Earth Survives Sequester… So Far

Compliments of Zappatrust.

Surprisingly, the sun rose this morning, even in the face of the ballyhooed sequester. In even better news, it has been revealed that despite years of Obama deliberately driving up unemployment by every means possible in order to increase government dependence, there are still at least 170 million jobs left in the country. There must be, because Rep. Maxine Waters shrieks:

“We don’t need to be having something like sequestration that’s going to cause these jobs losses, over 170 million jobs that could be lost.”

Bad as that might sound, imagine if we hadn’t flushed a $trillion down the toilet with the Stimulus porkfest. Waters’s colleague Nancy Pelosi informed us that America would lose 500,000,000 jobs for every month it didn’t pass. That means that if the looting spree had been stopped, by now we would have lost 24,500,000,000 jobs.

What? You say there are already only 143 million Americans left in the workforce? Never mind jobs then — we have other reasons to panic:

Rep. Donna Edwards (D-Md.) said that if the sequester goes into effect, women who are victims of domestic violence will be “forced to stay in their homes with their abuser” at the “hands of the GOP.”

Never mind that the sequester came out of Obama’s White House.

In case anyone is taking this farce seriously, this graph from Zero Hedge adds a little perspective:

Oh dear. I forgot to panic this morning. I guess I should have done a meeting maker thingy on my computer with the little chime.

Wasn’t this Maxine Waters, also, or am I getting her mixed up with someone else. It’s difficult to discern the Democrat illustrious from the illiterate.

(screaming loud) Yes! Everybody in Cleveland, low minorities, got Obama phone. Keep Obama in president, you know? He gave us a phone!

If the economy is so institutionalized by government dependance that the sequester will bring us to our knees, then the best thing we can do is gut all government spending so that the economy and our lives are no longer the hostages of politics and the greed of collectivists.

Forest, maybe that’s because the sequester-thingy isn’t in the news now. It’s hilarious… check out Yahoo News, in the politics section. NOTHING. Obama flubs a Star Trek reference, Joan Rivers made a tasteless joke, one of the Manson family was denied parole (Really? Who would have expected that…), but NO sequestration reporting at all.

So, after months of playing “chicken-little”, the MSM is simply ignoring the fact that the sky is still up there, and they were full of chickens***.

Sequestration-mageddon! Stocks Rise of 1st Day of Sequestration. In fact the Dow closed at its 3rd highest lever EVER:

There is a twist to all this.

Obama is already blaming ANY downturn in the economy/jobless/housing prices, you name it, on…..The Sequester…caused by….REPUBLICANS.
He’s got his ducks in a row. Now he can stop the lying about unemployment rate, budget defecit, not passing a budget. It is all playing into his hands perfectly.

And we all thought he was incompetent. This is just what he wanted.

    @ Eric

It’s working for him only because the media covers for him and too many people still don’t use alternative sources.

The President of the United States would like to tell all of us American citizens something that will happen when his sequestration cuts. Keep in mind, these are actually not “cuts” but will be deficit neutral to growth of the economy.
