This from an obvious and likely paid shill for the party who’s stock in trade is hatred, fear-mongering, the party that insists you don’t read a bill before you pass it, and heaven forbid you actually determine what it’s going to cause to happen once it’s law!

joe, I’ve often pointed out that lao is a one-dimensional thinker and I personally never thought anyone would possibly chime in below him.

You’ve proved me wrong. I wondered if there was a such thing as zero dimensional thought, or maybe even negative dimension thought – now I know.

    Congratulations!

Here’s a clue for you, joe. This whole contrived nonsense is a pathetic attempt to make women fear that the mean old nasty Republicans want to deny them birth control and keep them blonde, barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen chained to the oven, stove and dishwasher.

It’s an attempt to shift attention away from Obama’s DISMAL RECORD by keeping everyone focusing on those nasty Republicans and their evil plans to – what? Prevent us from having to pay dearly for your inability to control yourself? Nobody is saying “ban birth control” – except shills for the Democrats, who keep trying, and failing, to get the Republican candidates from admitting that’s what Republicans really want!

    ——————-

Again you have it backwards. Climate Works, a left wing organization that uses scare tactics (and a running total of at least $600 million and counting of left wing donations) to deliberately dumb down America with respect to the actual science of weather, climate and the reality that both are constantly changing and are driven by natural forces orders of magnitude greater than anything humans are currently capable of doing (yeah, I’m a science fiction nut and do believe that we may indeed one day learn to terraform, but we’re not there yet or we’d be doing it right now on Mars, Venus and some moons of the gas giants) yet even with all that money they were only able to temporarily dumb down people LIKE YOU AND lao, who are gullible and unable or unwilling to think for yourselves. Now a right-wing (supposedly) group, the Heartland Institute, with only 4.4 million (about 1/15 of the money spent by those who use emotional arguments, personal attacks and who avoid real science like it’s the plague) have managed to not only repair the damage but in fact they may have actually RAISED the collective IQ somewhat. Of course, Gleick helped out with his pathetic attempt at forgery…

  • Bob Roberts

Uh oh! Climate change causes earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, lions, tigers and bears and also causes Right Wing Talk Show Hosts to use bad language!

    QUOTE:

The idea that a changing climate can persuade the ground to shake, volcanoes to rumble and tsunamis to crash on to unsuspecting coastlines seems, at first, to be bordering on the insane.
    ———————–
If only they’d ended on that note they would have been fine.

NOTE, of course that they’re using this ridiculous theory to suggest, in a roundabout way, that global changes that happened back when the first humans were learning to stand erect are proof that humans are having changes that are global in nature.

Sorry, no. The changes they are talking about did in fact happen quite rapidly, which blows a hole in several of their claims that the only way things of that nature can happen rapidly is if humans cause them, and were (as I pointed out in a previous post) orders of magnitude above anything humans can do. Yes, it’s possible that these sudden and huge NATURAL, NORMAL changes did have larger effects, but to suggest that we humans are causing similar affects now is what’s insane. There is no anthropogenically driven uptick in earthquakes, volcanic eruptions or tsunamis. I read, at one point, that there did seem to be a slight uptick in frequency of major earthquakes but these things are statistical and always even out in the long run.

    Always.

Besides, the uptick happened coincidentally with that major alignment of the planets, didn’t it – which I hasten to add scientists pretty much unanimously said wasn’t the cause of it, but my point is that the forces involved, insignificant as they were (according to scientists) with relation to earthquakes, were orders of magnitude greater than anything humans can cause.

OK I’m going to borrow rather liberally from this link/post. Notwithstanding the occasional negative remarks by MOONBATTERY regulars (and irregulars), I’m often told I should write for a living but my own view is that others say it better than I ever could – so [my few comments in square braces]:

    THE PARTY OF HATE
Millions of Americans voted for Barack Obama in the hope that he would be a trailblazer who would conduct the presidency in a new way. Well, he has: Obama has been the most divisive president in our modern history, unabashedly stirring up hate against not only his political enemies, but against private citizens who exercise their right to participate in our democracy. The most recent hatefest has been directed against Rush Limbaugh, and Obama has personally stirred the pot.

