Matthew Dowd: Ultraliberal, Insane, Cognitively Defective, or Something Worse?

In 2004, Matthew Dowd was chief strategist for Bush 43’s reelection campaign. From there he veered leftward. These days he sends out tweets like this:

The moral equivalency so fashionable on the left isn’t mere lunacy or idiocy; it is evil. If there is no difference between a repressive death cult that has inspired 31,546 and counting lethal terror attacks just since September 11, 2001 on one hand and Christianity on the other, then there is no right, there is no wrong, there is no good, there is only evil. The Devil wins.

On a tip from Jester.

Proof that progressives don’t necessarily have to like Muslims to keep them voting Democrat.

In other words, he thinks Jesus is the same as Satan. What a fool.

Was at a cookout over Fourth of July. This liberal jackass there was spouting off about how all religion is evil because it creates violence of one people against another. He had no problem understanding how radical Islam was responsible for a lot of violence all over the world today, but like a typical know-nothing lefty, he asserted that Christianity was just as bad when it came to violence. You know the type. They act so smug and superior because they don’t believe in anything, and think that makes them so intellectually superior to those of us primitives that believe in God.

I couldn’t keep quiet anymore. I asked him if he had an example of Christian violence, and as you might have guessed, this asshat brings up the Crusades.

I decided to expose this guy for the jackass I knew him to be, and asked him “which Crusades?”. He didn’t know what to say. I added “you mean the Crusade by the Muslims who conquered the entire Iberian Peninsula as well as parts of Eastern Europe, and were making inroads into France until stopped by Charles Martel at the Battle of Tours”? He didn’t know what to say. So I said, “Oh….I get it, you mean Christian Europe’s response to all that, by driving them out of Europe and then ultimately taking the battle to the Muslim homelands right”?

    He stupidly replied yes..

I asked him if he had any examples from the last 700 years that would back up the claim that Christians were responsible for as much violence as Muslims, and he couldn’t think of any.
I further explained to him that both Judaism and Christianity had undergone reformations, and as a consequence don’t promote violence towards people of other religions, and that Islam has undergone no such reformations– so to suggest equivalence between these religions was to demonstrate an uncanny ignorance of history.

That pretty much shut him up for the rest of day. He was lucky I was in such a good mood that day, because my first inclination was to grab him, and toss his stupid ass into the pool….. but then, that wouldn’t have been very Christian of me….lol.

Dowd is inhumanly stupid. Should not be allowed to dress himself.

  8. BiffWellington says:

To learn the difference, Dowd should hug an Islamic fundamentalist – preferably one preparing to detonate.

  9. Mr. Freemarket says:

    Here’s the funny thing….

Lefties believe that all the passages in the Old Testament about eliminating certain godless people are taken literally by Christians, while passages in the New Testament about loving your enemies should be ignored (in other words, not taken literally).

At the same time, they believe that all the passages about killing the infidels and the Jews in the Koran are not to be taken literally, while ignoring the fact that the Koran says nothing about loving your enemies or living at peace with them.

    Yep…..could be….
You know the really sad part Jester?
This guy I referred to, is trained in a highly specialized area of science, and is otherwise quite intelligent. It’s especially disappointing when you run into someone like that, that can be so bright about some things, but totally have their heads up their arses with regards to political and social issues.
Unfortunately, the left provides an easy avenue for those who wish to be intellectually lazy about politics, by offering a never ending supply of talking points and bumper sticker slogans, so the lazy can make themselves appear to be informed by simply repeating them.

  11. Jack Bauer says:

One of my favorite scenes in movies……lol.
Rule #1: “Never bring a scimitar to a gun fight”.

  12. Wayne Hoffman says:

I think that anyone who takes their religion to the ultimate expression of its tenets is a radical fundamentalist, which would make Mother Theresa one for Christianity.

  13. Eddie_Valiant says:

Jack, your statement “the left provides an easy avenue…” is well said. Most of those I know that are similar to your acquaintance are great at reciting the talking points but can’t begin to defend those positions. One thing I’ve noticed – in this area, Massachusetts, many of these types work (if they work) in the public sector.

Must be something in the water supply. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  14. wildmanonearth says:

Since matt is bringing up equivalence, can he explain the millions upon millions of dead killed by leftists?

  15. FromNJ says:

Yeah, all those crazy Christians jumping into trucks and mowing down unsuspecting pedestrians in Paris…
Crazy Christians blowing up concert goers in England…

  16. ramrodd says:

christians are followers of Christ and the New Testament..

comparing the Quran and the New Testament is a lie and the God hating left falsely does this..

but Jesus does tell his followers to defend themselves!

The Second Amendment has Biblical Natural Law foundation. Our Lord said in Luke 11:21, โ€œWhen a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace.โ€ In Luke 22:35, 36 He said, โ€œHe that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.โ€ The principle of armed self-defense is redundant throughout the scriptures in both testaments. Genesis 14, Esther 8 and 9, and Revelation 13:10 are good places to start. In fact, Revelation 13:10 is an extended commentary on the words of Jesus to Simon Peter in the Garden of Gethsemane when Christ told Peter to put up (not give up) his sword in Matthew 26:52. No passage of Scripture has been more egregiously misinterpreted (except Romans 13*) than this passage in Matthew.

Except “radical Christians”don’t behead people, ,strap suicide bombs to children , fly airplanes into buildings, throw gay people off of rooftops and stone them to death, drive trucks and cars into crowds of innocent people and attasck them with knives or shoot cartoonists with rifles. “Radical Christians” do none of these things, yet radical muslims do all of these and more. Even the Crusades, usually cited in these moral equivalency fests, occurred only after centuries of muslim warfare and expansion.
