Blame Shared for Worst Song Ever Recorded

As noted previously, John Lennon’s “Imagine” is arguably the worst song in human history. Ben Shapiro makes the case:

Decades after it was first inflicted on us in 1971, we learn that Lennon himself does not deserve all of the blame for it. Some goes to his moonbat mate Yoko Ono:

At the annual meeting of the National Music Publishers Association in New York on Wednesday, Yoko and Sean Ono Lennon received the organization’s new Centennial Song award for John Lennon’s legendary 1971 song “Imagine” — and Yoko received more than that. NMPA CEO David Israelite showed a video from 1980 wherein John said that Yoko deserved a songwriting credit for “Imagine” because of her influence and inspiration on it — and Israelite announced that in accordance with Lennon’s wish, Yoko will be added to the song as a co-writer.

Fortunately, Yoko’s songwriting skills have improved. Via Daily Caller, here’s a vastly superior composition from a few months ago:

What I find entertaining is when a crowd of protesting moonbats starts singing “Give Peace a Chance,” because when they do, they suddenly (to their horror) realize two things:

1.) They don’t know any of the stupid verses; just the stupid chorus.

2.) They have no idea how to stop, and it just sort of dwindles away into an embarrassed mumble.

Some people are born with literally no discernible talent for anything. But if they marry right, they get to live a very comfortable life, hob-nob with the “accomplished, successful set”, are automatically regarded as “famous”, and maybe even get to be referred to as an “artist”…albeit an avant-garde one, for what that’s worth.
The rest of us, sadly, have to resort to working for a living.

You know what, the song is what it is. It was written almost 40 years ago, you either hate it or love it. I just don’t understand why it has to be constantly brought up to be bashed.

it’s just a song…not worth all the vitrol…imagine all the weasels, stuffed into a bag…

  11. MAS says:

Maybe because it was/is the anthem of folks like Bernie and Hillary (plus far too many RNC types). A song they grew up with but never outgrew and so it remains relevant decades later..

I thought the worst songs were all from Rush.
