The army of the emboldened and gleefully ill-informed is growing. - Andrew Breitbart

  • The Roy Moore incident – Republicans doing what Republicans do best – sabotaging any chance to right the wrongs of moonbat liberals.

For ONCE they ought to use Democrat tactics and point out that his sexual habits are none of anyone’s business and besides these allegations are obviously FAKE.

A “vast left wing conspiracy”, to coin a phrase.

And if all else fails, they need to remind voters he was a DEMOCRAT back when he allegedly did these things.

Man charged with impregnating minor thought paternity determination would block his deportation.

As an ILLEGAL immigrant, Horacio Alvarado thought if he could show he was the father of a newborn American citizen, he would be allowed to remain in the United States himself.

But the paternity test ultimately resulted in more severe charges for Alvarado because the mother of the child was only 15 and was his stepdaughter, according to a criminal complaint.

Alvarado apparently believed in the so-called anchor baby myth, that having a child born in the U.S. might protect illegal immigrants from deportation. It does not, even when the birth is not itself the result of a felony sexual assault.

Lawmakers describe pervasive sexual harassment on Capitol Hill.

Efforts to combat sexual harassment on Capitol Hill gained momentum on Tuesday as female lawmakers shared stories of male colleagues engaging in predatory behavior.

Lawmakers in both parties had already expressed support for mandatory sexual harassment awareness training, which is currently voluntary for legislative branch staffers. But they went further in a House Administration Committee hearing on Capitol Hill’s harassment policies and said even more can be done in a male-dominated workplace where sexual harassment can be pervasive.

Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.), in testimony before the panel, said at least two current members of Congress have engaged in sexual harassment.

“In fact, there are two members of Congress, Republican and Democrat, right now, who serve, who have been subject to review or not have been subject to review, but have engaged in sexual harassment,” said Speier, who declined to name the male lawmakers.
Rep. Barbara Comstock (R-Va.) offered another example. She shared a story of a male lawmaker — still in Congress — who asked a young female staffer to bring materials to his residence. He opened the door dressed in only a towel, invited her inside and proceeded to expose himself.

The staffer subsequently quit her job.

“That kind of situation, what are we doing here for women right now who are dealing with somebody like that?” Comstock asked.

Speier had previously shared her own experience of having a chief of staff forcibly kiss her when she was working as a congressional staffer in the 1970s.

Since then, Speier said she’s received a multitude of calls to her office from people sharing their own stories of sexual harassment on Capitol Hill.

Those stories ranged from comments asking “Are you going to be a good girl?” to harassers exposing their genitals and grabbing private parts on the House floor.

Rep. Linda Sánchez (D-Calif.), a member of the House Democratic leadership, told The Associated Press earlier this month that a male colleague had ogled her and touched her inappropriately on the House floor when she first began serving in Congress.

Sánchez declined to name the lawmaker when asked about the incident on Tuesday. She never filed an official complaint, but learned to avoid being near him.

Since then, Sánchez told reporters, she’s advised newer members to do the same.

It’s hard to hold harassers accountable to their constituents if no one will name them publicly.

Or if the allegations only come up during critical Senate races… and each time an allegation is proven false, a new one pops up that’s worse.

    http://ntknetwork.com/15-million-in-taxpayer-money-has-been-paid-out-to-settle-congressional-sexual-harassment-suits/

$15 Million in Taxpayer Money Has Been Paid Out to Settle Congressional Sexual Harassment Suits.

We need to claw back those payments from the people who’s behaviors caused them.

Rep. Jackie Speier (D-CA) informed NBC’s Chuck Todd on Tuesday that $15 million in taxpayer money had been paid out over the years to settle sexual harassment suits filed against members of Congress.

Earlier in the day, Speier testified in front of the House Administration Committee that two members of Congress, a Republican and a Democrat, have engaged in sexual harassment in the past.

Todd asked Speier about her allegations of sexual harassment and what she believes her responsibility is in going public with that information.

“Well, it is my responsibility to address the seriousness of this issue. These survivors are subject to a non-disclosure agreement. I’m not going to violate their non-disclosure agreement,” Speier responded.

“I think moving forward we have got to take steps to make sure that there is transparency. That in fact, the harasser is not going to have the settlement paid for out of the U.S. Treasury and have all the taxpayers paying for it. It should be something that is paid for by the individual.”

