Christianity Pushes Back With Nashville Statement

Will leftists destroy Christianity from within, carving out the content and replacing it with degenerate moonbattery? Not if Christians push back:

A nationwide coalition of more than 150 conservative Christian leaders signed a statement, released Tuesday, affirming their beliefs on human sexuality, including that marriage is between one man and one woman and approval of “homosexual immorality” is sinful.

The Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood’s list of 14 beliefs, referred to as the Nashville Statement, is a response to an increasingly post-Christian, Western culture that thinks it can change God’s design for humans, according to the statement.

“Our true identity, as male and female persons, is given by God. It is not only foolish, but hopeless, to try to make ourselves what God did not create us to be,” the statement from the coalition members reads.

The Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood convened a meeting of evangelical leaders, pastors and scholars Friday at the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission’s annual conference in Nashville. The coalition discussed and endorsed the statement.

Naturally, the fifth column is livid:

In a series of tweets, Pastor Brandan Robertson of MissionGathering Christian Church in San Diego, an LGBT activist who helped organize a protest at the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission conference, called the statement an affront to God’s creative design.

“When your theology breeds death, your theology is not of God,” he tweeted.

Actually, it is the glorification of perversion that breeds death. Over 1 million people died of AIDS in 2015. In stark contrast, normal families and healthy sexuality breed life; that is their purpose.

Purity and depravity are not equal.

On a tip from daPenguin.

    Finally a bit of sanity…..

Pastor Brandon Robertson needs to read his Bible, perhaps starting with Leviticus 18:22 and Romans 1:26-27.
Also if Pastor Robertson thinks that homosexuality has anything to do with God’s design then perhaps it’s a good thing that he’s not a plumber or an engineer.
Any good designer will tell you that water pipes are never connected to sewer pipes, nor should any designer fail to understand the difference between an entrance and an exit.
    Just saying….

He should also meditate on the reasons for such signage:

It’s like a man with anger issues being told that it’s ok to beat his wife because:
“it’s who you are” and “you should be true to yourself” and “you should be proud that you’re an angry person”.

Homosexuality is no different. Any argument that supports a homosexual lifestyle can be used equally to support pedophilia, bestiality, kleptomania, mindless violence, alcoholism and any other number of such behaviors!
