Happy Thanksgiving!

The Devil knows what schools are teaching kids about Thanksgiving these days. El Rushbo tells the true story:

One of the main things the Pilgrims had to be thankful for was the triumph of liberty over collectivism.

Hat tip: Common Cents.

If you want a great well researched book about the Pilgrims and Thanksgiving read “Mayflower” by Nathaniel Philbrick…DEFINITLY NOT the sugar coated story that you were taught in school.

Thanks Musicmaven. Its about time the American People started learning the TRUTH so that we are better armed to fight liberalism…(ie…communism).

Locked and loaded: The Flatbush Shomrim Safety Patrol members show some of the tools they used to cut their way through Hurricane Sandy’s path of destruction, including two chainsaws and a jet ski that the crew kept on standby in case they had to zip up a flooded Oriental Boulevard.

    Talk about being cut off!

The city slapped down a volunteer group’s plan to cut up uprooted trees blocking Brooklyn streets in Hurricane Sandy’s aftermath, claiming that residents shouldn’t become emergency lumberjacks — even if the Parks Department can’t handle the job.

Once Hurricane Sandy left the city, Flatbush Shomrim founder Chaim Deutsch and his team began cutting up and carting off more than 75 uprooted trees blocking roads and preventing first responders and supply trucks from getting around Sheepshead Bay, Manhattan Beach, Marine Park, and Brighton Beach — until the city shut them down.

“We had a little problem with the Parks Department,” said Deutsch, who claimed that a Parks Department official told him to leave all the fallen trees left on city streets alone. “He said we’re not supposed to be doing that, but I said in a crisis, I’ll do whatever I have to.”

City officials told Deutsch that if the fallen tree wasn’t causing an emergency, its date with a mulch pile will have to wait two weeks — something a man with a gassed-up chainsaw at the ready can’t fathom.

“We already did a large part of the Parks Department’s job by cutting down 75 trees,” the safety patrol leader said.

Parks Department officials say that only agency foresters and contractors with special permits can take an axe to a city tree — even in an emergency. Even if a tree falls on private property, the homeowner must hire a contractor who would then have to get the Parks Department’s permission to touch the perennial plant.

“Non-certified foresters who do not have permission from Parks should not go out with chainsaws and remove trees,” said Parks Department spokeswoman Megan Lalor. “It’s dangerous.”

But the city’s redwood-hard policy has left a lot of Southern Brooklyn homeowners with fallen trees in front of their homes barking mad.

“The Parks Department does not do a good job with trees,” said Sheepshead Bay resident Allen Popper. “They do a terrible job. Chaim Deutsch and the Flatbush Shomrim were doing everything Bloomberg’s people should have done.”

Deutsch says he’s put down his chainsaw, but is ready to pick it up again if another Hurricane Sandy-type emergency hits the borough.

“You cannot rely on the city, because the city doesn’t always have the resources,” Deutsch said. “We prepare ourselves, on our own, to help as much as possible.”

Bloomfag terrorizes citizens for clearing hurricane fallen trees:

What more proof is needed that:
    1. Governments simply have been given too much power, and that they no longer report to the people, and
    2. The liberal northeast is lost. Patriots have largely abandoned the place, and those who are left should consider leaving soon. Citizens can’t defend themselves. Citizens can’t rescue themselves. More and more citizens are told how to eat and drink.

What ever happened to the concept of living as a free man in a free country?

Rush is great…and now a voice in the wilderness. The idea that we’ll “educate” people into seeing conservatism for what it is no longer matters. This election sealed our fate. Americans voted for a totalitarian state and they’re going to get it.

God will step in, but we don’t know how or when. There will be a minority of us still willing to live free, but depending on how long the New American Dark Age lasts, this may be an exercise in futility.

Still, someone must keep the flame alive, even if it has to survive many generations before it shines again.

Give thanks to God today, and thanks for the 200+ years of America’s blessings before the lights went out. The world does not yet know what has happened. They will soon.

I am thanking God this year for Rush Limbaugh and Dave Blount – two pillars of strength in a world gone mad. I have known for a long time that this day of wrath would come, but it used to seem so far fetched to me that people would become so blinded and believe all of the lies of the evil ones. I still can’t believe it, but I am so grateful for those who are out there speaking the truth and following God’s commands, so that I can stay focused on the race and the reward!

  9. Bob Roberts says:

Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it’s mistakes.

On Thanksgiving, it is customary that Americans recall to mind the experience of the Pilgrim Fathers This year, it is especially appropriate that we do so–as we pause, in the midst of an economic maelstrom, to count our remaining blessings and to reflect on the consequences of our election of a President and a Congress intent on “spread[ing] the wealth around.”

We have much to learn from the history of the Plymouth Plantation. For, in their first year in the New World, the Pilgrims conducted an experiment in social engineering akin to what is now contemplated; and, after an abortive attempt at cultivating the land in common, their leaders reflected on the results in a manner that Americans today should find instructive.

