Fascism’s Founding Father Places It Firmly on the Left

Founding Father of Fascism Giovanni Gentile made it clear that fascism is oligarchical collectivism — i.e., leftism:

This is why Hitler’s movement was called National Socialism; the term defines fascism. It has far more in common with communism and progressivism than it does with the individual-based, coercion-averse ideologies of the right.

On a tip from Dragon’s Lair.

Read ” Liberal Fascism” by Goldberg great book and this is a great video.

The Left called Fascism right-wing right after Hitler attacked the Soviet Union. Before that, American Reds lobbied for isolationism and appeasement, but for war afterwards.

    The Alt-Right is Not Right – It’s Left…..The alt-right is myth

One of the pillars of conservatism is “The Golden Rule,” which automatically precludes white nationalism or racial supremacy of any kind.

According to McPaper, the white nationalist/supremacist Richard Spencer coined the term in 2008. If he uses the term alt-right to identify himself and his fellow believers – this begs a question?

Was President Woodrow Wilson a member of the alt-right? He was a racist
    white supremacist.
So were President Lyndon Johnson and the late Democrat Senator Robert Byrd.
Margaret Sanger founded Planned Parenthood to halt the spread of the black race. I’d call that white supremacism.

The KKK was the enforcers of the white supremacist Southern Democrat Party,
    the Dixiecrats.

Alt-right demonstrators hit the streets adorned with Nazi paraphernalia and
    Confederate flags.

Neither of those symbols represents American conservatism.

In fact, the rise of Hitler and the Nazi Party, which these nuts appear to be so fond of, was a tale of combat between two competing leftist ideologies – fascism and communism.

Neither faction incidentally resembled conservatism or what we’ve come to
    know as “the right.”

The German KPD was the largest communist party outside the Soviet Union
    during the 1920s.

It was the Trotsky-inspired KPD or German Communist Party vs. the Hitler led fascist “National Socialist German Workers Party” (Nazis).

There were no “right-wingers” involved at all.

And did I see the word socialist?

    By cracky, I did.

I don’t know of anyone who would confuse conservatism with socialism.

    The alt-right is myth.

It’s a name crafted to confuse the public into thinking these loons were
spawned out of the conservative movement.

It should actually be relabeled, or labeled properly as the National Socialist American Party, because they are in fact fascists – not of the right and certainly not conservative.

But because of our woefully inept education system in this country, most believe fascism and Hitler were right wing.

    They couldn’t be more wrong.

The fascists were leftists who had/have a lot more in common with communists than with free market conservative capitalists.
The major difference between fascists and communists is that the former is
    nationalistic and the latter, internationalistic.

Hitler himself gave speech after speech explaining what Fascism was.

His innovation, of which he was so proud, was to modify Marxism. Instead of requiring the State to take ownership of the means of production (Communism) he had a better way: Let the businesses remain nominally independent but take complete control of them through endless bureaucratic regulation.

Once in power, that’s precisely what he did. That’s Nazi Germany in a nutshell. Marxist Government, central control of the economy, through indirect rather than direct means.

Like all forms of Socialism, Fascism REQUIRES a totalitarian State – to control the economy. And, therefore, zero personal freedom. Also – Authoritarian. ALL Fascist States throughout history have been Authoritarian.

This, oddly, is one of the reasons Leftists think Fascism is “right-wing”. Somehow, they’ve convinced themselves that Authoritarian States are “right-wing” when, the fact is, that simply is never the case. The further Left you go, the more Authoritarian the government is. Always.

Today, we see the same split within Marxism here in the US. Take healthcare as an example. “Single Payer” is nationalization of an entire sector of the economy, direct govt control – that’s the Communist policy preference. Obamacare accomplishes the same goals, but by having the federal bureaucracy control the entire healthcare sector of the economy through endless regulation by the bureaucracy. And, remember, Obamacare created 52 new agencies/boards/bureaucracies for that express purpose.

The ONLY difference between Fascism and Progressivism is that Fascist governments have all been Nationalist while Progressivism is, like Communism, multi-nationalist (globalist, if you prefer).

Before that, actually, When the NAZI’s were rising to power in Germany, the only political Party to their Left (of 35 or so Party’s, all but one of which was Left wing) was the Communists.

The “right-wing” smear of Hitler’s NAZI Party was invented, personally, by Stalin as a way to outflank, and undermine, them from the Left.

When Hitler finally came to power, he went to great lengths to take revenge on the only real rivals he had on the Left – the Communists. He also went after the only “right-wing” group (centrist, though, really) – the Catholics in the South of Germany. These two groups were the first victims of the concentration camps. Then came homosexuals, and then the Jews.

  • Franklyfrank

Exactly and why I would if I could, fund billboards all over the place defining each of these ideologies; though it wouldn’t matter to Leftists, they’re not down with facts, especially if it doesn’t support what they want.

  • ICEvictim

Mussolini insisted that “Fascism was the only form of ‘socialism’ appropriate to the proletarian nations of the twentieth century”

  • ICEvictim

here’s my favorite quote on that, Franklyfrank
    ———–
“Arguing with leftists is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how good you are at chess, the pigeon is going to knock over the pieces, crap on the board, and strut around like it is victorious.” – from RealSciene

  • Mr. Freemarket

The tip off is that both fascists and communists hate capitalists.

And capitalism is just another word for “economic freedom.”

  • Frank

And pigeons are smarter than leftists!

“Margaret Sanger founded Planned Parenthood to halt the spread of the black race. I’d call that white supremacism.”

    significantly so Frank! ha ha

Just wondering….how many white daddies were involved in producing those bundles of joy?

And if the answer is close to zero, why?
