Disaster: Trump Looks to Follow Democrats to Abolish Debt Ceiling Altogether
In a move that should surprise no one who understood who Donald Trump was before the 2016 election cycle commenced, it seems the President is actually open to working with Democrats to eliminate the “debt ceiling” altogether. This would, ostensibly, allow the U.S. government to do what it does best – spend money it doesn’t have thereby racking up more debt – with no corresponding vote by Congress to allow it.

A violation of the Constitution’s Article I designation of Congress as the branch that controls all government spending? Yes. A violation of basic fiscal morality? Absolutely. The exact opposite of everything conservatives have been saying for decades now about the irresponsible, out-of-control debt accumulation of Washington, D.C.? Uh-huh. An economic death sentence for our children and grandchildren? You bet.

And Donald Trump seems totally open to it:

“It could be discussed,” Trump said. “For many years, people have been talking about getting rid of [the] debt ceiling altogether.” … Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin has suggested scrapping the existing debt-limit process and replacing it with one that automatically lifts the borrowing limit every time Congress appropriates future spending.

This gleeful Washington Post report subtitle read, “Trump confounds conservatives by siding with Democrats.” The only conservatives confounded by it are those who willfully suspended their principles and reason during the campaign. The rest of us saw this coming a mile away.

  • Maurice Miner

Look, Trump is a businessman who has used debt properly all his life – use debt for income-producing results, use the income to pay off the debt, bloody brilliant, eh?

HOWEVER, in Government, nothing at all is income producing, apart from toll-roads, airport fees, and generally raising taxes.

Trump (and I’m afraid, the entire world) is going to get an object lesson as to why debt actually matters.

  • RKae

Debt is like kiddie porn: Asking, “How much can I have before it’s ‘a problem’?” isn’t a sane question.

  • The debt ceiling was imposed by Congress and can be eliminated by Congress. There is nothing in the Constitution that requires a debt ceiling. Spending will still require a vote by Congress. No branch or entity of our government can spend a penny that Congress hasn’t voted to allocate to them.

WHAT’S WRONG WITH NANCY? Orders LGBT group to clap for Obama, laments ‘bulleting’ of youth

What is wrong with Nancy Pelosi?

That question is coming up again as the House Minority Leader was seen on Saturday repeatedly telling the GLAAD audience to clap and botching simple words.

  • DId “global warming” save Florida?

    Nope.

Just the good old Bermuda High, a WEATHER system.

    https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-09-11/-150-billion-misfire-how-forecasters-got-irma-damage-so-wrong

Twenty miles may have made a $150 billion difference.

Estimates for the damage Hurricane Irma would inflict on Florida kept mounting as it made its devastating sweep across the Caribbean. It was poised to be the costliest U.S. storm on record. Then something called the Bermuda High intervened and tripped it up.

“We got very lucky,” said Jeff Masters, co-founder of Weather Underground in Ann Arbor, Michigan. If Irma had passed 20 miles west of Marco Island instead of striking it on Sunday, “the damage would have been astronomical.”

By one estimate, the total cost dropped to about $50 billion Monday from $200 billion over the weekend. The state escaped the worst because Irma’s powerful eye shifted westward, away from the biggest population center of sprawling Miami-Dade County.

The credit goes to the Bermuda High, which acts like a sort of traffic cop for the tropical North Atlantic Ocean. The circular system hovering over Bermuda jostled Irma onto northern Cuba Saturday, where being over land sapped it of some power, and then around the tip of the Florida peninsula, cutting down on storm surge damage on both coasts of the state.

“The Bermuda High is finite and it has an edge, which was right over Key West,” Masters said. Irma caught the edge and turned north.

  • Hillary still blaming everyone but the one person most responsible – HERSELF – for her loss:

CLINTON BLAMES COMEY, RUSSIA, WIKILEAKS, FACEBOOK, FAKE NEWS, VOTER ID LAWS, SEXISM, AND MISOGYNY FOR LOSING

She did make one good point. Voter ID laws prevented her from stealing more states with illegal, fraudulent votes and did cost her the election in that respect.

  • More proof Southern Poverty Law Center is a HATE GROUP:

    https://www.wsj.com/articles/what-its-like-to-be-smeared-by-the-southern-poverty-law-center-1505171221

What It’s Like to Be Smeared by the Southern Poverty Law Center
I paid a professional price when the group attacked me in 2009. Now I wear its mud as a badge of honor.

When Morris Dees and Joseph J. Levin Jr. started the SPLC in 1971, it was needed and it had noble goals. In recent years, however, it has become a tool of the radical left. Domestically, it uses its influence to paint with a broad brush that smears immigration restrictionists, orthodox Christian churches and pro-family organizations as “hate groups.”

What landed me in the SPLC’s crosshairs was a Sept. 10, 2009, Huffington Post blog entry titled “Mission Creep and the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Misguided Focus.” I pointed out the SPLC’s silence about video footage released after the 2008 elections showing members of the New Black Panther Party, decked out in full paramilitary regalia, patrolling a polling precinct in Philadelphia where they were clearly intimidating white voters.

