Astronomy leads us to a unique event, a universe which was created out of nothing, and delicately balanced to provide exactly the conditions required to support life. In the absence of an absurdly improbable accident, the observations of modern science seem to suggest an underlying, one might say, supernatural plan. - Arno Allan Penzias

  • 2017: The Year the News Media Went to War Against a President

(Actually, the war started in 2016… but he was only a candidate, not President, then)

    https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/rich-noyes/2018/01/16/2017-year-news-media-went-war-against-president

The first year of the Trump administration was as turbulent for the news media as it was for politics, with many journalists dropping any pretense of professionalism to become strident opponents of the President. As a proxy for the larger establishment media, the Media Research Center analyzed every moment of coverage of President Trump last year on the ABC, CBS and NBC evening newscasts, usually seen by more than 25 million people each night. The major findings:

    ■ The Trump presidency was the biggest story of the year, accounting for one out of every three minutes of evening news airtime — nearly 100 hours in total.

    ■ The tone of coverage has been incessantly hostile, especially for a new President in his honeymoon year: 90% negative, vs. just 10% positive (These percentages do not include neutral statements).

    ■ More than two-fifths of evening news coverage of the President (43%) focused on controversies, not policies, with the Russia investigation alone accounting for one-fifth of all Trump coverage (1,234 minutes).

    ■ Despite their massive coverage of Russia, the networks had almost no airtime for questions about how the investigation began, or whether special counsel Robert Mueller’s current investigation is biased.

Now the details of our year-long study:

    ■ The Trump Presidency Was by Far the Biggest Story of 2017: From Inauguration Day (January 20) through the end of 2017 (December 31), the three evening newscasts aired 3,430 stories that talked about either President Trump or his administration, totaling 99 hours, 3 minutes of airtime. This amounts to approximately 34 percent of all evening news airtime (excluding commercials), meaning that one out of every three minutes of broadcast evening news coverage was devoted to the Trump story last year.

In contrast, MRC analysis of these same newscasts in 2015 and 2016 found that airtime devoted to President Obama and his administration amounted to approximately ten percent of overall evening news coverage in those years, or less than one-third the level of Trump’s coverage.

    ■ Coverage of Trump Has Been Incessantly Negative: Reviewing all of this coverage, our analysts catalogued 5,883 evaluative statements about the President or his administration from either reporters, anchors or non-partisan sources such as experts or voters. Only about 10 percent of those comments (617) were positive, compared with 5,266 (90%) which were negative — an unparalleled level of media hostility for a President in his first year in office.

    Because that’s just gay… that’s why.

  • 9 of 12 National Parks advisory board members quit over anger with Zinke

    https://www.axios.com/nine-1516152012-d2fd157a-4f10-4bd7-b57e-dfe85a1ab9b0.html?source=sidebar

This is what the WaPo has to say (behind a paywall) about this:

Why it matters: The Board is required to meet two times a year, but hasn’t met since President Trump took office. These resignations leave the government “without a functioning body to designate national historic or natural landmarks.”

What stopped the board from meeting? Nothing. They could have met. Nobody said, “You can’t meet”. They created this crisis by choosing to create it – by choosing not to meet, then whining about it.

As for the resignations leaving the country without a functioning board – GOOD! Now Trump can replace the moonbats that quit with responsible persons who will help him implement his agenda of giving America back to Americans. Hopefully high on the agenda will be reversing the restrictions, such as imposition of a requirement of a fee to climb to the top of half-dome, created along with a quota system that limits how many people can do it, effectively preventing most people who might have done so from doing it. I used to climb half dome every year – since the quota and permit process was created I have been unable to do so.

This isn’t Zinke’s fault and it’s not Trump’s fault. It’s the fault of the board, for not meeting so they could set up this false issue.

Given the excessive work this body did under Obama and the fact any meeting would have turned into nothing more than an anti-Trump demonstration, I think the outcome is a good one.

    Note:
    https://www.nps.gov/resources/advisoryboardmembers.htm
The National Park System Advisory Board are citizen advisors chartered by Congress to help the National Park Service care for special places saved by the American people so that all may experience our heritage.

