Lies Your History Teacher Told You

By reelecting Obama, the remnants of the USA rejected freedom in favor of Big Unions and even bigger government. But at least unions and a hypertrophied federal government have made things better for us in the past, by improving the lot of the working man and spending us out of the Great Depression, right? Wrong:

As George Santayana said,

“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”

It is hard to remember the past accurately when we are methodically lied to about it by people who want to relive it. Obamunism is a deliberate reenactment of the Great Depression, which was the Golden Age for the statist bureaucrats of the Democrat Party.

On a tip from Ghost of FA Hayek.

Ah yes those wonderful trade unions who enslaved Europe for centuries and made the New World so attractive to millions of Europeans, despite there existing no welfare state – only brutal wilderness and hardship.

Ever have union labor install let’s say a furnace? Four guys on one crew on the first day, two guys on the second crew for the second day, and finally two more to inspect the other six’s work… When a private plumber does a furnace, two men one day….. And I know exactly what I’m talking about.

The only purpose of goonions is to support the upper echelons at extravagant levels of luxury maintained by the sweat of hard working people in the trenches.

    | And yet the arrogant prick above probably gets all his info from The Onion. Or SNL, not much difference.

I understand that you probably don’t find him very funny, or that his language might not be foul enough for your taste. That’s because Mr. Stossel is what paleontologists call a “journalist”. They’re the people that everyone got news from back when things like “facts” were considered more important than lulz. It’s a strange concept, I know, very antiquated.

Ah, the “Morose Turd” [anagram for our resident metrosexual] returns to spew his deadly venom. Only ths time it’s only candy colored clown barf.

That “noble savage” myth is the most enduring and the most destructive. It seems that you can’t be a liberal without buying into the idea that the American Indian represents all that’s good about humanity while western Europe represents all that’s evil.

In fact, the Indians were the terrorists of the day; for the most part, the Indian wars were waged in response to atrocities Indians regularly practiced against settlers.

  10. Highway Hospital Student says:

The ad hominem comment by Metrosexual more or less secures what everyone has long suspected; namely that liberals have lost the war of ideas.

It’s notable that so few liberal trolls still have the courage to post anything at all on Moonbattery.

At least Lao-Z gave it a baboon’s attempt.

But I’ve noticed that those that do post are only able to hit and run with a relatively lower number of nonsense comments, and with absolutely no capacity for debate.

I would call that a victory.

For some balance, here is moonbat god “Red” Ed Schultz
demanding government action that will in time regulate HIS OWN SPEECH as well

And speaking of unions, this is what they are up to now

To unionize a class of workers, Minnesota’s Labor Relations Act calls for a majority of workers to vote for union representation. In the vote to unionize child care providers, the majority of workers are excluded from voting. Out of 11,000 child care providers, less than 4,300 are eligible to vote. Eligible voters are state-licensed and -subsidized child care providers. To make matters worse Minnesota is a forced-unionism state. Gov. Dayton’s E.O. is unclear if the 6,000-plus child care providers ineligible to vote will be forced to pay their “fair share” dues to the unions. Given Gov. Dayton’s history of union favoritism, there is little doubt compulsory dues will be forced on all child care providers.