Todd followed up by asking Speier if taxpayer money has been used to protect the identities of these members of Congress.

“One member of Congress has been – has settled a claim, and there has been a taxpayer settlement,” Speier told Todd.

Todd asked Speier if taxpayers have a right to know to know about these settlements.

“Well, I think you do have the right to know. But right now, under the system, you don’t have a right to know,” Speier informed Todd. “We do know there is about $15 million that has been paid out by the House on behalf of harassers in the last 10 to 15 years.”

Todd seemed flabbergasted by the amount of money that had been paid out over the last 10 to 15 years.

    As he should be.

We need to identify those responsible for these payouts and put them on mandatory payback plans.

  • And now for the “I don’t believe it for a second” department:

‘Socialist’ doctor ‘assaulted’ Kentucky Senator Rand Paul because the congressman’s trees were ‘in the way’ and were ‘devaluing his $740,000 home that he is desperately trying to sell’
Rene Boucher, 59, told neighbor Rand Paul that he hadn’t been able to sell his house for ten years because of the woodland behind Paul’s property
The trees apparently block Boucher’s views of the picturesque private lake that forms the centerpiece of their upscale gated community in Bowling Green, KY
DailyMail.com can reveal the two men’s lots houses are about 250ft apart, separated by a lawn rather than a wall or fence
Property records confirm Boucher has indeed put his house on the market five times over the past decade without success
Boucher has marketed the property as high as $849,500 but tax assessors say the 7,500 sq ft, two-story home is actually worth $740,000
‘Rand mowed his own yard. It was always presentable. That’s a very lame excuse if that’s the one they are choosing to use,’ neighbor Dan Renshaw, 70, said
Boycher’s lawyer Matt Baker insists there is no political element to the attack and has described the incident as a ‘property dispute’

The ‘socialist’ doctor charged with cracking Senator Rand Paul’s ribs in a crunching blindside tackle may have harbored a secret grudge against his GOP neighbor for spoiling his lakeside views and ‘devaluing’ his home, DailyMail.com can reveal.
Rene Boucher, 59, told Paul in the wake of the mauling that he hadn’t been able to sell his $740,000 house for ten years because the congressman’s trees were ‘in the way’.
It’s believed Boucher was referring to woodland at the back of Paul’s property that blocks the doctor’s views of the picturesque private lake that forms the centerpiece of their upscale gated community.
Friends say it could explain why the retired anesthesiologist has failed to find a buyer for his five-bedroom, 1.36-acre home which is nonetheless described on property websites as ‘overlooking’ the desirable water feature.

Or it cold be his attempt to reduce the Republican advantage in Congress – a lot more likely explanation, given the number of years the other thing has been an issue and he didn’t attack then.

FBI informant known as ‘Captain America’ helped target corruption – then it all unraveled

The tow truck driver was living in the country illegally and had a criminal history that included convictions for burglary, credit card fraud and other crimes, court and FBI records show.

He had been previously deported back to Mexico and then returned to California to live under a fake name, Damian Castillo.

With his new identity, he had begun driving for tow companies in the constellation of small industrial cities that ring Los Angeles to the south. He got married and had three children.

But his wife urged him to work with the FBI, which was investigating allegations of corruption in the county’s tow truck industry. Agents, she said, might be able to help him earn legal status in the country in exchange for his cooperation.

He agreed to become an FBI informant, but kept his real identity and past hidden.

A few months later, he came clean with his handler, Special Agent Jason Dalton, telling him his real name, his past crimes and his illegal status in the country.

Dalton alerted higher-ups in the bureau and the U.S. attorney’s office of the deception and asked if Mendoza’s credibility was too badly compromised to continue as an informant. He was told to keep using him.

For more than two years, Mendoza told Dalton stories of massive corruption. Tow companies, he said, were paying off local politicians and sheriff’s officials with five- and six-figure bribes.

But when sheriff’s investigators caught wind of the FBI’s inquiry, Dalton handed over the evidence he and Mendoza had collected.

rosecutors called “Damian Castillo” to the stand last year to testify about the wrongdoing he had witnessed.

But the focus of the preliminary hearing soon turned to the informant’s own murky past.

Richard Hirsch, a veteran defense attorney, asked if he had come to the United States illegally and been deported after getting convicted of a drug offense. Begrudgingly, the informant admitted it was true.

