Hospital Stops Delivering Babies as ObamaCare Descends

Elections have consequences. Here is an inevitable consequence of electing socialists who won’t repeal ObamaCare before it becomes an entrenched entitlement:

Pregnant women in one southwestern Pennsylvania town will soon need to look elsewhere to deliver their babies, after a local hospital announced it will end the practice in March — blaming ObamaCare in part for the decision.

The Windber Medical Center will stop delivering babies after March 31 because its obstetricians are either leaving or refocusing their practices, and because hospital officials believe they can’t afford it based on projected reimbursements under looming federal health care reforms.

The ObamaCare guillotine is beginning to fall. Not that this is the only way moonbattery is destroying healthcare.

The hospital, about 60 miles southeast of Pittsburgh, is losing two obstetricians and two others are shifting their focus more to gynecology.

OB-GYNs have been dropping the OB largely because of ambulance-chasing vermin like John Edwards, whose never-ending looting spree is enabled by the execrable Democrat Party in exchange for kickbacks from extravagant lawsuits.

The hospital delivered about 200 babies each year since restarting its obstetrics program in 2005.

Officials aren’t sure how many jobs will be lost…

No worries. Those depressed about being thrown out of work by Obama’s power grab qualify for disability.

The closest obstetric facility is 10 miles away.

If 10 miles seems far when you’re having a baby in the backseat of a taxi, just wait until federal overreach decimates our healthcare system to the point that we have to travel to Mexico, the way Canadians came here to escape socialism before ObamaCare.

Fortunately, we don’t need obstetricians anyway when we have lavishly taxpayer-subsidized abortionists.

Right there to pick up the slack.

On a tip from G. Fox.

Face it, if Obama really wanted to protect innocent children and keep them from being brutally murdered by PSYCHOPATHS, he would have signed 23 Executive Orders banning ABORTION and ABORTION CLINICS. Obama is just using the Sandy Hook shootings as a PRETEXT for disarming his POLITICAL ENEMIES.

The future of healthcare is grim. Democrats are slowly reaping what they’ve sewn. Too bad the rest of us will be drug down with them.

“No matter how we reform health care, we will keep this promise: If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period.”

    Promise broken.

Can you name anything he’s said (prominently) that he hasn’t done the opposite? Yeah, he’s telegraphed a thing or two, like putting the coal industry out of business, and energy costs skyrocketing, but those were kind of on the QT.

For those that don’t know Margaret Sanger is the founder of Planned Parenthood and was a guest speaker for the Klu Klux Klan (aka the democratic party)

Yeah, but who’s keeping track? The media..? What media..?

Well it wasn’t all that long ago most babies were delivered by midwifes. My own father was born at home. We as a nation might be forced from a modern first world country to a 2nd or even 3rd world at some point thanks to Barry and his elitist leash holders. But we will survive we as a nation had no modern conveniences like in door plumbing or electricity or refrigeration till the 20th century and even then most of country was without even electricity and in door plumbing till mid 20th century. I would most likely have withdrawals once the internet went down, but like when I came out of my leftist coma 20 years ago. Your head clears from all the noise and you start to see the real world and you adapt and grow stronger.

This is just the start. Our office stopped accepting new Medicare and Medicaid patients because the reimbursement we receive doesn’t cover how much it costs to care for them. On average, we get about 75 cents on the dollar, and that dooesn’t keep the lights on or pay the rent or the insurance or the staff. We also stopped taking patients with certain kinds of insurance because their reimbursements are tied to Medicare.

Hospitals have been doing the same, and they will start dropping more services as reimbursement continues to decrease. The smallest hospital in our litte town already announced it will close its ER to become strictly a surgery hospital and will refer all ER cases over to County, which is 20 miles away.

Wow that free healthcare sure is expensive comrade. What doctors are leaving for greener pastures where they will make more money. That is all the fault of that damn George W. Bush.