[He goes on to quite nicely sum up all the hatred directed against women, the extremely insulting things Democrats, among them major Obama supporters, have said with not a peep in response from "the usual suspects" on the left and no phone calls from Obama apologizing.]

Barack Obama has been a terrible president in many ways, but perhaps his most poisonous legacy is his cynical fomenting of partisan hate to advance his own political interests. After three years, we have learned that “hope” is not the word that we should associate with the Obama presidency.

    [NOTE TO MR. BLOUNT: There's a really great image that sums things up nicely here. If you can gain appropriate permission to use it, it might make a great leader for your next open thread!}

Apparently this site showed, earlier today, gas hitting $6/gal. in CA. You may have to page/scroll to find it or maybe the station, after getting the bad publicity, rolled their prices back, I don’t know.

TRUTH ABOUT OBAMA SUPPOSEDLY TO BE RELEASED ON FOX NEWS TONIGHT Apparently “selectively edited” versions are being released in advance to try to soften the blow. You know, “blow”, the stuff Obama used to snort all the time? (NOTE: I composed this hours ago – I note someone was already commenting about what came out on Fox a while back. I’ve been busy, haven’t seen it yet.)

Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., received a day-long ban from speaking on the House floor today, and the comments he had made were removed from the record, after he violated House rules with a personal attack. Should have banned him indefinitely.

FLASH: OBAMA says there are too many foreigners in U.S.A. and the system for integrating them is “working worse and worse”. Obama defended his plan to almost halve the number of new arrivals if re-elected. Just imagine it!

  • Bob Roberts

Some of you will note that I changed a few critical words in the last bit in my last post. I want you to think just what people would say if Obama, or for that matter ANY President, said something like that here. Of course the left, who says we should be more like Europe, would be all over this if a Republican said it. I haven’t heard a word from them about Sarkozy saying it, though. And I’m pretty darn sure when he talks about these people he’s against letting in, they’re for the most part “people of color”.

Then again, last time I saw a box of Crayola (or any other crayons), WHITE WAS A COLOR TOO. The left, Democrats, they seem to forget that!

  • Bob Roberts

The Moon? No, I’m sure that’s wrong – it JUST HAD to be anthropogenically driven climate change. I’m CERTAIN of it!

Turns out that breaking up ice sheets isn’t caused by humans, but rather by the moon – or so the theory suggests:

An unusually close approach by the moon in January 1912 may have produced such high tides that far more icebergs than usual managed to separate from Greenland, and floated, still fully grown, into shipping lanes that had been moved south that spring because of reports of icebergs.

Olson said a “once-in-many-lifetimes” event occurred on January 4, 1912, when the moon and sun lined up in such a way that their gravitational pulls enhanced each other. At the same time, the moon’s closest approach to earth that January was the closest in 1,400 years, and the point of closest approach occurred within six minutes of the full moon. On top of that, the Earth’s closest approach to the sun in a year had happened just the previous day.

“This configuration maximized the moon’s tide-raising forces on the Earth’s oceans,” Olson said. “That’s remarkable.”

    —————–

Forces orders of magnitude beyond anything humans are capable of doing. Understand it, don’t just accept it blindly. THINK FOR YOURSELF. If you’ve decided to let others do your thinking for you (lao, joe), you’re already lost.

You said, “I’m worried about this IQ problem and those who believe it’s better to propagandize people then educate them. Of course that depends on if you like Hitlers style or [sic] Gandhies.”