Although several news organizations covered the story, the SPLC ignored the incident. At the time, the law center was spending an inordinate amount of time attacking then-CNN host Lou Dobbs for his relentless focus on illegal immigration. It demanded that CNN fire the anchor. After CNN and Mr. Dobbs parted ways, the SPLC took credit for getting him off the air. I ended my post with a one-liner that raised the ire of the organization and had a devastating effect on my life. I wrote: “Rather than monitoring hate groups, the Southern Poverty Law Center has become one.”

The SPLC’s retaliation was vicious and effective. On Oct. 17, 2009, my photo appeared on the front page of my local newspaper, the Tennessean, with the headline “ Carol Swain is an apologist for white supremacists.” That was a quote from Mark Potok, at the time the SPLC’s national spokesman. The context for Mr. Potok’s attack was a review I gave for a film titled “A Conversation About Race.” I endorsed it for classroom use because it offered a perspective on race rarely encountered on university campuses. Mr. Potok argued that the filmmaker was a bigot. I felt then and now that the perspective needed to be heard.

This negative article was featured on the front pages of several newspapers and it went viral, especially in black media outlets. The attacks did not subside until this newspaper’s website published a lengthy article titled “In Defense of Carol Swain.”

Being targeted by the SPLC has had a lasting impact on my life and career. Offers from other universities ended and speaking opportunities declined. Once you’ve been smeared in this way, mainstream news outlets are less likely to cite you as an expert of any kind.

Yet today I wear the SPLC’s mud as a badge of honor because I know I am in the company of many good men and women who have been similarly vilified for standing for righteousness and truth. Other SPLC targets have included Ben Carson (who eventually received an apology and retraction), Somali refugee Ayaan Hirsi Ali, terrorism expert Steve Emerson, political scientist Guenter Lewy (who successfully sued the SPLC), attorney Robert Muise, Frank Gaffney of the Center for Security Policy, and Princeton professor Robert P. George. The SPLC has tagged Mr. George, a devout Catholic intellectual, as “anti-LGBT.”

    WHEN MOONBATS ATTACK… OTHER MOONBATS!

    https://www.mediaite.com/online/its-official-broadway-hates-michael-moore/

It’s Official: Broadway Hates Michael Moore

It hasn’t been a good day for Michael Moore.

Yes, the reverberation of Donald Trump Jr. owning his ample ass on Twitter is still being felt with each successive re-tweet as the left-wing provocateur flailed wildly in his attempt to politicize Hurricane Irma, but that’s not even the worst part of Moore’s miserable Monday.

Moore’s awful day was really destroyed when he saw the weekly grosses for his one-man Broadway show and realized how thoroughly he has been rejected by the New York theatre audience.

This week’s figures won’t be made public for another couple days… but we hear it’s pretty ugly.

According to Broadway World’s reporting of the weekly gross receipts for the run of the limited engagement production,”The Terms of My Surrender” is in a downward spiral with numbers consistently at less than half of the show’s potential.

It’s pretty clear: Broadway (like much of America) hates Michael Moore.

  • Clinton cites a study – that has been proven FALSE – for the reason she lost Wisconsin:

    http://ntknetwork.com/clinton-cited-false-study-as-reason-she-lost-wisconsin/

Clinton Cited False Study As Reason She Lost Wisconsin
In “What Happened,” Clinton falsely alleged that Wisconsin’s new voter ID law prevented 200,000 people from voting.

Clinton’s claim that Wisconsin’s new voter ID law reduced turnout by 200,000 votes is “mostly false,” according to the independent fact-checking outlet PolitiFact.

PolitiFact scored this claim as “mostly false,” in May when Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) alleged, “Voter turnout in 2016 was reduced by approx. 200,000 votes because of WI’s photo ID laws.”

    PolitiFact wrote:

A report she cites from a Democratic candidate-supporting group says a decline in voter turnout between the 2012 and 2016 presidential elections in Wisconsin was entirely due to the state’s new photo identification requirement for voting.

But experts say that while photo ID requirements reduces turnout to some extent, they question the methodology of the report and say there is no way to put a number on how many people in Wisconsin didn’t vote because of the ID requirement.

We rate Baldwin’s statement Mostly False.

Clinton, who spends much of “What Happened” blaming her election loss on ‘fake news’ apparently relied on ‘fake news’ to source her faulty claims.

Then again it is LIKELY that Wisconsin’s voter ID laws prevented busloads of lunatic left wing moonbats from being driven to Wisconsion from other states so they could engage in same day voter registration and voting.

  • Don’t look now, but the occu-tards are coming back!

    http://ntknetwork.com/trump-protestors-planning-years-long-occupy-movement-in-americas-cities/

Trump Protestors Planning Years-Long ‘Occupy Movement’ in America’s Cities
“[T]he plan is to occupy city centers and parks and not leave until, and only until, Trump and Vice President Mike Pence have fallen.”

Organizers are hesitant to label the upcoming protests as “Occupy 2.0,” given that the so-called “Occupy movement” achieved no actual results.

The flow chart of their plan is:

    A: Occupy various areas

    B: ?????

C: Trump and Pence forced to leave office.

Granted it is a construct of the Congress, but it’s akin to having brakes on a vehicle.

The real issue is what is to be done about the overall question of debt.
I’ve always postulated that the debt is merely a wealth redistribution method in slow motion. Other people’s money being taken at gunpoint and used to buy votes in a virtual sense.

Under the precepts of Economic Slavery debt is a drag on the economy.