Hirsch accused him of helping the FBI in hopes agents would help him become a legal resident in the U.S. Growing flustered, the informant denied the claim.

The attorney had one more card to play.

“What is your true name?” he asked.

“Albino Manuel Mendoza,” the informant replied.

The revelation came as news to Sgt. Amy Hanson, one of the lead sheriff’s investigators on the case. Hanson later testified she had no idea until that moment that her key witness had a significant criminal record and was living in the country illegally under a fake name.

Dalton, she said, had introduced the informant as Damian Castillo and she had no reason to doubt the agent. A transcript of the FBI recording from that initial meeting with Dalton confirms that the agent introduced the informant as Castillo.

For his part, Dalton testified he could not recall alerting sheriff’s investigators to the informant’s true name but believed he did so because it “would have been useful” to their case.

By then, Mendoza’s credibility was destroyed.

Mendoza wasn’t around to see the cases fall apart.

While he worked as an informant for Dalton, immigration officials had agreed not to go after him. But a few weeks after his real identity was revealed in court, Mendoza was driving alone when immigration agents pulled him over.

He was sent to a detention facility a few hours outside of Los Angeles in the Mojave Desert, where he spent the next six months. While he was locked up, his wife gave birth to their fourth child.

An immigration judge released him on bail in December and will ultimately decide whether he should be deported.

Wearing a location tracker strapped to his ankle, Mendoza spends most of his days at home, broke and bitter. A $5,000 payment the FBI had given him for his services was spent long ago. Mendoza claims Dalton promised to help him obtain legal residence; Dalton denies making such a promise.

Looking back on it now, Mendoza said, “I should have just minded my own business.”

  • Serves them right – but there’s a twist, several twists, in fact:

    http://www.dailycamera.com/news/boulder/ci_31445539/preschool-boulder-church-sanctuary-immigrants

Preschool in Boulder church shuts down after congregation votes to become sanctuary for immigrants
“It put us out of business,” Active Boulder Kids owner says.

A preschool that leases space from the Unitarian Universalist Church of Boulder is shutting down at the end of the month after the church congregation voted to become a sanctuary for undocumented immigrants facing deportation.

“It put us out of business,” said Active Boulder Kids owner Kristen Argow Heaton.

About 90 percent of the congregation that attended a church meeting on the matter last month voted to move forward with plans to outfit a portion of the building to provide living quarters for an immigrant taking sanctuary.

Argow Heaton said that parents notified the church ahead of the vote that they had safety concerns, and those concerns were not addressed, prompting more than half of the 22 children who attend the preschool to be withdrawn.

“They were not concerned about the person going into sanctuary,” she said. “They were concerned about people against the idea of sanctuary doing something to the location. It was more outside concern.”

So that’s the first twist – the concern was that some conservatives might have an issue and cause trouble, you know, do something maybe like antifa has been doing…

    But wait – there’s MORE!

The sanctuary program falls under the Metro Denver Sanctuary Coalition, an umbrella organization of which UUCB is a part of, and anyone who takes sanctuary at the church would already be involved in the coalition and be thoroughly vetted beforehand.

Church officials stated previously that the church considers offering sanctuary to be a religious duty that springs from various religious texts but also from moments in American history, such as the Underground Railroad, when slaves who escaped their masters were funneled north, and the modern immigrant sanctuary movement, which has its roots in the 1980s.

Dignan said the church has started work to upgrade security at the building and prepare it for what will currently be one person at a time.

Typical SJWs, they’re making a TOKEN EFFORT – a sanctuary, but only for one person at a time. The rest seeking sanctuary are out of luck. Not sure where in their religious texts or their invoking of the underground railroad they got the idea that such actions should be limited to one person at a time.

And finally, like I said, the Church claimed the issue was that outsiders, conservatives, might cause trouble, but the facts suggest otherwise:

Simmons was on the fence on whether to keep his child enrolled at the school but said some parents had concerns about how people taking sanctuary at the church would be vetted.

“That wasn’t an issue for me,” he said. “My worry, and I felt like no one articulated this, the church is doing civil disobedience and there is nothing legal about it. If that’s a risk the church wants to take, that’s fine, but they are roping our kids into it. I feel like that was unacceptable.”

Church leaders, though, counter that their offering of sanctuary is a legal act.