Yes indeed the left, the “progressives”, the “liberals”, the “DEMOCRATS do indeed go for NAZI style propaganda along with expecting everyone else to carry your water for you and catch you when you repeatedly fall because you can’t seem to learn from your mistakes – whereas the Right is big into thinking for yourself, accepting the consequences of your own decisions and actions and, like Gandhi, they’re dead set against the sort of TYRANNY imposed by those like Obama and the DEMOCRATS, who, UNLIKE Gandhi, use intimidation and DEATH THREATS when they don’t get their way.

Like Gandhi, Republicans have always been for Civil Rights – Democrats famously worked overtime in the Senate to keep Civil Rights legislation from passing while only 1 Republican joined in their efforts.

Wind farms in Pacific Northwest paid to not produce I might add that were the left, the Democrats, not so hard set against the necessary infrastructure needed, we could perhaps have moved some of that power to other regions where it could have been utilized instead of wasted. They did their best to block the Sunrise Power Link which, when completed, will open up the geothermal fields in SE CA to be more fully exploited. And the good thing about geothermal is it’s a lot more dependable than wind or solar PLUS it doesn’t kill birds or bother lizards or whatever else the greeniacs say solar farms hurt.

  • Bob Roberts

And since Joe brought up propaganda and “dumbing down”…

    Obama’s contraception deception

There is a simple reason why a $10 pack of condoms isn’t covered 100% by insurance. Suppose the $10 was completely reimbursed, the cost of insurance would go up by more than $10. The $10 increase is obvious since if the insurance has to pay out $10, they have to charge $10 more for insurance. More paperwork means even higher costs. Someone has to check the forms to make sure that there is no fraud and give the reimbursement approval. It doesn’t make any sense for insurance to cover low-cost items.

But it isn’t a question of whether contraception — such as condoms — are available, though this is what the Obama administration wants everyone to think. Supposedly no free condoms means women will go without contraception.

Offering free contraceptives is an obvious ploy for female voter, but for it to work, women have to believe that they can get something for nothing. This has been Obama’s strategy for ObamaCare all along. — He’s always promised lower insurance costs while mandating all sorts of new coverage.

NOW JOE, HERE’S YOUR CHANCE TO COME BACK TO REALITY AND SHOW YOU’VE REVERSED THAT STEEP DECLINE IN YOUR IQ THAT IS DEMONSTRATED BY YOUR POSTS HERE:

Yet, even if Americans don’t understand economics, they need only look at Obama’s broken promises to lower insurance costs. During the first year after ObamaCare was passed, the average annual cost for employer-sponsored health care plans went up by 9 percent.

OK joe, here’s a pop quiz for you:

Venus is often referred to as the “sister” or “twin” of Earth due to the fact that it’s size, gravity and essential composition is very close to that of Earth.

Like Earth, Venus is a “terrestrial” (rocky) planet with a diameter that is about 404 miles less than that of Earth, insignificant when you consider it’s diameter is 7,513.6, making the difference between the two something around 5% of the total.

The mass of Venus is about 81.5% that of Earth.

However, the atmosphere of Venus is such that, were you to stand on the surface of Venus (and survive), you would be subjected to an atmospheric pressure about 92 times that you feel at sea level on Earth.

Do your best to explain, in terms even a liberal/progressive/Democrat like lao can understand, why this is the case, if you can.

Since I now have more spare time than I know what to do with sometimes, I actually do go out occasionally to help educate the homeless, most of them coincidentally liberal/progressive Democrats, on locally available resources. At the end of February I found two of these guys, who it turns out are also gay (in fact a large percentage of the local homeless are apparently gay – not that this is a fact that affects what I’m saying here, mind you, I just find it’s an interesting coincidence at this point, particularly because the relationship holds in several other states, on or near both coasts and also on or near the gulf coast, that I’ve visited), who claimed they were “starving” because they had used their “food card” (CA state government taxpayer supported free food) to barter for drugs and beer and their cards weren’t due to reset until a week or more later.

I found a place nearby that would give them some food three days a week, between about 9 and 11, if they would only go down there, sign up, and show up.

They were both too lazy to go.

