Dem Rep Calls Defenders of Second Amendment “Domestic Security Threats”

It is hard to imagine anything good coming of rhetoric intended to intimidate going this far over the line:

Kathleen Rice is a Democrat congresscritter from New York. She opposes the NRA because it lobbies in defense of our Second Amendment liberties, and Dana Loesch because she is a spokeswoman for the NRA.

Speaking of domestic threats, as a lawmaker Ms. Rice might be interested to know that there is actually a law against conspiring to deprive Americans of their constitutional rights. Presenting U.S. Code, Title 18, Part I, Chapter 13, § 241:

If two or more persons conspire to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or because of his having so exercised the same…

They shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both…

As with the Tenth Amendment, dusting off this law might spell big trouble for the Democrat Party.

On a tip from Torcer.

Not that I question it’s veracity, but I’d like to have backup for it in the future.

Certainly one of the chief guarantees of freedom under any government, no matter how popular and respected, is the rights of citizens to keep and bear arms. This is not to say that firearms should not be very carefully used, and that definite safety rules of precaution should not be taught and enforced. But the right of citizens to bear arms is just one more guarantee against arbitrary government, one more safeguard against a tyranny which now appears remote in America, but which historically has proved to be always possible.

The NRAs adds are certainly feeding the divisiveness in America.
There has been no action on gun control in years… The NRA gets funding from people who are afraid of losing their guns, so naturally the NRA is going to fear monger over the issue.

The new tact of saying that citizens need to arm themselves so they can be an iron fist of truth is beyond the pail and is bordering on radicalization.
Republicans control every part of the government… no one is coming for your guns people.

How to Ban Guns: A step by step, long term process

The only way we can truly be safe and prevent further gun violence is to ban civilian ownership of all guns.
The very first thing we need is national registry. We need to know where the guns are, and who has them.
Along with this, make private sales illegal. When a firearm is transferred, make it law that the registration must be updated.
Now, maybe he sold them or they got lost or something. But it gives us a good target for investigation.
I’m concerned that other guy who bought a half dozen assault weapons, registered two hunting rifles, and belongs to the NRA/GOA. He’s the guy who warrants a raid.

So registration is the first step. Now that the vast majority are registered, we can do what we will. One good first step would be to close the registry to new registrations.

Another of those gun confiscations which we’re told never happens

Calif. Courts Seized Guns From 86 People Deemed “Immediate Danger” Under New Law
California courts ordered 86 people to temporarily give up their firearms last year, using a new law that allows for “gun violence restraining orders.”

The law allows family members or law enforcement officers to seek such an order against someone they judge to be an “immediate and present danger,” the Sacramento Bee reports. The suspensions by default last 21 days, but in 10 cases were extended to a full year by a judge’s subsequent order.

The legislation emerged in 2014, after a shooting spree claimed the lives of six in Isla Vista, Calif., where UCLA is located. While it received support from many, including parents of the victims, critics worried that the bill would allow officials to strip citizens of their guns without good cause, violating their constitutional rights.