In fact offering sanctuary is a violation of federal law. I have posted the applicable law previously. Here it is again:

  • China has the two fastest supercomputers – if you use an old, discredited test to determine which is fastest, that is.

    https://www.cnet.com/news/china-surpasses-us-in-supercomputer-usage-on-top-500-list/

The Top500 list, released twice a year in conjunction with the annual SC conference, is compiled by researchers at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, the University of Tennessee and cloud-computing company Prometeus. It ranks supercomputers by how fast they can perform mathematical calculations on an imperfect but still useful speed test called Linpack. Results are measured in floating-point operations per second, or FLOPS.

The top two machines both are in China. Sunway TaihuLight, at China’s National Supercomputing Center in Wuxi, was clocked at 93.01 petaflops, or 93 quadrillion calculations per second. The No. 2 machine, Tianhe-2 at the National Supercomputer Center in Guangzho, scored 33.86 petaflops. They’ve held the top two spots for two years.

The United States might reclaim the top spot on the Top500 list, though. An IBM-built machine called Summit at Oak Ridge National Laboratory is designed to reach about 200 petaflops, double the performance of Sunway TaihuLight.

The Top500 organizers also have begun ranking supercomputers by a newer speed test designed to better reflect the range of computing tasks the machines handle, the High-Performance Conjugate Gradient (HPCG) benchmark. By this measure, Fujitsu’s K Computer at the RIKEN Advanced Institute for Computational Science in Japan is the top performer.

  • Tiny houses are trendy among moonbats – unless they go up next door.

As he tows a 96-square-foot house around Des Moines, Joe Stevens is overwhelmed by the intense, sometimes tearful support he receives from churches, schools and service groups for his plan to use the trendy little structures to help homeless people.

But when Stevens actually tried to create a village of the homes in Iowa’s largest city, the response was far different.

“We got shot down,” said Stevens, who leads a group that proposed erecting 50 tiny homes on a 5-acre industrial site north of downtown Des Moines. “It was a sense of fear, uncertainty and doubt, a kneejerk situation.”

Tiny homes have been promoted as the solution to all kinds of housing needs — shelter for the homeless, an affordable option for expensive big cities and simplicity for people who want to declutter their lives. But the same popularity that inspired at least six national TV shows about the homes often fails to translate into acceptance when developers try to build them next door.

In at least a dozen cases across the nation, neighbors organized to stop tiny house projects, including in Charlotte, North Carolina; Nashville, Tennessee; San Jose, California; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Tallahassee, Florida; and Bend, Oregon. Sometimes the efforts moved ahead despite objections, but in many cases, the communities were blocked.

The president of the American Tiny House Association said opposition arises even among people who feel an affinity for the homes.

“People say, ‘Tiny home are great and cool, and you can put that village anywhere but right across the street from my subdivision,'” said Chris Galusha, who is also a Fort Worth, Texas, area builder.

  • Do Trump’s liberal critics seem increasingly unhinged?

You’re going to wonder about my answer, which is no, because they were completely, 100% unhinged already and can’t get any worse.

But that’s not what the article states.

    http://thehill.com/opinion/white-house/360368-do-trumps-liberal-critics-seem-increasingly-unhinged

Desperate assertions that $3000 in Russian-linked Facebook ads swung the election results in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin are indicative of the pathetic logic of many Trump critics.

Many Trump opponents are the same type of zealots who, in the late 1700s, proudly labeled themselves “Friends of Government.” In their eyes, Trump’s greatest sin is tarnishing the majesty of the presidency and the federal government. Trump is exposing the sham of a Leviathan Democracy which pretends that presidents will be philosopher kings — instead of merely talented vote catchers. However, Trump cannot be blamed for destroying Americans’ trust in Washington. This was already achieved by presidents such as Obama who the media occasionally exalted to the skies.

Hysteria remains the 2017 political badge of honor. Last Wednesday, thousands of people gathered across the nation to shout at the sky to protest the anniversary of Trump’s victory. But righteous rage is no substitute for focusing on the real perils that Trump and any other president poses to our rights. The Friends of Freedom need to keep their intellectual ammo dry.

Black death plague ravaging Madagascar will ‘get WORSE’ as antibiotics AREN’T working
THE dreaded Black Death plague blighting Madagascar will “get worse before it gets better” if antibiotics aren’t handed out quickly, a scientist has told Daily Star Online.