But not too lazy to go twice as far when someone offered them some booze and drugs if they showed up!

Now tell me again about the effects of Guns, God and whatever other nonsense you were talking about, joe!

Because I’ve generally found, with a few exceptions, mind you, that the more intelligent a person is (I’m not talking about “educated” – I’m talking about TRUE INTELLIGENCE – these days, unfortunately, there’s a growing difference as you and lao no doubt demonstrate) the more religious they tend to be, or maybe it’s vice-versa, the point being there’s a clear correlation.

Anyway, the point Island Lifer makes is valid and ties in nicely with this experience I just had at the end of February/beginning of March with these two homeless guys. They’re both really nice, if you ignore the fact that the “man” of the couple apparently gets pretty angry and has knocked most of the teeth out of the mouth of the “woman” over time.

Dude, want to hear something funny? I was already in the final phases of planning a trip to the Oxnard area when that story came to my attention.

She’s right up the road! 3 hours door to door if I go direct by car (even faster if I drive the ‘vette), but I was going to stop by Malibu and see some friends and generally meander up the coast along some roads less traveled.

Anyway, Haydock (her school) prides itself as striving to be “bully free” so why is it they’re discriminating on the basis of choice of lifestyle/off duty employment?

Isn’t that a form of bullying?

  • IslandLifer

Bob that doesn’t surprise me one bit. One of my friends school requirements was an hour long documentary. He went and interviewed several homeless who said they would rather be homeless than work some minimum wage job. They (being around the ages 40-50) said they refuse to work for anything less than 50k/year. Just a lame way of saying “I’m not working because the entitlements I get supply my drinking/drug habits” I love it when I get asked if I have a dollar to spare by these leeches. I tell them I have several and walk away. The blank look is priceless.

  • Bob Roberts

Another reason I prefer Conservatives/Libertarians over “liberals”/”progressives” (besides the fact the latter are neither, though they do love their trendy labels!).

I often contact people on all parts of the political spectrum and I’ve found that the more “liberal”/”progressive” one tends to be, the less likely they are to respond.

Put simply, the further towards libertarian or conservative, the “nicer”, the “friendlier”, the less stuck up and snobbish, I’ve found people to be. The more likely to take a moment and respond to a query, for instance, even if it’s out of the blue from a complete stranger.

The homeless around here refuse to go to shelters, readily available, because it means NO DRUGS, NO ALCOHOL and you CANNOT SHOW UP DRUNK OR HIGH.

Even when it’s freezing, raining, and there’s literally nowhere safe to stay they refuse.

They do indeed prefer to be homeless, as counterintuitive as that may seem to be.

And, as you say, they’re unwilling to work even if it means they’re living on the brink of dying.

When they ask me for money I say, “Are you hungry”? Most of them say no, they just want some money and, when I press them, they admit it’s for (in order of responses given most to least) booze, drugs or cigarettes.

Those who do say they’re hungry, I follow up with, “What sort of food do you like to eat” because there’s always a place nearby where any reasonable preference can be satisfied – even if it’s vegan!

Some of them then admit they were really hoping I’d just give them money, though one woman who thought she was smart was busy lining up to resell what I had bought her as I emerged with it so she went without.

And yes, now we taxpayers are subsidizing their habits AND giving them the free time to dream up & commit crimes against us. Nice how that works out for us, eh?

We get it coming & going!

So one recent summer I’m down at the beach and I notice the police have taped off an area – turns out one of the local homeless, in a section someone I know calls “the bummery”, passed away sometime the day before. He was asleep in the sand and he just expired. People went about their business, keeping their distance, because waking one of these folks had unpredictable and sometimes dangerous consequences. Locals are so jaded about seeing them sleeping in public where they should not be that nobody thought to bother him or even look closely at him.

It literally took a tourist to notice he hadn’t moved, not even a tiny bit, for hours. And the only time you don’t move, not at all, is when you’re dead.