The Board was first authorized in 1935 under the Historic Sites, Buildings, and Antiquities Act. The Board advises the Director of the National Park Service and the Secretary of the Interior on matters relating to the National Park Service, the National Park System, and programs administered by the National Park Service, including the administration of the Historic Sites, Buildings, and Antiquities Act; the designation of national historic landmarks and national natural landmarks; and the national historic significance of proposed national historic trails. The Board may advise on matters submitted to the Board by the Director, as well as any other issues identified by the Board.

This committee was established in 1935, and in recent years has advised on how to deal with global warming… Obama filled the government with people who were literally full of Catastrophic Anthropogenic Climate Change Alarmism… and still nobody has worked out the acronym!

There is nothing that stopped the board from meeting but the decision by the board not to meet. They could have met, come to some conclusions, written them up in a report and submitted it to Zinke and/or President Trump.

They chose not to. Rather, they chose this cheap political stunt.

Good riddance to those who quit.

Let’s see if the previous Secretary of the Interior attended previous meetings:

    Not this one:
    https://www.nps.gov/policy/NPSAB_Meeting_Notebook_November2016.pdf
    Not this one:
    https://www.nps.gov/policy/NPSAB_Meeting_Notebook_June2016.pdf

This is yet another fraud dreamed up to make Trump and his team look bad. The group chose not to meet and is blaming Trump and Zinke.

An apparent quote from the resignation letter:

“We understand the complexity of transition but our requests to engage have been ignored and the matters on which we wanted to brief the new Department team are clearly not part of its agenda.”
    — Departing board chairman Tony Knowles in a letter to Sec. Zinke

They were hoping for major press events where they could slam Zinke and Trump. Zinke and Trump new better than to indulge them. No doubt they were going to complain about the reversal of many of the negative actions taken during the Obama years. No doubt they were going to go for a cheap publicity stunt against the Trump agenda.

This makes what is happening clearer:

    https://www.alaskapublic.org/2018/01/16/knowles-quits-national-parks-panel-says-new-administration-wont-listen/

Knowles quits National Parks panel, says new administration won’t listen

As first reported by The Washington Post, Knowles submitted a resignation letter Monday to Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke. It’s also signed by eight others on the 12-member board. Knowles says he’s concerned the Department of Interior is undoing much of the progress made in recent years, without even listening to the merits.

“The department showed no interest in learning about or continuing to use the forward-thinking agenda of science, the effect of climate change, protections of the ecosystems, education,” Knowles said in a phone interview. “And it has rescinded NPS regulations of resource stewardship concerning those very things: biodiversity loss, pollution and climate change.”

Zinke issued an order last year freezing work on all advisory committees so the administration would review what they were doing. Knowles says the National Parks System Advisory Board is different because it was chartered by Congress. His term was due to end in May, along with most of the board members. Knowles says they requested meetings with the new team at Interior but were ignored for a year.

“If they don’t want to meet with us, fine. That’s their prerogative,” he said. “But we wanted to make a statement as a board as we left what our concerns are, because we don’t think they (the new policies) reflect the vast number of public that support the national park system.”

So they basically “quit” three or four months early, they were all on the way out anyway, and the reason they gave was they chose not to meet in a protest of the fact the current President chooses not to play the same games the last one did.

    And there’s more:

    http://theweek.com/speedreads/749118/frustrated-by-zinke-9-12-members-national-park-service-advisory-board-resign

now that there are just three members left, the government does not have a body to designate historic or natural landmarks, the Post reports.

Yes, it does. It needs some new people appointed, but the board still exists, it’s just that 3/4 of it’s members abandoned it, a few months before their terms were up, in a cheap political stunt.

    And note:

Zinke has already disbanded two commissions — the Advisory Committee on Climate Change and Natural Resource Science

You know that has a lot of moonbat panties in a real twist. What did we need an advisory body on a hoax – that wasn’t advising that it was in fact a hoax – for, anyway?

The Advisory Committee on Climate Change and Natural Resource Science was established in 2013 (by Obama) to offer advice to the Interior secretary about climate change.

Moonbats are also up in arms that Zinke got rid of Obama’s Wildlife and Hunting Heritage Conservation Council, one of the new government bodies he created as he was going out the door January 10, 2018.

