Arizona Takes a Stand Against Federal Tyranny

Looks like I was right to abandon the People’s Republic of New York for the Great State of Arizona:

A Republican-sponsored bill barring enforcement of new federal guns laws sparked passionate debate in an Arizona Senate committee that ultimately passed the bill Wednesday.

The party-line vote moved the first of several anti-gun control bills introduced in the Legislature to the floor on the same day the U.S. Congress heard a plea from former U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords to pass new gun control laws.

The bill co-sponsored by [the aptly named] state Sen. Don Shooter, four other senators and several members of the House of Representatives would bar enforcement of new federal laws affecting semi-automatic firearms or high-capacity magazines. It also makes any federal official trying to enforce such laws guilty of a felony and allows the state Attorney General to defend anyone prosecuted for violating federal gun laws if the gun was made in Arizona, among other provisions.

The bill was based on similar Wyoming legislation. All it needs is a signature from Governor Jan Brewer, who has stood up to Obama before.

The party line vote means that even in the state that produced Barry Goldwater, Democrats can be relied on to side with federal tyranny against both states rights and the Bill of Rights.

“Shove off, punk.”

Arizona to King Obama the Fink BACK OFF

These statist punks will use anything…including a brain-damaged Senator…to lull the public into submission.

Some of us won’t be lulled. Guess they’re going to have to use force…and they intend to. It’ll never be reported as such, of course. We’ll be labeled “extremists” and they’ll concoct some story as to why we were taken out, but the fact remains they aren’t going to get their way like they want. They’ll have to get their hands dirty.

Arizona can kiss all those federal grants goodbye. You know Obama is going to hold them hostage with his bottomless checkbook.

  4. Jodie says:

Several states are passing laws barring enforcement of unconstitutional federal laws. Obama’s solution for this will probably be to send in his future Civilian National Security Force – which will likely be filled with a lot of angry young black men equipped with assault weapons.

I don’t know what to make of this story…total bullshit or a possibility?

Arizona is looking better and better for retirement! Next step is clear: make enforcement of any federal law a felony.

    That’s where I am at.

    @ Dave

As another former NYer, I have to say that Arizona freakin rocks.

Brewer seriously had better sign this into law.

I haven’t felt good since that feminine, skeet-shooting wanna be, muslim, took office for the first time. I have hope now though.

    Impeachment/arrest, anyone?

President Obama, continuing his permanent campaign strategy on every issue, took to the road today to head to Minnesota. Why? Because a youth violence initiative – an initiative that does not contain gun control – has decreased violence. That despite the fact that the number of guns discovered at Minneapolis crime scenes was up a full 27.5% last year.
It is interesting to watch pressure from Obama, the media, and hard Marxist gun grabbers “crack” their own Democrapt party here.
Rural Democrapts may as well precede any gun grabbing vote with a blindfold and last cigarette.

    This has some interesting ramifications:
    1. The Justice Department has established a precident of forbiding non-federal officials from enforcing the federal immigration laws. How does this fit in.
    2. Will the USAG attempt to go through the courts, and how will they rule.
    3. How will the ruling affect the “sanctuary Cities”?
    4. Will the USAG attempt to use federal personel to enforce the law, and possibly face an armed confrontation with local authorities without a federal court ruling?
    5. Even if there is on overt resistance what happens if the feds get in trouble and the local law doesn’t come to their rescue?
These are questions that would cause a smart leader to consider very carefully, but that description does not seem to include HBC.

If there remains any hope for this country it lies in the hands of state governors and legislators to stand up to the federal oligarchs and say “NO” we will not submit to tyranny. I applaud Arizona, Texas, Wyoming and other states that have taken a stand on this issue. God bless them all.

Don’t blame the Demoncrats. Blame the people who vote for them. Remember, it is the people of AZ. who keep the gutless RINO Juan McLoser in congress.
