Federal Madhouse Bans the Word “Lunatic”

As the nation staggers through hard times toward total ruin as a result of the toll taken on the economy by Big Government, it’s nice to see our rulers finally addressing the serious issues that threaten us:

The word “lunatic” will be stricken from federal law under legislation that passed the House on Wednesday and is headed to President Obama for his signature.

The Congressional action is the latest effort to remove language from federal law that has become outdated or is considered demeaning.

Words are especially “demeaning” when they hit too close to home.

Only one Rep voted against the measure.

The lone “no” vote was cast by Representative Louie Gohmert, Republican of Texas, who said in a statement that “not only should we not eliminate the word ‘lunatic’ from federal law when the most pressing issue of the day is saving our country from bankruptcy, we should use the word to describe the people who want to continue with business as usual in Washington.”

But as the 398-1 vote confirms, the lunatics are running the asylum now.

Next, bureaucrats will abolish the word “parasite.”

Surrounded by lunatics.

Chicago, urban, lunatic. Call the thought police for even typing those dastardly offensive words.

  2. Dadof3 says:

    Stay strong Gohmert.

Just because there is a concensus that 2+2 is 22 doesn’t mean it’s right.

Our nation is 24 days from a fiscal disaster……

while our elected representatives (OUR ELITE OVERSEERS)……

are concerned about what they consider hateful words……

There are some words that are just too dangerous for some people.

So what word should be banned next? How about “constitution” or “second amendment”?

I understand that Boehner has proposed to ban the words crybaby sniveling RINO cowardly obamasycophant traitor from the American lexicon.

The black caucus has already voted to ban the South Park episode that used the word “nagger.”

Meanwhile, Eric Holder had several astronomers arrested for using the phrase “B***k H**e in a scientific article.

The New Black Panther party has outlawed the words “dice”, “watermelon”, and “Tara” for some reason.

I see where Lindy Lohan wants the word “lobotomy” banned.

Personally, I thought BO went a little too far when he tried to get congress to ban the word ‘birth’; and then a week later tried to get the word ‘certificate’ banned.

States should follow congress’ example and ban the word “Obamacare”.

398 votes to ban free speech in a republican-controlled house.

Wasn’t there at one time, somewhere, that the U.S. had a representative government?

Well, wait a minute….doesn’t it make writing to your congressman a lot easier when everyone could simply and accurately use the salutation,

    ———————– “Dear Lunatic”

What a bunch of mental defectives.
Oops, can I say that ?

  7. SNuss says:

Actually, losing the words “lunatic” and “parasite” is not a big issue. Just substitute “Liberal” and “progressive”. Problem solved.

  8. Jimbo says:

A crazy bastard by any other name is still a freaking lunatic.

I vote that “outdated” and “demeaning” also be removed from the language because they are… oh never mind.

Well…they are not banning free speech…they are just pretending that by eliminating a specific word, the condition will go away.

    Lunacy is defined at:
    a : insanity
b : intermittent insanity once believed to be related to phases of the moon
: wild foolishness : extravagant folly
    : a foolish act

The only reason that lunacy doesn’t necessarily apply to congress is that lunacy was once believed to be periodic, with occasional periods of relative sanity. Clearly congress doesn’t seem to be burdened with periods of sanity.

Here’s the other funny thing….the Dear Leader will sign this bill…this is the same person who believes that we can continue to run up trillion dollar deficits without destroying the nation. How is that not “wild foolishness, extravagant folly, or an obviously foolish act?

Only two possibilities…our president is a lunatic, or he is evil with an intent to destroy America. In either case, he is not worthy to continue to serve.

What is truly scary is that in the entire House there was only one sane, rational voice. If that doesn’t tell you that our system of govt, not just the Marxist govt. that is now in power, but the entire system is a complete failure. I’m sure the thought of that is very scary to most people. But IMO, the thought of letting this system continue is a whole lot more scary.

  13. Jimbo says:

Have I reminded you to buy ammo, today? No?

Buy ammo today. You will obviously need it.

The liberals have forced me into it. I am now pro-choice. I chose to abort liberals. LATE-term. The worthless hypocrite bastards are wasting perfectly good resources intended for humans who are not suicidal.

I am definitely calling my elected representative (MY ELITE OVERSEER IS TOM PRICE R/GA) on Monday morning……

    and will ask him why……

Congressman Price and 397 other ELECTED OVERSEERS wasted legislative time with this kind of BULL$HIT.

Just the Libs securing their voter base. Nothing new here.

  16. Sid says:

God Bless Gohmert, the last public servant and true people’s representative left in Washington.

  17. SNuss says:

This truly is a perfect example of the “lunatics” running the asylum.

  18. Sponge Robert RectangulAr Trousers says:

Soon they will get to second level word banning, where they have to ban their own euphemisms. Words like ” special”, ” challenged”, and ” congressman”, which are now being used by school kids to taunt each other.
Wasn’t that why they got rid of “retarded”? We are not as dumb as they think we are… We still know a retarded person when we see one.(well, at least 49% of us do….)

  19. deepred says:

The lunatics in Washington are either brain damaged, from the dark side of the moon, or both.

“I just would like for my grandchildren to read some day that I did my part in saving my country from this lunacy,”

Which means in effect, that Farage will not be invited to address the U.S. congress anytime soon.

  21. Highway Hospital Student says:

Just wondering…are there any other groups besides Moonbattery that are totally embarrassed by the lunacy of the U.S. congress?
