Dictating to the Whole Country From a Mayor’s Office

You didn’t think the buffoonish halfwit Joe Biden is really in the drivers seat regarding the Obama Regime’s predictable campaign to disarm us, did you? This is serious business. Biden is no angel, but to cut the throat of America as we’ve known it, you need someone downright evil:

[Michael] Bloomberg said he’s talked “numerous times” with Vice President Joe Biden to push seven key changes to federal law that he wants Biden to include among gun control recommendations he plans to make to the President Tuesday.

The NYC Mayor’s plan for the rest of the country

also includes bills to ban assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines, and make gun trafficking a felony under federal law.

As we have seen repeatedly, “assault weapons” are whatever weapons the government wants to take away from you. The Democrat–media complex has yet to define the term meaningfully. “Gun trafficking” means selling guns; statists use the word trafficking to make it sound sinister. As for “high-capacity” magazines — a bill sailing through New York’s state legislature for Andrew Cuomo’s eager signature defines anything above seven rounds as high capacity and therefore illegal. A standard .22 target pistol takes 10 rounds.

If they can take our right to bear arms, the rest will be child’s play. It will be all downhill for authoritarian collectivists from here to the next Holocaust or Holodomor.

A dictator.

On tips from Wiggins, Dr. 9, and A. Levy.

    I regret that we went to war over an attack on NYC, it is not a part of the United States, and the voters there have repeatedly stabbed the rest of us in the back for decades.

    Giving the finger to a fellow motorist is never a good idea — but it’s especially hazardous when the other driver is a cop.

    That’s what Aneury Peralta, 22, of East Harlem learned in October 2011 when he and an unidentified detective got stuck on 107th St. behind a garbage truck.

    The details were spelled out in a $2.1 million civil rights lawsuit disclosed Monday in Manhattan Supreme Court.

    When Peralta realized he would have to wait for sanitation men to finish their trash toss, he tried to slip into a curbside parking spot, but the driver behind him refused to back up, Peralta’s lawyer K.C. Okoli said.

    The ticket belonging to Aneury Peralta, charging him with reckless driving.

    A few minutes later, he heard “persistent horn honking,” according to court papers.

    Realizing the garbage truck was moving, Peralta started to move, too — but, his lawyer said, he was annoyed by the honking, so he stuck his hand out the window.

    “He did what virtually everyone does in New York. He gave him the finger,” Okoli said in an interview.

    The other driver jumped out of his car, opened Peralta’s door and demanded, “Say to me again what you just said,” according to Okoli.

    Peralta obliged — sticking out his middle finger — again.

    According to papers, the other driver then pushed Peralta “in a clear attempt to provoke” him into a fight, and that’s when Peralta realized the other driver was no ordinary New Yorker.

    “My client’s a big guy compared to the detective. He understood then if you weren’t a cop, you wouldn’t be doing this,” Okoli said.

    According to the suit, the second driver reached into Peralta’s car, “violently removed the key from the ignition,” broke the key — and when Peralta demanded to know why, flashed an ID card showing he was a detective.

    Andrew Theodorakis/New York Daily News
    Aneury Peralta may turn an obscene gesture most New Yorkers use on a daily basis into a massive payoff.

    The suit says the detective then called for backup and two other officers gave Peralta a ticket for disorderly conduct, which was dismissed in late December.

    Three weeks later, court papers say, Peralta was in his family’s bodega on Fifth Ave. near 116th St. when three cops and a sergeant arrived, told him that someone was drinking on the sidewalk outside and demanded to see his license.

    The suit claims that when the sergeant told Peralta there was a warrant out for his arrest, Peralta reached for a cell phone to call his brother. He was busted on the spot and charged with resisting arrest.

    Court records show that the Manhattan District Attorney’s office declined to prosecute Peralta on the resisting arrest charge.

    The NYPD did not immediately comment on the suit.

    And just who might be pulling Bloomberg’s strings? You get one guess, but here’s some hints:

    “In this April 24 file photo, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg speaks during an interview on FOX News Sunday, in Washington. On Thursday, Aug. 4, Bloomberg announced a $127.5 million plan to save New York’s young black and Hispanic men with the help of billionaire George Soros.”