Another story from just down the way – less than 1/2 mile or so from that spot.

I’m zipping along on my roller blades and this morbidly obese woman says something to me as I go by so I turn (I’m a polite guy, don’t go around ignoring people even if I really have little or no interest in them personally) and go back. She repeats: “Sir, I haven’t eaten in two days and my daughter hasn’t eaten in three. Would you maybe have some money to spare, like $20, so I can afford to take a bus back home and get to the grocery store so I can feed her tonight?” I really didn’t have any spending money on me at the time (only plastic, no coin or cloth as I travel light when I skate, pretty much my one key and my banana hammock) so I told her I’d come back and check on her in an hour or so. When I came back she was gone.

The next day I see the same woman in the same spot as I’m skating along, so this time I slow and stop.

“Sir, I haven’t eaten in two days and my daughter hasn’t eaten in three. Would you maybe have some money to spare, like $20, so I can afford to take a bus back home and get to the grocery store so I can feed her tonight?”

Same exact story, only she forgot to turn 2 and 3 to 3 and 4.

But, realizing she has forgotten we just spoke briefly the day before, I play along:

“Listen, I don’t have any money on me but I do have a credit card and a car nearby. Why don’t you come with me and I’ll drive you to the grocery store, get you two bags of good food for you and your daughter, then drive you home!”

    Of course, she refused.

Then I let on that I knew she was scamming me – for she gave me the exact same lies the day before and I’m telling you, it was clear she hadn’t missed a meal in a long, long time.

The Washington Times persists in reporting that the Obama administration has “agreed to exempt religion-affiliated universities, charities and hospitals” from its contraceptive coverage mandate (“Limbaugh apology garners bipartisan approval,” Web, Sunday). However, this is not the case.

On Feb. 10, the administration’s controversial mandate and its incredibly narrow religious exemption were finalized “without change.” The published rule says four times that it is finalizing this policy “without change.” The administration says it may issue an additional rule by August regarding the manner in which this mandate will be imposed on the many religious organizations that remain “nonexempt.”

The central feature of this proposal is that since it is against these organizations’ consciences to cover such items, insurers (acting on orders from the government) will insert the items into the coverage instead.

This is not an exemption, and even the administration has not claimed that it is. All these organizations’ employees will be covered by the mandate. Any new policy that did expand the religious exemption would be illegal under the rule that has been finalized, which the administration says it will not change.

The Story Behind the Obama Law School Speech Video

In light of today’s controversy, and Breitbart.com editors’ claims that the footage had been edited, we pulled the full archived tape. It includes not just Obama’s speech, but other footage from the rally and portions of Derrick Bell’s speech. You can watch it in full (at the link).

While BuzzFeed did not publish all of the available footage of the event — a manager here noted that they were paying for each second of footage — they did post the entirety of what was available of Obama’s speech. While other cameras could have shot additional material from the event, no other footage of the event exists at WGBH.

And while there does appear to be editing in the footage available, that was almost certainly done in 1990. The Ten O’Clock News practice was to store completed segments as aired along with any relevant additional footage that might be useful in the future.

J am I REALLY supposed to click that weasel zippers link because it’s supposed to be credible and it actually says something significant about Obama?

Actually, as tired as it is, “It’s all Bush’s fault” would have been a better lie, lao.

Here’s the best comment on this supposed blockbuster news.

As alarming as it may seem, Breitbart really was the brains behind that operation. I guess we can expect a couple months of the Big website crews outdumbing each other, each trying to prove they are the alpha moron fit to take over where excitable Andy left off.

  • lao

Too funny bobby. Brietbart’s Big Government posthumous tape expose of Obama’s college days is getting laughed at, even in the comments from right wingers on websites like Gateway Pundit.

If you have a substantive link or something important to add to this non-story, as opposed to your usual whining, you are invited to produce it.

Talking to those who adopt trendy labels “liberal” and “progressive” when they’re nothing of the sort – people like lao – is sort of like falling into a deep well.

