do not normally have to follow the rules of evidence that govern court-room trials. For example you CAN (emphasis added ) offer hearsay evidence.”
need to change the “open thread” to the “bob roberts” thread
BO has also ignored a congressional committee subpoena for Solyndra and lied to another one on Fast and Furious activities.
To scratch the surface.
They’ve now let BO get away with so much criminality, its a foregone conclusion that he would ignore any district court order for representation.
But for a court abrogate the right of the people by refusing to hear evidence is insurrection.
These guys need to be over-ruled by a state supreme court immediately and then duly prosecuted.
Bob, I’m fine. No, I do not live in my parent’s basement; both of my parents are dead. Not only do I pay my own bills, I cover half of a siblings as well. I’m not a liberal, as you’d know if you paid attention; I’m a registered Libertarian. I’ve also been posting here since about 2005. When I do, I don’t post 22 times in a thread unless I’m actually having a conversation. I agree with Sinister, let’s just make it the “Bob Roberts” thread.
I do like the monument cartoon, though.
Oscar, Oscar, Oscar
Fastidious Felix Unger of TV’s “The Odd Couple” fame often expressed his frustration with his slovenly roomie Oscar Madison by sighing, “Oscar, Oscar, Oscar,” a frustration that could just as well apply to the Academy of Motion Picture Awards for its blatant liberalism and tireless adherence to politically correctness.
I, for one, don’t give a tinker’s damn who or what wins an Oscar at the 84th Academy Awards of Merit festivities on Sunday.
Not that it matters but no one seems to know the derivation of the term “Oscar.” What does matter is that the Academy Awards show is meaningless except insofar as it is probably the most vivid example of American shallowness, exalting movie stars to the level of demigods as exemplars of the best America has to offer the world and featuring some of the most superficial, most vapid human beings on the planet applauding themselves.
Let’s face it, actors and actresses gain fame and fortune by pretending they are someone else, mostly by acting as if they were whores or roues, or confused wives or philandering husbands, or by portraying average people caught up in life’s angst.
All that pretending eventually warps minds.
Nowadays, with some exceptions, few films depicting normality are contenders for Oscars and fewer actors and actresses nominated for acting awards are depicted as normal nor are they normal in real life. That is, unless you consider normality widespread use of illegal substances, bed-hopping, multiple marriages, and out of wedlock pregnancies as normal.
Is it any wonder movie-going has fallen off drastically or that American culture is slipping down the toilet with Hollywood as a role model?
Tinseltown’s elitists tend to choose as winners of Best Actor Awards people who reflect their own prejudices and leftist political views and pick the Best Picture on the same bases.
Years ago, Hollywood produced outstanding motion pictures, . . .(Read more at http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=14508.)
OK hiram, I actually wrote this just a scant few minutes after I read your post containing your claim you ALWAYS just skip over my posts. I knew pretty much what your next post to me would say. So I felt relatively safe going ahead and writing this before you made it.
After reading your post I intentionally included your name in several “speed posts” I made once I saw what you wrote then sat back to wait for you to read them and say something about me doing it. I knew I would likely not have to wait long. though there was a danger I would miss your response.
Now you probably need to sit down for this next bit because, dear hiram, I don’t post for you – I know, reading that you feel faint. How could anyone post anything without doing so strictly for your enjoyment, entertainment or whatever? Well, get used to it! I post not for you, but rather for the sentient folks who come by to see what Blount comes up with (apparently that excludes sinister, too) – and also those who know others who post here will no doubt post things that pique their interest. I post to pass things that I find important, interesting or amusing because I know that SOME of them will find SOME of what I post to be important, interesting or amusing. Some days I don’t post at all, others I post, yeah, too much.
Now I don’t always read what everyone else has posted first, so sometimes I post about a story or link that someone else has already posted. Even more often I see that someone else posts a link or story I’ve already posted, so I know I’m on target and doing well, particularly when Blount re-posts (and usually admittedly does so much better than my original, I might add) an item that I posted. In fact, you can find a case where he re-posted something I posted just beyond this thread but, for whatever reason, he missed that I posted it and gave credit to someone else who no doubt posted the same thing. No big deal – I don’t post here hoping to get hat tips and I’m just as happy to see anyone get the credit.
But you took it upon yourself to say you just skip over everything I post – but oddly enough you apparently read the posts where I mentioned your name, proving you’re also a liar, and not a very smart one at that!
So, no matter, sweet little hiram. I don’t post for you and I would actually RATHER you really DID just skip over what I post because I know you would struggle so to understand it all, perhaps overthinking yourself into a tizzy in the process. So don’t just go on claiming you don’t read what I post, even though you’ve clearly proven otherwise, but ACTUALLY STOP READING WHAT I POST, STOP POSTING TO ME and we’ll just move on!
That goes for you too, sinister, if that’s what is necessary.
And, note, Blount is the boss here. He can tell me to post less and I will gladly comply. I try, actually, to post multiple things in single posts – the system rejects those posts. It FORCES me to post each link, or only a few links (I don’t know the parameters Blount or the software sets) in individual posts.
Look, seriously folks, you’re welcome to skip over EVERYTHING I post and don’t take my little rant above too seriously. It was actually all in fun. I don’t care who does, or doesn’t, read what I post.
Hard to believe their are still assholes out there who would for the criminal Obama a second time.
I can forgive their first vote for him as a stupid mistake and the result of one of the smoothest cons ever played in the history of the United States. Their second vote however is treason which is punishable by death.
Some time later (note the date/time stamp) – I probably won’t be returning here so if anyone has anything USEFUL to add, do it on a more current thread unless you just like talking to yourself.