William Bradford, Governor of the Plymouth Colony, reports that, at that time, he and his advisers considered “how they might raise as much corn as they could, and obtain a better crop than they had done, that they might not still thus languish in misery.” And “after much debate of things,” he then adds, they chose to abandon communal property, deciding that “they should set corn every man for his own particular” and assign “to every family a parcel of land, according to the proportion of their number, for that end.”

The results, he tells us, were gratifying in the extreme, “for it made all hands very industrious” and “much more corn was planted than otherwise would have been.” Even “the women now went willingly into the field, and took their little ones with them to set corn; which before would allege weakness and inability; whom to have compelled would have been thought great tyranny and oppression.”

Moreover, he observes, “the experience that was had in this common course and condition, tried sundry years . . . amongst godly and sober men, may well evince the vanity of that conceit of Plato’s and other ancients applauded by some of later times . . . that the taking away of property and bringing in community into a commonwealth would make them happy and flourishing.” In practice, America’s first socialist experiment “was found to breed much confusion and discontent and retard much employment that would have been to their benefit and comfort.”

In practice, “the young men, that were most able and fit for labor and service, did repine that they should spend their time and strength to work for other men’s wives and children without any recompense. The strong, or man of parts, had no more in division of victuals and clothes than he that was weak and not able to do a quarter the other could; this was thought injustice. The aged and graver men to be ranked and equalized in labors and victuals, clothes etc., with the meaner and younger sort, thought it some indignity and disrespect unto them. And for men’s wives to be commanded to do service for other men, as dressing their meat, washing their clothes, etc., they deemed it a kind of slavery, neither could many husbands well brook it.”

Naturally enough, quarrels ensued. “If it did not cut off those relations that God hath set amongst men,” Bradford notes, “yet it did at least much diminish and take off the mutual respects that should be preserved amongst them. And [it] would have been worse if they had been men of another condition” less given to the fear of God. “Let none object,” he concludes, that “this is men’s corruption, and nothing to the course itself. I answer, seeing all men have this corruption in them, God in His wisdom saw another course fitter for them.”

The moral is perfectly clear. Self-interest cannot be expunged. Where there is private property and its possession and acquisition are protected and treated with respect, self-interest and jealousy can be deployed against laziness and the desire for that which is not one’s own, and there tends to be plenty as a consequence.

But where one takes from those who join talent with industry to provide for those lacking either or both, where the fruits of one man’s labor are appropriated to benefit another who is less productive, self-interest reinforces laziness, jealousy engenders covetousness, and these combine in a bitter stew to produce both conflict and dearth.

We already tried socialism. It lead to misery, conflict and death, as always.

    But enough of that.

    Happy Thanksgiving, all!

Peace, one of two turkeys pardoned by President Obama last year, was euthanized Monday. Pressed on details about Peace’s death, and what was done with the carcass, Rebecca Aloisi, vice president for marketing at the Mount Vernon Estate, deferred. “Honestly, I work in marketing,” she said, defensively. “We have a 500-acre facility.” The facility – historic home of President George Washington – includes a landmark mansion, farm, wharf and the Mount Vernon Inn. Asked if the inn serves turkey, Aloisi hedged. “That’s a good question. I assume so,” she said. The inn, in fact, boasts of “costumed servers” who serve “delicious regional and colonial cuisine” including a “Roast Turkey Dinner” for $17.50, according to the inn’s web site.

A Guadalupe County man arrested for his eighth DWI has been sentenced to life in prison after being pulled over last February with a Blood Alcohol level equivalent to consuming 23.5 beers.

In late February, authorities say Cornelio Garcia-Mata was driving nearly six times the legal alcohol limit, when he was pulled over around 6 p.m. off Interstate 35 in New Braunfels, WOAI-TV reports. Garcia-Mata got his first DWI in 1990. While on probation, he picked up his second. Since he’s a habitual offender he faced 25 years to life in prison for his latest offense.

Looks like the guy who almost killed me and 4 others on a lonely stretch of Texas interstate sometime around then.

He was an illegal alien, no license, no insurance, no registration, getting ready to drive the wrong way on the interstate as he had been doing intermittently before I happened upon him. The trucker coming up behind me told me that my quick thinking and action saved us from a multi-car, multi-fatality pile up.

    A moonbat’s idea of Thanksgiving.

What is this moonbat obsession with all things NAZI?

And, as a bonus, try to guess his race/ethnicity and it’s not what you would expect from the other times I’ve asked this.

Forget all that turkey, stuffing and pumpkin pie, today should be a day of fasting and atonement for American “sin.” That’s according to Robert Jensen, a journalism professor at the University of Texas at Austin. Jensen, known for his hard-left politics, also calls Thanksgiving a “white-supremacist holiday.”

Jensen’s opinion piece “No Thanks for Thanksgiving,” appeared on the far-left, Soros-connected website Alternet on Thanksgiving eve. In it, he wrote how Native Americans suffered because of the “European invasion of the Americas.” He went on to compare the Founding Fathers to Nazi Germany. “How does a country deal with the fact that some of its most revered historical figures had certain moral values and political views virtually identical to Nazis?” he asked.