    “George Soros Makes Announcement With Mayor Bloomberg And Gov. Paterson

    NEW YORK – AUGUST 11: Billionaire George Soros (R) and New York City schools chancellor Joel Klein visit P.S. 208 in Harlem where Soros announced a $35 million gift for low-income families in New York to purchase supplies and clothing for the new school year August 11, 2009 in New York City. The public-private partnership with New York state called Back to School New York will provide $200 per child to the families of over 850,000 children who receive public assistance or food stamps in the state.”

    “Business moguls who favor stricter gun-control laws — among them Bloomberg LP founder and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, financier George Soros and entertainment honcho David Geffen — are in the unique position of being able to put their money where their mouths are, and with a single bold move can change the raging gun debate in a way that intransigent politicians cannot.”

  9. JNN says:

    Dear People of NYC,

    Please tell us that you are going to get rid of this little pathetic loser soon.

  10. Bo-Jangles says:

    As a life-long NYC’er, i can tell you that life here has never been as expensive, nor as oppressive, as it’s become under the rule of this 5′-tall, limp-wristed tyrant. Also understand that NYC’s politics are totally dominated by leftist Demoncrats, (there are no republicans in NYC govt.) and it’s all controlled from Manhattan, a place i believe to be the most liberal in the nation. This is how Bloomberg was able to simply buy himself an “illegal” third term as mayor. Of course, he had the help of a totally corrupt city council.

    The rest of the city is now made-up mostly of foreigners, most of whom are here illegally. Yes, thanks to His Majesty Bloomberg, NYC is a sanctuary city with “free” goodies for all. All, except the poor fools who go to work everyday and actually pay their taxes. And no, it’s not at all easy for many of us to simply pick-up and leave.

    The good part? Queen Bloomberg will “finally” leave office next year. The bad part? A long list of totally corrupt, hard-core leftist Demoncrats are waiting in the wings to move in.

  11. A. Levy says:

    “The current liberal crusade for more so-called gun-control laws is more of the same. Factual studies over the years, both in the United States and in other countries, repeatedly show that “gun control” laws do not in fact reduce crimes committed with guns.

    Cities with some of the tightest gun-control laws in the nation have murder rates far above the national average. In the middle of the 20th century, New York had far more restrictive gun-control laws than did London, but London had far less gun crime. Yet gun crimes in London skyrocketed after severe gun-control laws were imposed over the next several decades.

    Although gun control is not usually considered a racial issue, a wholly disproportionate number of Americans killed by guns are black. But here, as elsewhere, liberals’ devotion to their ideology greatly exceeds their concern about what actually happens to flesh-and-blood human beings as a result of their ideology…” — Thomas Sowell

    The day after Hurricane Sandy, ABC was reporting that life as usual was going on in New York City. Everything was fine and people were working and shopping and going about their lives. I was stunned when I heard that. Are you kidding? Your neighbors are cold and wet and soon they will be hungry and very tired. Then, they will have trouble breathing, due to the mud and dirt and debris. And New Yorkers are going on as if nothing was wrong? Shameful! These people weren’t taking food or blankets or money to their neighbors. They weren’t helping anyone clean up. Sure, they may have attended a Bon Jovi or Springsteen concert, but that’s about it. Then, they partied like they were kings on New Year’s Eve. All the while, the Sandy victims were suffering and many still are.

    New Yorkers think nothing will ever happen to them.
    Good luck with that greedy, self-serving lifestyle there in Bloombergistan!

  25. Ghost of FA Hayek says:

    Will this gun “trafficking” law affecting a (currently) legal product be applied like California’s human trafficking law ?
    If a company meets requirements, it “must post a conspicuous and easily understood link on its website to disclosure statement that sets forth to what extent, if any that retail seller or manufacturer:

    Engages in verification of product supply chains to evaluate and address risks of human trafficking and slavery;
    Conducts audits of suppliers to evaluate supplier compliance with company standards for trafficking and slavery in supply chains;
    Requires direct suppliers to certify that materials incorporated into the product comply with the laws regarding slavery and human trafficking of the country or countries in which they are doing business;
    Maintains internal accountability standards and procedures for employees or contractors failing to meet company standards regarding slavery and trafficking; and
    Provides company employees and managers, who have direct responsibility for supply chain management, training on human trafficking and slavery, particularly with respect to mitigating risks with the supply chains of products…

    A company could comply with the Act by simply disclosing that it has no policy regarding, and does not monitor, labor conditions involved in the production of its products or the materials incorporated in its products. This response, however, may have a negative public relations consequence with cost far greater then implementing a policy and internal controls…
