GOP Already Making Ammo Out of James Comey’s Statement on Hillary’s Emails

Apparently following orders from above, James Comey declined to recommend Shrillary be indicted. But at least he put it on the public record that she has been lying through her teeth:

The idea that this woman could be trusted with the power of the presidency is preposterous.

yeah, yeah, blah-blah-blah…we’re all impressed with your “principles”,,,

Sit home and suck your thumb on Election Day, or cast a futile vote for some nobody…

  7. calmly_observing says:

Principles have served both the GOP and conservatives well in the past decade. Look at the principles followed by making promises to get Tea Party votes only to give us a certain finger afterwards, as a prime example.

  8. Feet2Fire says:

Although talking heads on TV keep pontificating about Comey’s “integrity” and “impeccable record,” it’s hard to imagine how someone with an ounce of REAL INTEGRITY could quite literally “sell his soul to the devil” to protect Hillary Clinton and risk her becoming President of our country!

  9. Feet2Fire says:

    Oh, give it up, Johnny.

The feeble #NeverTrump “movement” died a long way back.
“Move on,” as our could-be* Prezzy Hillary would say. :

*Could-be Prezzy if enough folks refuse to face reality and elect TRUMP, but rather cling to their “dream” candidate or stay home rather than vote.

  10. Feet2Fire says:

The most essential “principle” in our country now is REALITY. The reality is: We have to choose between Hillary or Trump. Choose wisely. (And stop with the fairytale myth that a Third Party candidate or last-minute nominee swap will solve anything.)

  11. Feet2Fire says:

    MAY have??

  12. Tostig says:

A strong majority has already ruled out Trump. There is only one other candidate. Everything else is a footnote.

You are preaching to the choir with me. But if you believe the comments……I mean vents posted on many conservative websites like this, many will not let their “principles” be eroded. I guess they haven’t voted GOP in decades…..

So she lied repeatedly to the American people, the FBI, and to Congress, put classified material at risk either

    a:because she didn’t care, or

b: was too stupid to realize the security risk

(I pick “a” by the way), and knowingly violated laws regarding the handling of sensitive correspondence.

But let’s still consider her as presidential material– right?. After this, the average govt employee would NEVER be in a position to ever again have access to classified material. Yet people STILL think she should be in charge of the Pentagon, the CIA, and the NSA?

Really people? REALLY? If a substantial number of Americans are THIS f’ing stupid, then I’m afraid there’s no reason for hope for the republic.

As for Comey’s assertion that all of this was done without intent: The intent could easily be demonstrated by citing the reason why Hillary demanded a private server in the first place. She wanted to use her position as SoS to grant favors from America, to entities around the world who would in return channel funds to the Clinton Foundation, either directly by third party contributions, or through overpriced, bullshit speechs by Bill. In this way, she could filter out emails that represented normal State Dept. business, vs. the ones that referred to her “pay for play” schemes.

  23. Tom says:

Sounds like you are describing the anti-Trumpers here…they keep bleating about their principles, and how No True Conservative could ever support Trump….

They can’t quite grasp – apparently – that Obama 3.0, e.g. Hillary, would be an unprecedented calamity for America. Even after the shamelessly, in-your-FACE corruption revealed in this whole incestuous email coverup, they’ll bravely cite their “I voted for the patrician NE liberal in 2012 but never Trump, because principles!!” opposition to, and vigorously slam, slime, and demean, the only alternative to Hillary.

They seem to selfishly believe that their singular “This time I really mean it, GOP! I’m staying home!” stand on conservative principles outweighs or is more important – in the grand scheme of things – than the fact that staying home = helping Hillary get elected.

Hillary has the built-in advantages of an adoring media that protects her at every turn, the support (and $M that go with it) of the teachers’ unions and the AFSCME / NAGE folks who will be the ones actually conducting / tallying the votes in Nov, Hollywood, Academia, illegals,…these are ALL arrayed and ready to help Hillary get elected, so Trump starts with this built-in disadvantage.

And to add to this, so-called “conservatives” – such as the folks here who reserve their deepest scorn, their most bitter invective for Trump – who can’t do the grown-up thing and support the GOP nominee because they are apparently of the mind that this election, in 2016, is a GREAT time to give the GOP a piece of their minds, by God!, about the conservative bona fides of their recent candidates.

I see your point, I really do…but now is not the time to “send a message to the GOP” but instead. a time to send a message to the entire federal leviathan by voting for Trump.

  25. TED says:

An INSULT to Nixon, he didn’t do anything the LEFT doesn’t do EVERY day.

  26. Veritas100 says:

The whole timeline is suspect: Hillary stonewalls for 2 years or so – denial after denial through the entire investigation. Fast forward to a couple weeks back – her husband meets with Loretta Lynch at the airport for 39 minutes. Reacting to the adverse public reaction to her impropriety, Lynch states that she’ll abide by the FBI decision – whatever that is. Hillary is “interviewed” on Saturday, July 2. Just 3 days later Comey lambasts Hillary and admits she is a technological stooge, incompetent and repeatedly misstated the facts BUT he doesn’t recommend Prosecution.

Sorry Comey – doesn’t pass the smell test. He probably was told by Lynch that no matter what he recommended – there would be no prosecution, and if he played ball and Hillary wins the presidency – who knows – he could keep his job or even be promoted to AG when Lynch becomes the next supreme court justice.