And every day they recycle the same numbers of dead and infected… yeah, starting to smell a rat, though since this is pneumonic plague it doesn’t involve fleas from said rat, apparently.

The logic in the article is backwards. Supposedly INSUFFICIENT exposure to antibiotics, essentially failure to take them on the proper schedule or for the proper length of time, is what helps antibiotic resistant strains to develop… but this article suggests:

“Because this disease is extremely rare, it doesn’t get exposed to antibiotics that often,” he said.

Antibiotic resistance, as I understand it, comes about when you do not maintain a high enough level of antibiotic to kill off the target organism and you just kill the weaker ones, the ones more susceptible to the antibiotic, leaving those with some resistance, which then multiply and form a more resistant strain. Do this multiple times – it’s kind of like enriching Uranium hexafluoride by using multiple passes through high speed centrifuges. Each time you get a stronger or more pure strain of resistant organism.

A map of the US reveals all of the reported sightings of UFOs from 1995-2014. It shows a sharp spike in recent years of reported contact with alien life.

Remember, there are many “unidentified flying objects” and they tend to be revealed as having nothing to do with aliens.

The numbers as crunched by Kaggle, also show that the majority of sightings take place on a Saturday, and the most common time of day is 9-11pm.

It also shows that July-January is UFO spotting season in the United States.

Looking at the map, I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest that if you compare this map with a map of Demcoratic strongholds you’re going to have a very tight correspondence.

My own cousin reported a UFO… which turned out to be Seal Team Six practicing for the Abottobad raid down in Imperial Beach. She saw them flying their stealth helicopter, possibly the one that ended up crashing.

She asked me about it – I figured it might be a grey or black program and made excuses about why she couldn’t hear it’s engine noise. Then it’s existence was revealed some months later due to the crash.

A liberal outside group is making a new push to defend special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into allegations of collusion between Donald Trump’s campaign and Russia, an effort officials with the organization say is meant to directly rebut recent criticism of the former FBI director from Republican lawmakers and conservative media.

The group, Bridge Project, says it will mobilize grassroots support, factcheck GOP criticisms, and pay for social media ads to defend Mueller and his probe, which last month led to money-laundering charges against led to charges against former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort and his business partner Rick Gates. Former Trump foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos also pled guilty to lying to federal investigators as part of the probe.

“This campaign has basically been a response to what we’ve seen in the last couple of weeks from Trump allies, where a number of people are making pre-emptive moves to discredit the Mueller investigation,” said David Brock, chairman of American Bridge.

Brock, a former Republican operative who famously switched sides in the late 1990s to become an ally of Bill and Hillary Clinton, is the founder of Media Matters, a liberal media propaganda and talking points factory, and the outside group American Bridge.

Nobody has been trying to discredit the Mueller investigation. Nobody has to. It’s doing a fine job of discrediting itself.

It’s sole purpose for existing is to look for collusion between Trump’s organization and Russia. It has not found a single shred of such collusion. Because there was none. Meanwhile it’s churning out things having nothing to do with Trump or the election, going after people for things they did completely seperate from the Trump election push, in most or all cases things that happened before Trump even announced he was running.

Brock isn’t fooling anyone but himself and other moonbats with this:

To Brock, Republicans are going after Mueller because they are worried the investigation will eventually lead to bipartisan talk of impeachment.

“They’re very worried that this could end up there,” Brock said. “This could end up with some kind of impeachment proceedings. And that’s why they’re trying to gin this up now, as I said, trying to get ahead of it.”

Impeachment has gained traction with some Democrats, including party mega-donor Tom Steyer, but remains a fringe issue to most party officials. Many leading Democratic officials consider it a divisive issue that their candidates should ignore in favor of pocketbook issues, such as health care or taxes.

Contra Brock, many of these same Democrats also think dwelling on the Russia investigation is a political loser.

I would love to see them keep pushing the Russian angle and even would hope they try to make it the primary campaign issue in 2018 and 2020.

Venezuela is broke, which takes some doing. For much of the second half of the 20th century, a gusher of oil exports made dollars abundant in Venezuela and the country imported the finest of everything. By 2001 Venezuela was the richest country in South America.

Then in 2005 the socialist Hugo Chávez declared that the central bank had “excessive reserves.” He mandated that the executive take the excess from the bank without compensation. Today the central bank has at best $1 billion in reserves.

