Fiscal Cliff Tax Hike Summed Up in One Graph

A picture is only worth 1,000 words. This graph representing the Obama–Boehner “fiscal cliff” tax hike is worth another $62 billion counterproductively sucked out of the private economy as our rogue government proceeds to spend America into the dustbin of history:

Obviously, the looters in Washington have zero intention of correcting course before the economy inevitably crashes.

On a tip from The Only Other Conservative in Seattle.

When, in history, have rulers with unlimited powers, including the power to take all from those who have earned it, ever peacefully given up that power?

And, if your answer is, “that’s what elections are for”, think again. Count all the elections we’ve had in this country, now count how many times things have actually changed and improved “for the people”.

It takes an incredibily stupid person to think that congress would actually stop spending, wasting, stealing, and giving away “our” money, especially when they know how easy it is to get more from us.

  2. F.D.R. in Hell says:

Uncle Joe Stalin tells me, the American economy won’t collapse until all the guns are confiscated.
    Comforting news? 👿

  3. Laurie says:

So now the big questions are: Since it’s obvious that this is all going to collapse sometime in the future:

    1. How do we prepare for it?
    2. How can we profit off of it?

  4. Mr Evilwrench says:

Pft, at this point, they’re not even getting much of it from us. They’re pulling it out of their little time machine, way beyond what exists. What with unfunded liabilities, some of it never will exist. There are not enough resources on the planet.

  5. Jim says:

It’s so simple a liberal can understand it, but they will go into denial anyway. Anyone got a 2 X 4?

  6. IslandLifer says:

Well, everything is going according to plan.

  7. old surfer says:

No problem, they’ve got it figured out – just mint a bunch of platinum trillion dollar coins, put them in the bank and write checks against the deposited funds. Give a couple to China and ask for change -what could go wrong?

  8. dan says:

Going Feudal …. where the serfs only had to pay 20% to the Feudal Lord and they had sword control laws
….and the limited resources all belonged to the King and his Barrons/co-horts
…and we had Holy Crusades to thin out the minions

I guess that’s the plan Barron Rothschild (red-shield)
    wanted all along

  9. AngryK9 says:

This frustrates me to no end. They laugh at us while they fleece us. They enrich themsleves and their cronies. They throw a few bones to the uniformed voters so they will keep electing them. The system is broken. The ballot box doesn’t work anymore.

  10. Scar says:

My congressman voted against it! I think I’ll keep him.
These other critters need to be fired.

  11. Ghost of FA Hayek says:

The place to check is exactly how much deficit spending your Congresscritter voted for.
That is the crux of the problem.

Personally, I believe we would have been better off had the Bush tax cuts been allowed to expire.
At least some of those Obamazombies voting their free sh** would start paying their “fair share”

  12. Stan Back says:

Anyone who believes some coin with Imam Hussein’s profile on it is going to be worth a trillion dollars is too stupid to live. At $1500 an ounce, the coin would have to be 20833 tons in weight to have the full face value. So this is another “faith based” money; a worthless fiat coin.

  13. Zimbabwe? Yes We Can! says:

P.S. Zimbabwe has some nice trillion dollar bills that are used for wallpaper and asswipe duties.

  14. Old Surfer says:

“Anyone who believes some coin with Imam Hussein’s profile on it is going to be worth a trillion dollars is too stupid to live.”

No Shit Sherlock, but apparently it would be legal under the currency laws. Anyone who believes paper money has any intrinsic value is right in there as well. We’ve been running on fiat currency since 1965, and as of a couple of years ago, a nickle was worth more as metal than money.
I still like the idea of giving one to the Chinese and asking for change.

  15. Len says:

This is the best post I have ever seen here. Gets the point across.

  16. Gandolf says:

“It sounds silly but it’s absolutely legal,” Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-New York) tells New York Capital this week. “There is specific statutory authority that says that the Federal Reserve can mint any non-gold or -silver coin in any denomination, so all you do is you tell the Federal Reserve to make a platinum coin for one trillion dollars, and then you deposit it in the Treasury account, and you pay your bills.”

  17. fabrique in chine (never) says:

Hey let’s give China 20 of those trillion dollar coins and see if they fall for it and give us 4 trillion in change back? The rockstar messiah is so cool they might fall for it!

  18. Brock Landers says:

@Comrade Old Serfer, Dear Leader Emperor Hussein the coolest marxist rockstar professor eva usurped all of the powers of congress while they were buffing their golden parachutes and enjoying a frenzy at the tax revenue trough. A few more über-wise latina supremes and congress will be totally boxed in. Any day Emperor Hussein the Immaculate will notify congrss to disband and head home since they are no longer needed.

  19. 762x51 says:

Washington is intentionally taking the country over this so called fiscal cliff. Once they have destroyed the dollar and the economy crashes they can implement the gun laws they want to disarm the population based on the anarchy that will follow. This all leads to a police state where there are no “citizens” only servants o the state.

This has been a plan in the works for decades.

  20. USSA Comrades! says:

@762×51 they called em tinfoil hat heads and conspiracy theorist (as opposed to what a coincidence theorist?) but who is laughing now?
