Innocent Marine Vet Rots in Mexican Jail

Marine vet Jon Hammar planned to unwind on a surfing safari to Costa Rica. He barely made it past the Mexican border before corrupt officials threw him into a prison controlled by the vicious Zetas drug cartel, where he has been chained to a bed. If convicted, he faces up to 12 years. His crime:

Hammar took a six-decade-old shotgun into Mexico. The .410 bore Sears & Roebuck shotgun once belonged to his great-grandfather. The firearm had been handed down through the generations, and it had become almost a part of Hammar, suitable for shooting birds and rabbits.

But Mexican prosecutors who looked at the disassembled relic in the 1972 Winnebago motor home dismissed the U.S. registration papers Hammar had filled out. They charged him with a serious crime: possession of a weapon restricted for use to Mexico’s armed forces.

The purpose of the absurd arrest is to shake down his relatives for cash. Officials have already demanded an initial payment of $1,800. In short, an American who honorably defended his country as a Marine in combat has been kidnapped by the Mexican government, a beneficiary of lavish US aid.

There was a time when no Marine was left behind. That was before the Benghazi Fugazi passed as a president. Hammar made it through the worst of Fallujah, but he will be fortunate to survive his Mexican venture, because no help has been forthcoming from the White House, despite multiple petitions.

Too bad we can’t work out an exchange — Hammar for someone actually guilty of smuggling deadly weapons into Mexico:

That’s what you get when you go to Mexico. Plain and simple.

  3. dan says:

well, lacking the ability to go bust him out….I guess it’s time to treat Mexicans with the same measure of reason and compassion.Isn’t this how wars are started ?

  4. Son of Sam says:

Shut down the borders, stop all tourist traffic to all of Mexico and stop importation and exportation of goods to and from Mexico. I give it a week and they will fly him back to the US of A first class.

I suspect there’s some violent recidivist criminal Mexican a-hole rotting in an American jail somewhere who they want out and they needed a hostage.

Of course the Benghazi Fugazi will be glad to “oblige” just as he would have gladly traded the “blind cheeque” terrorist for Ambassador Stevens.. for “humanitarian reasons” of course.. if the local chapter of Al Qaeda had taken him alive instead of getting over-excited and screwing up what was otherwise a perfectly good operation from Hussein’s and Holder’s POV, that is..

Notice how there hasn’t been any more noise from MB morsi about wanting the cheeque since the Benghazi attack..

Time for a prisoner exchanges…we want to offer Holder.

That’s because if the lightworker had his way, YOU TOO would be locked up indefinitely for possession of a disassembled .410 for punishment over the Zetas drug cartel “somehow getting a hold of American guns”

    Todays Question
Is the life of some stary-eyed, mush-headed, bleeding-heart do-gooder, worth the life of one of our brave and dedicated SEALS?

  9. Cameraman says:

I think its time to run a Black Ops on this Jail and get our Marine TFOT …Phuck Holder and Obrownmao!

That might actually be an offer worth considering for them. IF their government weren’t almost as corrupt as our own.

Some 2000 Mexicans are dead due to Fast & Furious..

Come think of it, where are the Moonbats threatening to make “international Law arrests” on holder and the Fugazi?

  11. Dr. 9 says:

Just another sign of Amerika’s weakness. Any nation not able and/or willing to protect it’s own, doesn’t deserve to survive.

  12. Beaver Cleaver says:

Gee I hope our enemies don’t see how weak we have become. The president is a cool rock star though and that is what matters.

  13. Hank says:

Mexico allows the possession of shotguns, no larger than 12 gauge and a barrel no shorter than 26 inches.

Handguns up to .38 special (Magnums, 9mm, .40 and .45 are forbidden) and manual rifles in any non-military caliber (5.56mm NATO, 7.62mm NATO, 7.62 x 39mm).

It’s an “American Idol” Obamanation. All your common moron cares about.

  15. JDavid says:

I hate to pee on the sentiment parade but a vet of foreign wars in places like he went to ought to be extremely well aware of the consequences of EVER carrying ANYTHING that might be even faintly construed as having some possible use as a weapon, especially to a place in which America has committed international crimes against humanity by gov’t authorized gun smuggling. Mexico doesn’t give a rat’s rosy-red ass who he is or where he’s been, and Obama doesn’t either.
I hope the poor fellow gets his tail out of this crack, but there are frequent warnings given to the American tourist public by its gov’t that Mexico is a VERY dangerous place.
I NEVER drive my vehicle in-country, I never carry so much as a jackknife, much less any form of firearm, and I wear revealing(minimal), worn, and inconspicuous clothes and sandals, that I cannot smuggle anything inside, and that show me as a broke local.
I do my business as early in the morning as I can, before the bad people are up and awake, and I get my butt right back out the gates the instant my business is done. Mexico must be considered a terrorist haven, and always treated that way.
Swagger just gets gringos dead in places like Mexico.

He is only a Vet. nothing to see here move along.
Now if he was a worthless low life taker we would
start WW3 to get him back his vote counts.

  17. Buffalobob says:

My sympathy to the Vet and his family. But, However, by the way. Stay the hell out of Mexico, nothing good happens there no mater what the tourist bureau tells you. You cannot take a weapon into Mexico (unless Holder and Bis sis set it up) You cannot take a bullet into Mexico. I don’t care how safe the resort is supposed to be, shit happens in Mexico and it takes a lot of American dollars to attempt to make it right. Check out the murder rate in the northern states of Mexico compared to Afghanistan. That alone should convince you, if you are a rational person to stay the hell out of Mexico.

  18. Gary Fox says:

The Mexicans do this type of thing with impunity, because they know there is a feckless fuckup in the White House that will not stand up to them!!

You could not pay me to go to Mexico!! However I would love to join an armed force sent to rescue this American hero!!
