McCain Denounces Using Filibuster to Defend Gun Rights

On Deface the Nation Sunday, nominally Republican Senator John McCain held forth on the topic of using the filibuster to prevent the Senate from ramming through unconstitutional anti-gun legislation:

“I don’t understand it. The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people … quack quack quack … What are we afraid of? … quack quack quack … I do not understand why United States senators want to block debate … quack quack quack ….”

In other words, no support for a filibuster. He wouldn’t even agree not to vote for more gun restrictions.

Next to him, the sinister Chuck Schumer was all smiles, like a lizard that had just crunched down on a tasty moth. Liberal propagandist Bob Schieffer was delighted at the chemistry between the two statists.

Sit McCain next to someone with principles from his own side of the aisle — e.g., Ted Cruz or Rand Paul — and it would not be such a love fest.

No matter how many times Lucy yanks the football away, Charlie Brown will keep trying to kick it. Similarly, no matter how many times McCain stabs us in the back, some will continue to pretend that he isn’t on the liberals’ side.

Another opportunity for McCain to turn left.

AMNESTY-JOHN McRINO, his mini-me jeff The FLAKE and tax-and-spend, OBOZOCARE-supporting gov Brewer are why Arizona has become THE RINO STATE of the nation. ILLEGALS and their equivalent (self-deported rejects from Bankruptifornia moving to AZ) are to blame for the bluing of Arizona – though I don’t dismiss the collusion of mindless, low-information/no-information pathetic excuses for Republicans.

McAmnesty is just a flaming coward passing the buck here.

What “Juan” McCain said: “I don’t understand it. The purpose of the United States senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand”

Here’s a newsflash, Juan: The Senator’s Oath of Office, that you took, says this (partial): “I…do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”

Juan, the Oath you took tells you “where you stand” on gun control. Here’s where you stand: “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.” There will be no “debate” and no “voting” about gun control. The right shall not be infringed, period.

Juan McCain has lost it. He’s been ignoring voter fraud ( for so long that senility has set in. It’s time to get rid of him before he does something stupid….like run for president.

Dont forget McCain was co-author of that CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM and now he is whinning about using a filibuster against a unconstitutional gun law or that illegal UN Gun Ban Treaty perhaps he should consitred retiring

Just looking at that picture is nauseating.

Juan McCain was also the co-author of a 2007 attempt to give amnesty to all 12 Million illegals. He buddied up with Ted Kennedy, wrote a piece of crap legislation, and then spewed out the GOP line: “It’s the best we can do”. ( When The People rose up against it, he accused us of being racists.

So The People took action: they immediately cut off all donations to the RNC; with some people calling the RNC offices and demanding a refund. Needless to say, the RNC, faced with losing their funding, called Juan and made him back down. And ultimately, no amnesty.

That old fart needs to be put out to pasture, and the sooner the better.

McCain has *spent to bankruptcy* whatever moral authority he may have once possessed based on his Viet Nam era service. At this point he has no more claim to our affections than does Randy Cunningham, John Murtha, or hell, even Lee Harvey Oswald. His cooperation with the enemies of the United States over the last 10 or 20 years even calls into question his supposed “resistance” to the NVA. His push for amnesty back in 04/05 is the primary reason I’m no longer a registered R; as well as being the reason that the RNC will never see another dime from me. F’ him and his fellow, US Constitution hating, allies.

Thanks to his North Vietnamese and Soviet captors, all Chuckie and Bob Shitfer have to do is flash Juan McAmensty the “Queen of Diamonds” and he barks like any other Democrap moonbat, a trained puppet for the commies. Perhaps even an unwitting fool:

“Kalugin stated that one of the POWs worked on by the KGB was a “high-ranking naval officer,” who, according to Kalugin, agreed to work with the Soviets upon his repatriation to the United States and has frequently appeared on U.S. television.”

Juan McLoser, the progressive RINO and phony “war hero”, is having a great time with his new BFF Chuckie (lens-life) Schumer. Together, they will destroy the country.

BTW, has anyone ever proved McLoser didn’t give up his colleagues while being held prisoner?

It’s a testament to the genius of the Framers that it has taken these statist oligarchs over 200 years to chip away at the built-in failsafes in our Constitution. Among those failsafes are the adversarial nature of the three branches of government, each of them wielding but a part of the State’s total power. The glacial pace of measures in the Senate, which oligarchs like McCain and Schumer consider an impediment, is another of these failsafes. Gridlock: it’s a feature, not a bug.

Sadly, they have managed to chip away at the system, short circuiting many of the built-in safeties. The final safety to fail was the very adversarial nature of separation of powers. What we have now is collusion among the three branches for their shared goal of aggrandizing the State. This shared goal transcends partisan bickering, because while they might still disagree on policy details here and there, they are in full agreement on the larger goal that the government must grow ever more powerful.

They have dealt a mortal blow to the 1st Republic but, God willing, we can resurrect the ideals in the 2nd Republic.

  17. Jill says:

How dare McCain support actually voting on something, why if they did that, something might happen and the role of gubmint is to prevent that. That’s what we voted them in for – oh wait, ‘voted’, better stop that too, can’t have people voting.

  18. TED says:

Kinda makes you GLAD he diden’t win! Only Palin could have kept him in line.

Yah, Murtha was a war hero too, McCain belongs in the Murtha clan of traitors.