The main problem is that chavismo has strangled entrepreneurship. Faced with expropriation, hyperinflation, price controls and rampant corruption, human and monetary capital has fled Venezuela.

S&P Global Ratings declared the country in default Monday. On Tuesday morning the Luxembourg Stock Exchange issued a suspension notice for the bonds with missed payments.

President Nicolás Maduro has formed a commission to restructure up to $150 billion of the debt and put Vice President Tareck El Aissami —who is under U.S. sanctions for drug trafficking—in charge. Mr. El Aissami called a meeting of creditors on Monday in Caracas, which most bondholders did not attend. Press reports said Mr. El Aissami delivered a monologue on Venezuela’s intention to pay and took no questions. He argued that Trump Administration sanctions make it difficult for the dictatorship to arrange refinancing.

The real problem is that restructuring assumes the country can grow again. That’s nearly impossible without a change in policy that will free the economy.

If Caracas doesn’t find a way to settle with bondholders, they will soon ask authorities to seize Venezuelan assets such as oil shipments at sea and Citgo facilities in the U.S. Such are the wages socialism.

  • Al Franken demands censorship… OF THE TRUTH!

On October 31, legal counsel for Google, Facebook and Twitter provided irrefutable statistical evidence that showed minimal Russian interference in the 2016 election. Obama’s administration had several major hitters come forward and admit that while there may be evidence of Russian hacking attempts (or it may have been someone hacking who did their best to appear as if they were Russian – and apparently they succeeded), nothing Russia did affected the outcome of the election.

    Franken continues to claim otherwise.

    https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/nov/08/big-tech-security-freedoms-democracy-al-franken

He insists Hillary’s loss demanded government censorship over social media on the Internet. He wrote the following:
Last week’s hearings demonstrated that these companies may not be up to the challenge that they’ve created for themselves. In some instances, it seems that they’ve failed to take commonsense precautions to prevent the spread of propaganda, misinformation, and hate speech.
In advancing his argument for government censorship, Franken asked the following rhetorical questions:
The platforms that big tech has designed may now be so large and unruly that we can’t trust the companies to get it right when they do start paying attention. If you have five million advertisers a month using your highly sophisticated, nearly instantaneous ad platform, can you ever really know who all of them are? Can you ever catch all the signals that would seem obvious to a pair of human eyes – for example, political ads that are paid for in rubles?

Clearly what Franken REALLY wants is the power to limit any speech he deems improper in any way, particularly when it contradicts his false claims.

Franken got immediate push-back from Michael Snyder, a Republican candidate for Congress in Idaho’s First Congressional District, who argued that government censorship constituted a serious risk to First Amendment free speech rights. He wrote:
When you start regulating speech, you cross a very dangerous line. There is a reason why our founders guaranteed us freedom of speech in the Bill of Rights, because if we don’t have the freedom to say what we want then what do we really have left?
He argued the “government truth police” would lead us down the road to totalitarianism, a conclusion he judged is precisely what Franken wants. Snyder continued:
During the presidential election, there was a lot of talk about Hillary Clinton’s health. The mainstream media insisted that she was just fine, and they accused those of us in the alternative media that were questioning her health of engaging in “propaganda” and “misinformation”. Well, it turns out that we now know that Clinton’s health was so bad that Donna Brazile was actually considering replacing the nominee, and so it was actually the mainstream media that was putting out “propaganda” and “misinformation.”
Snyder argued that elite leftists like Franken are actually scared of the free exchange of ideas because that gives people far too much control over their own destiny.
“Will everything that we do on the Internet have to be evaluated for ‘truthiness’ before it is allowed to be posted?” Snyder asked. “And who decides what the ‘truth’ actually is?”

  • MORON GLOW BULL WARMING (i.e. if you believe in the BS about humans causing it, you’re a moron)

    http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2017/11/climate-change-alarmism-is-founded-on-dishonesty.php

As recently as 1990, it was widely accepted that the global temperature trend, as reported by NASA (Hansen and Lebedeff, 1987), showed a “0.5°C rise between 1880 and 1950.”

    https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/1b0b27b8c3c2e558357d374970498cbf4668c9cb5fb1266c2cb13b1d13f666c5.jpg

This 0.5°C rise in global temperatures between 1880-1950 (and 0.6°C between 1880 and 1940) can clearly be seen in the NASA GISS graph from 1987.

    https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/ca32615efc0dfba9ee95c2ed1ef842e20f4f109be73660ad049f4136febd1a09.jpg

Today, it is no longer acceptable for the NASA global temperature data set to graphically depict a strong warming trend during the first half of the 20th century. This is because anthropogenic CO2 emissions were flat and negligible relative to today during this abrupt warming period.