Well, he didn’t get rid of it, he just gave it a proper purpose – instead of being a body that would try to stop pipelines and other projects by declaring some false issue to block them, as was attempted in North Dakota recently, Trump changed it to the Hunting and Shooting Sports Conservation Council, that will no doubt be pro Second Amendment. You can see how and why that would drive moonbats insane.

  • Another moonbat lie laid to rest.

Washington had been abuzz in recent days with details from a tell-all-style book suggesting everyone in Trump’s entourage questions his mental stability.

Of course the book is a complete work of fiction and the claim is now proven absolutely false:

Donald Trump aces mental aptitude test

    https://ca.news.yahoo.com/immigrant-canada-helped-donald-trump-224133757.html

This test quickly assesses, within 10 or 12 minutes, whether someone has suffered light cognitive impairment or the onset of Alzheimer’s disease, by asking them to perform tasks such as drawing a clock, identifying animals and remembering words.

It has now been used in 200 countries, in 60 languages, and has been deployed in one developing country to demonstrate its leader was no longer fit to govern. On Tuesday, the White House announced Trump’s score: 30 for 30.

Of course, even though Trump has made it clear immigrants who are going to contribute to America are always welcome, the story has the usual anti-Trump, false anti-immigrant slant, suggesting Trump is a bigot – something that is another common moonbat lie.

  • Yep… I’m pretty sure those aren’t cubes, but that is the point about being more stable. Those look like multimodal shipping containers.

Either way, if it works for people…great. As long as city living doesn’t become mandatory, or essentially mandatory through taxing the hell out of anyone who doesn’t live this way. Actually, I guess that’s how they’ll do it, so that all the wage slaves are forced to live like this and only the elite can afford actual homes in more rural settings. If things are going this way, I feel sorry for my kids.

Nu-males are men (with “men” being used as loosely as possible) lacking self-respect who are completely devoid of any masculinity and will jump at any moment to defend women online for feminist brownie points while falsely believing that in return, they’ll receive sexual favors. They’re a step above “Nice Guys” in terms of beta they are.

Nu-males are almost exclusively white (although some exceptions exist), ultra liberal, hipsters, wear some form of thick framed glasses with a matching obnoxious beard, submissive but outspoken (only online), in their 20-30s, harbor any form of self-hatred (white guilt, male guilt, etc.), either are thin as a twig or are overweight and very active on social media. They’re often pseudo-intellectuals and will opt to blocking as their form of arguing online to any opposing opinions or valid criticism in order to protect their fragile egos. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/17c17634e0640547131bfa639014f43c25073114103c7380b514f33935fba001.png

Been inside one of these once… someone I knew lived there in one of the “studio” version rooms. They’re basically concrete rectangles… probably about the size of one of those ISO shipping containers. Basically one long room, don’t even know if there’s any privacy for the bathroom… or if there was a shared bathroom for each floor at the end of the hall. Didn’t stay long enough to find out. But the floor plan suggests they had a bathroom… I never saw it. Maybe it did, I don’t know.

I invested a lot of $$,$$$ the other day, the markets rebounded and now I’m making good $$$$… It was certainly a great opportunity and I took advantage of it.

Of course the progressives are still buying their lotto tickets, lol…

  • Buy on the dips, take profit as close to the highs as you can get.

Most investment advisors will tell you that you can never succeed, long term, timing the market.

But it seems to be working for you right now.

  • Nick Testa

Oh I succeed…. There are groups out there that dump & pump and advertise it in on twitter, I’ve jumped on the bandwagon with them several times and make a couple of grand each time in a matter of a couple of hours.

Highs and lows come in waves like every 5 minutes… A coin will go from like 80 cents to $1.00, then go back down to 85 cents, then up to $1.10 all in a span of minutes. If you can buy the dips and sell high and ride the “wave” you can literally make thousands within an hour or 2..

As far as right now the market hasn’t completely rebounded yet so there are plenty of good coins out there that will eventually regain all their value.

This is definitely a buyers market presently. Bitcoin (BTC) is pretty low – 11.5k so there is plenty of money to be made. When Bitcoin goes back to 15-16 per there are going to be a lot of happy humans.