According to Jensen, Thanksgiving is “at the heart of U.S. myth-building. “But in the United States, this reluctance to acknowledge our original sin — the genocide of indigenous people — is of special importance today,” he explained.

Jensen has a long career in both working journalism and academia, including work as a copy editor at The St. Paul Pioneer Press and the St. Petersburg Times, as well as “volunteer editing and writing for the Texas Triangle, Austin (weekly statewide lesbian/gay paper).”

This wasn’t the first time Jensen has bashed America. He does so on a regular basis. Other Alternet pieces include headlines like “The Painful Collapse of Empire: How the ‘American Dream’ and American Exceptionalism Wreck Havoc on the World” or “What White People Fear.”

  20. Bob Roberts says:

Beyond any reason, but also a sign of just how much of a divider Obama is.

This is not how it’s done and it’s not a joking matter. This guy is better off the force.

The 57-year-old retired earlier this month while facing an internal investigation into his comments to other officers after the election. He told them that if an order came to kill Obama, he “wouldn’t mind being the guy.”

When questioned by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office integrity unit, he said he also didn’t care if a nuclear explosion killed everyone in the Northeastern U.S because they supported Obama. He told the investigators his comments were hyperbole and not actual threats.

With Obama in charge, there is a distinct possibility his second comment could become reality.

  21. Bob Roberts says:

Women who voted for Obama have this to look forward to once he institutes sharia law here.

Denied the right to travel without consent from their male guardians and banned from driving, women in Saudi Arabia are now monitored by an electronic system that tracks any cross-border movements.

Since last week, Saudi women’s male guardians began receiving text messages on their phones informing them when women under their custody leave the country, even if they are travelling together.

  22. Bob Roberts says:

Want to bet they were overwhelmingly moonbats?

We will discuss this ridiculous conclusion shortly:

Sex means more to adults than having kids.

When asked about what makes them happiest, a group of adults participating in a survey ranked sex at the top of the list. Drinking alcohol came in second place.

As for their conclusion, was “having kids” even on the list? Was it even a choice given? They could have just as easily said, “Sex means more to adults than blowing one’s brains out.”

The fact that getting drunk comes in second tells you a lot about the sample of people involved.

  23. Bob Roberts says:

Don’t go here unless you’re stocked up on eyebleach.

Some may have felt Madonna was hot at one time. Now she’s just a sad moonbat example of excess and evil.

She’s trying to milk it for all it’s worth.

She can’t accept it’s not worth much, if anything, these days.

At the end of the piece they present a video of her writhing around on the floor and ask, “Too old to be writhing around on the floor”?

The answer, obviously, I don’t have to tell you.

  24. Bob Roberts says:

Maybe if they’d just given him a cigarette they could have avoided a whole lot of pain.

It was just a nic fit?

Joseph Rose and Cole Kellis were leaving their home in Whitehouse on Friday morning when they noticed a deer in their front yard.

Rose approached the deer and he says the deer seemed friendly. But then Kellis and Rose say the deer then charged them and started to attack.

Rose says he left his driver-side door open and the deer climbed in and took his pack of cigarettes that were sitting in his center console.

The deer starting eating Rose’s smokes, and when Rose tried to get them back, Rose says the deer got more aggressive.

They then had to call Whitehouse police and the Game Warden. When police arrived they had to tase the deer and then Rose says it took more than 5 men to restrain the buck.

    Maybe he was on PCP?

  25. Bob Roberts says:

OH, and RE that last, if you’re waiting for something from FEDEX, don’t wait up (see the image at the last link).

  26. Bob Roberts says:

    More finger pointing from obamunist.

Isn’t it amazing that it’s never the fault of Obama or anyone close to him?

Ambassador Susan Rice has finally explained, in her opinion, why she misled the country about what happened during the September 11 terror attack against Americans in Benghazi, Libya. According to Rice, all the blame should be given to the intelligence community for her misleading comments made five days after the attack, since she was just repeating what they had told her.

Because, “That’s what Barack told me to say” wouldn’t have exactly gone over all that well.

His opponents can now accuse him of dealing with Israel, something no self-respecting Arab is allowed to even consider.

His “grand bargain” was already unraveling as it was being announced as the rockets continued to fly from Gaza.

    Fox news reports:

Hamas political leader, Khalil al-Haya, taunted Israel at a victory rally, saying “you can’t invade us.”

Yeah, keep saying that. Keep believing that.

Though no doubt Obama let them know that between him & Harry Reid, they’d better not.

Ehud Barak, pushing back Thursday against those clamoring for a decisive blow against Hamas, said he was not willing to embark on a military adventure and risk antagonizing the international community.

“Hamas won’t be toppled unless Israel retakes Gaza, but I’m not sure that would be wise,” Barak, one of Israel’s most experienced military strategists, acknowledged on Israel Army Radio.

It should be noted that imported fiseases reduced the Native American population by up to 90%+. The New World was not a virgin land, it was mor of a widowed land.
The Europeans were no more or less at fault for the plagues in the New World than the Asians for the plagues that raveged Europe from the Antonian period until the XIX century.