So as to eliminate the inconvenience of a non-anthropogenic warming trend in modern times, NASA has now removed all or nearly all the 0.5°C of warming between 1880 and 1950.

  • ABOUT THAT “CLIMATE CONSENSUS”
The most tiresome cliché of the climatistas is that “97 percent of scientists ‘believe’ in human caused climate change,” though I am always grateful for how they used the term “believe,” since the whole matter has taken on the attributes of religious commitment, if not fanaticism in many cases.

A group of six social scientists (some of them prominent in climate circles, such as Mike Hulme), mostly in Britain, have decided to slap down Cook a despite the fact they apparently also have fallen for AGW fraud and also support the false notion of a “consensus”, which, even if it were true, is a political argument, not a scientific one – and as if that were not enough, it is also the logical fallacy “appeal to authority”.

  • Lifting the Steele Curtain
The Fusion GPS dossier was one of the dirtiest political tricks in U.S. history. (At least until this current hit job on Roy Moore.)

And should be investigated because it was clear collusion between the Hillary Clinton Campaign/DNC and Russia.

    https://www.wsj.com/articles/lifting-the-steele-curtain-1510274070

“Details from the dossier were not reported before Election Day,” ran a recent CNN story. Hillary Clinton herself stressed the point in a recent “Daily Show” appearance. The dossier, she said, is “part of what happens in a campaign where you get information that may or may not be useful and you try to make sure anything you put out in the public arena is accurate. So this thing didn’t come out until after the election, and it’s still being evaluated.”

This is utterly untrue. In British court documents Mr. Steele has acknowledged he briefed U.S. reporters about the dossier in September 2016. Those briefed included journalists from the New York Times, the Washington Post, Yahoo News and others. Mr. Steele, by his own admission (in an interview with Mother Jones), also gave his dossier in July 2016 to the FBI.

Among the dossier’s contents were allegations that in early July 2016 Carter Page, sometimes described as a foreign-policy adviser to Candidate Trump, held a “secret” meeting with two high-ranking Russians connected to President Vladimir Putin. It even claimed these Russians offered to give Mr. Page a 19% share in Russia’s state oil company in return for a future President Trump lifting U.S. sanctions. This dossier allegation is ludicrous on its face. Mr. Page was at most a minor figure in the campaign and has testified under oath that he never met the two men in question or had such a conversation.

Yet the press ran with it. On Sept. 23, 2016, Yahoo News’s Michael Isikoff published a bombshell story under the headline: “U.S. intel officials probe ties between Trump adviser and Kremlin.” Mr. Isikoff said “U.S. officials” had “received intelligence” about Mr. Page and Russians, and then went on to recite verbatim all the unfounded dossier allegations. He attributed all this to a “well-placed Western intelligence source,” making it sound as if this info had come from someone in government rather than from an ex-spy-for-hire.

The Clinton campaign jumped all over it, spinning its own oppo research as a government investigation into Mr. Trump. Jennifer Palmieri, the campaign’s communications director, the next day took to television to tout the Isikoff story and cite “U.S. intelligence officials” in the same breath as Mr. Page. Other Clinton surrogates fanned out on TV and Twitter to spread the allegations.

The Isikoff piece publicly launched the Trump-Russia collusion narrative…

Only dumbass liberals can come up with this idiotic headline. The laughable reason they give that it’s “bad news”: “Though the idea of larger trees may suggest a positive effect, the more quickly trees age, the sooner they die.” Ridiculous!

Newsweek; Climate Change is Turbocharging Growth of City Trees, and That’s Really Bad News

The last paragraph sounds completely contrary to the headline:

Trees have benefits ranging from increased urban biodiversity to soaking of carbon dioxide and mitigating climate change, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the U.N. Planting trees strategically in cities could cool the air between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius to reduce the urban heat island affect, which is expected to exacerbate health issues caused as a result of deadly future heat waves in urban areas. Urban trees can also be filters for pollutants, help prevent floods and are often associated with better physical and mental health.