At the bottom words are shallow.

On the surface, talk is cheap.

You can always tell the distance by the company you keep.

    ————-
You know, a lot of us thought that, at first, but apparently lao really, really tries as hard as he can and yes, he’s just that stupid.

He doesn’t realize that one can learn a lot about those one chooses to associate with – those about whom one says,

‘The HBO film “Cosmic Slop” featuring an adaptation of “Space Traders,” a short story written by Prof. Derrick Bell, whom Barack Obama said we should “open [our] hearts, open [our] minds to the words of Derrick Bell.”’

Yes, the Weasel Zippers link ABSOLUTELY DOES give us important insights concerning Obama and his thought processes. That he would actually recommend we “… open [our] heats, open [our] minds to the words of Derrick Bell.” speaks volumes!

In short, this gives us more insight as to exactly when Obama willingly chose to board the express train to crazy town.

Notice the classic lib-tard tactic of trying desperately (and failing) to shift the discussion from the FACTS and instead making pathetic attempts to make the story all about those who report it instead of those who are important.

This isn’t about Breitbart, it’s about Obama and his circle of associates. Wow, you’re minders must have really hit the roof over this one – I’ve never seen you post so quickly, and so foolishly, before lao. I mean, close as to foolishness, but this even takes the cake for you!

  • TED
  • lao

    Bobby, you are babbling again.

The one trying to avoid FACTS is you.

I took issue with J’s Breitbart Big Government links and provided some alternate information including from PBS who aired that supposedly suppressed video in 2008.

I’m moving up to the thread devoted to this topic and taking further commentary there.

Next time, offer something of substance on the topic if you can.

  • Bob Roberts

FACT CHECKING our local pest lao:

He claims people are laughing at the video over at GATEWAY PUNDIT – I wonder what nonsense he posts there and what name he uses – I’m betting it’s likely “Big Wayne”. That’s the only person really “laughing” at the video I’ve seen yet and he’s using the same exact words and phrases lao typically uses here.

Of course he fails to give a link.

So here it is, along with some of the alleged “laughing”:

You know what really irks me? Libs watch this and have absolutely no idea how it could possibly be controversial. Unreal.
    ————-
On the other hand, Rick Perry is obviously a racist because of a rock they found in Texas.
    ————-
If this is not controversial, it’s because we have lost and must emphatically regain the narrative that leftist radicalism is anathema to our very way of life. The reality confronts us daily, but large segments of the population take in this radicalism and these people don’t begin to connect the dots about just how poisonous it is to all of us.
    ————-
I wonder what would happen if Romney or Santorum was caught on video speaking up for a White supremacist – how do you think the media would react?
    ————-
Sean asked a good Q about how will this get through to the public when the Jer. Wright stuff didn’t knock sense into the people. Most people are wondering, who the hell is this prof? How can it be so bad for O to speak on his behalf? Look at all the students, white, black, etc., at the gathering. Then they’re all radical? Some might say it’s the typical lefty stuff at uni’s…but we know O never moved beyond that ideology.
    ————-
We need the words on tape to come out of O’s own mouth. It is true as another commenter said, the Dems/left are not impressed. That O spoke at a stage production memorializing Alinksy is a so-what. This is going to be too. I hope the tapes do get progressively more damning so that the weight of them over time this year sinks in to the voters and paints a clear picture of this anti-American radical.
    ————-
Here is video of Bell saying racism will always exist and that white people have a sense of entitlement.

    http://bluecollarphilosophy.com/2012/03/obamas-derrick-bell-believes-white-people-have-a-sense-of-entitlement-video/

Obama got his academic version of Jeremiah Wright in Bell.
    ————-
Author James Traub voiced this opinion in his 1993 piece on the professor:

“That’s Derek Bell’s bottom line: if it comforts whites, it’s bad; if it comforts blacks–i.e., Farrakhan–it’s good. Bell, along with Farrakhan and so many others, offers victimization as a consolation.”

bobby, the issue is NOT comments on Gateway Pundit, but I can play your silly game.

