Stephen Hawking: Trump’s Withdrawal From Paris Farce Will Cause 250° Temperatures, Sulfuric Acid Rain

The problem with professional doom-mongering is that you have to keep escalating the hysteria or people lose interest. Before long, your outlandish predictions exceed the credulity of the audience, and you find they are laughing instead of gasping in horror. Al Gore is one example. Another is Stephen Hawking:

“We are close to the tipping point where global warming becomes irreversible. Trump’s action could push the Earth over the brink, to become like Venus, with a temperature of two hundred and fifty degrees, and raining sulphuric acid,” he told BBC News.

“Climate change is one of the great dangers we face, and it’s one we can prevent if we act now. By denying the evidence for climate change, and pulling out of the Paris Climate Agreement, Donald Trump will cause avoidable environmental damage to our beautiful planet, endangering the natural world, for us and our children.”

Looks like Trump withdrawing from a farcical agreement that had zero chance of perceptibly changing the weather could put an end to life on earth. Not even the “mainstream” media could top that one.

Excitement filled the royal hall. Rumors had been circulating for months. The great blind sage was about to announce his latest findings. At last, the people would know the answer to one of the deepest scientific mysteries remaining on the planet—how light propagates.

Interest in science ran high on planet Krypton. The people had a deep and abiding desire to know about their origins and to understand the nature of the universe around them. So people of science were held in high regard, even more so than the governors. Some said that the great sage, the wisest of all scientists, was even more beloved by the people than the emperor. But then the emperor had that eccentric habit of wearing no clothes during public processions, which cost him some popularity.

Calela was there with her father. From school she knew full well that almost all the mysteries of the universe now had theories to explain them. But the one mystery which had eluded the best efforts of the planet’s top scientists concerned the propagation of light. For light seemed to move about in the manner of waves through some medium. Yet no trace of an actual medium had ever been found.

Most puzzling of all, when light came from a moving source, its speed of arrival was found to be no different than when it came from a stationary source. This was in sharp contrast to all non-light material entities, for which the speed of the source affected both the transit time and the measured speed upon arrival. But light must propagate in some truly wondrous way to behave so oddly.

And now, as Calela waited with the others, the great sage was about to reveal to the people how this was possible. “How did the great sage come to be so wise, father?” Calela asked.

“The people say it is because of his blindness,” her father replied. “Perhaps his blindness enables him to understand and reason about the wonders of nature more clearly than sighted people can, because of all the distractions which come with ordinary vision.”

“That is an odd thing,” Calela thought. “How strange that a man who can see no light has been able, by the powers of his mind alone, to understand and explain something about the nature of light which no sighted scientist has been able to do.”

Just then a hush came over the royal hall as the emperor himself appeared. Striding to the podium, he was greeted with vigorous, if brief, applause. In his introduction for the great sage, the emperor took pains to point out the support provided by the state to this marvelous man. “The state’s support,” he assured everyone, “is in no small measure responsible for the success story about to be told!”

All eyes and ears were now focused as one. The great sage himself appeared and was led slowly to the platform. The applause of anticipation and admiration greeted him. Calela and her father joined in. The great sage looked only a bit different than in the recent film about his life and accomplishments. As the applause finally subsided, the great sage began to speak. His words were wondrous.

Space itself, he revealed, was the medium in which light propagated. Bodies with mass were able to curve the space in which they resided, and to slow the rate of progress of time. The greater the mass, the greater the curvature of space and the slowing of clocks. When light came near a mass, its path would be bent because it must follow the curvature of space. Light passing by a mass would be delayed in transit because of the slowing of time.

He went on to explain that when a light source moved, the contraction of space and slowing of time which accompanied it ensured that the speed of light would be the same as measured by all observers, moving or not. “This is a very hard thing for me to understand,” Calela whispered to her father. But most of the people had begun to nod in approval of the great sage’s wisdom.

“He has indeed done it!” said someone nearby. “Everything about the propagation of light is now explained!” “Nature is even more complex and fascinating than we guessed!” said another. A feeling of great joy came over the royal hall as the solution to the mystery unfolded. The greatest remaining puzzle about the nature of the universe was a puzzle no longer.

As the realization dawned that the great sage had truly done what everyone had hoped for, a thunderous applause broke out. It continued uninterrupted for several minutes. Then the great sage was slowly led away. But the applause grew louder and continued even after the wise man had disappeared from view.

The emperor, applauding with the rest, returned briefly to the platform and spoke just a few more words as soon as the applause had died down a bit. “I will this day nominate the great sage for the Majestic Award, in recognition of this achievement!” The applause erupted again and continued until the people left the royal hall, for the Majestic Award was the most noble prize on the planet.

As the people dispersed, Calela asked her father, “Does everyone understand this new theory? Is there no one who doubts it?”

“What does it matter if we cannot all understand a theory, as long as the great sage and the elder wise men understand it and agree?” said Calela’s father. “Besides, even if he weren’t the great sage, who would be so unkind as to criticize the life’s work of a blind man?”

    Uhhh…..gee, Stephen…..

I’m no genius like you, but even I know that the atmosphere of Venus is around 95% carbon dioxide vs. Earth’s atmosphere that is 0.04% CO2. And yes it’s a lot hotter there vs. here on Earth because of that in part, and then of course, there’s that small matter of Venus being so many millions of miles closer to the Sun.

Even if all the dire predictions about mankind’s contributions to atmospheric CO2 were to come true, and we somehow manage to increase the concentration to closer to 0.05% (very unlikely), we would still need to find a way to increase it over 2,300 TIMES what it is today for the atmosphere to match that of Venus.

Please stop with the stupid comparisons to Venus and this constant, mindless alarmist B.S.!

Trump’s Paris Climate Announcement: You’ve Been Played Again..Therefore, any recognition, on the part of the Trump administration, of a need to tax or mitigate CO2 as a means to deal with climate change, is an insult to the truth, a slap in the face for those who supported him, and another knife in the gut of liberty.

Trump’s announcement is anything but a defeat for leftist / environmentalist extremist scam artists who stand to make a fortune off of carbon emission caps by taxing people for their use of the air. Nor is it a win for the patriotic Americans, who care about their individual liberty. First, it is necessary to point out that Trump did not and could not pull us out of the Paris Climate Accord, because as a nation, we were never actually in it.
Treaties have to be ratified by the U.S. Senate.(and must be Constitutional) Since this one wasn’t, “pulling us out” amounts to nothing more than a symbolic political move.

Secondly, for those celebrating the President’s courageous, moral fortitude
to do the right thing for our country and its people, perhaps you should listen
more carefully to what the president actually said. Quoting from the
    speech:

“In order to fulfill my solumn duty to protect America and its citizens,
the United States will withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord but begin
negotiations to reenter either the Paris accord or an entirely new transaction
on terms that are fair to the United States, its businesses, its workers, its
people, its taxpayers. So we’re getting out, but we’ll start to negotiate, and
we’ll see if we can make a deal that’s fair.”We’re getting out, but we’re
going to negotiate our way back in? That doesn’t sound very encouraging. The
reality is that Trump is bowing to the global warming propagandists,
Establishment fake news media, and the bogus “consensus” of anthropogenic
greenhouse warming. The notion that mankind is damaging the environment by
emitting too much CO2 is based upon nothing more than fraud
and a massive media proganda campaign. The only “deal” that would be “fair”, is
no deal at all! Giving any ground in this arena is legitimizing a fraud upon the
American people and is a tyrannical and grevous injustice to the People —
especially those who trusted Trump to do the right thing. But you wouldn’t know
that by listening most talk show hosts who are turning more flips than a Barnum
& Bailey circus acrobat. I wonder how many of them actually read the
    agreement.

Therefore, any recognition, on the part of the Trump administration, of a
need to tax or mitigate CO2 as a means to deal with climate change, is an insult
to the truth, a slap in the face for those who supported him, and another knife
in the gut of liberty. We don’t need renegotiated climate agreements any more
than we need to renegotiate NAFTA. These international instruments were evil
from beginning to end, and the only solution is to forever kill them.

  • Trebuchet

Apparently Hawking’s illness has spread to his brain. Or does he really think Trump is somehow going to shift Earth’s orbit to half its distance from the sun, which is what it would take to “turn Earth into Venus”?

Sad that a once brilliant mind has gone off the deep end.

    Caution, conspiracy theory warning.
Whether you choose to believe in conspiracy theories (mainly, I don’t) they are always worth mentioning in case they contain a grain of truth.
Here goes, hold onto your tin foil hats:

Stephen Hawkings died years ago. His illlness killed him, but he is being kept alive (either by using a body double or by wheeling his corpse out now and again). He was a brilliant physicist while alive, but now he is being used as a mouthpiece for fake science. After all, he never moves a muscle and speaks through a machine.

Second version: He really is still alive, but he is either saying something different and they are editing and twisting what he says (again, how would we know?) or he is a vegetable and says nothing. Somebody else is typing in his voice machine and saying what it is they want to say, using Hawking as a front.

  • littlefish

hope he does not travel to Holland any time soon he looks like someone they would like t take care of

  • mas2

Actually, I was wondering about the possibility of your second version as well. As you say, how would we know?

  • Momster

Dear Dr. Hawking, your crowd already tried using the “acid rain” scam on us…it didn’t take and the tried again with somehing else. I believe it came in between the ozone hole and the new ice age.

  • Leonard Jones

The man is, and has for a long time been a turnip! His handlers are using
the long discredited technique of “Facilitated Communication.” It is basically
a high tech version of an Ouija Board, where the “Facillitator” is doing the
    communicating, not the subject.

If one simply does the math, it all falls apart when you come to realize his
communication is via a single switch mounted at one of his cheeks. With it,
we are told to belive that he can scroll through and select thousands of
words in the course of a short speech.

In truth, his cheek would be flapping like butterfly wings and EVEN THEN,
it would take an entire lifetime for him to compose a single one of his many
books! He was already a string theory multiverse crackpot even BEFORE
he lost his ability to speak. But to attribute these words to Hawking is to buy
into the lie that he can even think, let alone communicate with others!