    The Great Satan™ commented:
It was a Big Fail, kinda like the new look of Breitbart.com which sucks.

    Occidental Tourist commented:
Oh, my God, I just bothered to listen to the rest of the stuff that Hannity and his boys said about Bell and Obama, and I cannot believe that this is ALL you guys got on Barry O.

He stood up for a guy who was an ultra-liberal, race-conscious professor. Every Republican president has some ultra right-wing marginal thinker in his past.

As far as why Ogletree protected Obama, I think he knew that guys like Hannity would waste our time with something phony and unsubstantial like this.

    TiminPhx commented:
This is nothing. If there isn’t any more, the poster who called it Al Capone’s vault is correct.

    Jaimo commented:
There better be something more than just this video. I find it hard to believe that the selective editing consisted of only cutting out the idiot’s hug of a racist professor. Seriously, is the best we can do. I’d be doing a Watergate break-in at the LA Times looking for the Rashidi tapes. There has to be someone out there crazy enough to do the time for that break-in. Now that would be a story.

I had all my co-workers tuning in to see Hannity and this awesome video, and it was a big nothing. Nothing at all. Breitbart’s remaining people need to step it up just a bit.

    ——————–

EXACTLY MY POINT! YOU MADE THE COMMENTS THE TOPIC, I PROVED YOU WRONG, NOW YOU’RE TRYING TO SAY I MADE THAT THE ISSUE?

You’re a sick joke, lao. Everyone knows it.

BY the way, SINCE YOU BROUGHT IT UP, you said CONSERVATIVES were laughing – most or all of the comments you posted above either a) are from OBVIOUS LUNATIC LIB-TARDS AND POSSIBLY EVEN WERE POSTED BY YOU AND YOUR SOCK PUPPETS and/or b) of the 1 or 2 that do appear to be conservatives, they’re saying they expected more. That’s their opinion and they have a right to express it. But it’s hardly “laughing”.

So keep digging that hole you’re in – THAT IS THE ONE THING YOU’RE GOOD AT!

  • Bob Roberts

And, by the way, lao, THAT’S THREE LIES now.

    1) your original
    2) your posting mostly liberal comments claiming they’re conservatives
    3) you said you were going to abandon this thread yet, what do you know, YOU’RE BACK.

I’m going back down to the beach now. May, or may not, check in next hour or so. I grow weary of seeing you make such a fool of yourself with every post. It was funny, now it’s just old.

  • Bob Roberts

NOTE: lao missed my deliberate last cut & paste in my original response to his lie that conservatives were laughing:

Brietbart worked with original footage not reruns from PBS…This is how the Soviets handled dissidents. Kill them and have state indoctrinated artists rewrite their political works.

“””New Santa Clara County schools chief’s salary: $299,500

Xavier De La Torre, 48, was confirmed Wednesday afternoon as the county’s top educator. He will be paid $299,500 annually, plus receive a $12,000 annual auto allowance and, with at least a satisfactory performance in the first year, $20,000 more toward purchase of pension credits. His salary will rise automatically every July by the percentage increase in the Consumer Price Index for the Bay Area.
The silver lining for budget hawks is that the new superintendent’s salary will be less than what incumbent Charles Weis is being paid: $332,600.
But De La Torre’s base salary is more than the $293,000 base paid to Carlos Garcia, superintendent of San Francisco Unified, and nearly twice the $151,127 salary of state Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson.
The current and new Santa Clara County schools chiefs’ salaries eclipse the governor’s: Jerry Brown earns $173,987. And they make about three times what San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed would earn — $105,000 — if he weren’t refusing his salary out of deference to the city’s economic crisis.”””

To add to the Xavier De La Torre story about the lavish pay that’s only half the crime. The other half will be the exorbitant pension accumulated for retirement at the age of 55.
