Most Gun Owners Would Defy Confiscation

Despite the disgrace in the White House, this is still America. In a wide-ranging Fox News poll of 1,000 registered voters, 52% reported having a gun in the home. When asked, “If the government passed a law to take your guns, would you give up your guns or defy the law and keep your guns?” 65% of them said they would defy the law.

True, there are tens of millions of people who have rotted to the point of voting for Obama even after four years of watching his extreme unsuitability for the office on display. But there are also tens of millions who are still Americans, and who won’t go down quietly once awakened.

Complicating matters further for liberal authoritarians, some of those Americans serve in government. Maricopa County, Arizona’s Joe Arpaio has unsurprisingly joined the growing list of sheriffs who have refused in advance to obey unconstitutional orders from the Debt Star to confiscate our guns.

This is not a democracy, but a constitutional republic. America didn’t die in 2008 or even 2012. Whatever obscenity the media dupes fools into voting for, it won’t die so long as the Constitution is upheld.

Do you really want a civil war, liberals?

  2. IslandLifer says:

It’s refreshing to see some REAL Americans understand the oath and have the balls to say they will uphold it and defend the constitution. I can’t say the same for those wet traitorous rats who occupy the NE part of this country.

  3. Lucky13 says:

Ask the past few four star generals that have been relieved of their command. All due to them not swearing an oath to the POTUS! Under his command, to fire on US citizens on US soil, is the barb. Pure unconstitutionality leading the way to your front door.

  4. Lee M. Cardholder says:

Don’t believe some of these sheriffs who say they won’t follow weapon confiscation orders from the politburo in the district of cesspool. It is all show and they are lying.

When God is ready to take me, he will. I fear no man. I will exercise my God-given right to self defense. I will live as a free man. They may try to confiscate whatever they want. It will be met with an appropriate response. There are many more like me. I personally may not make it, but they will never prevail.

That said, the hidden danger is two generations raised to despise the Constitution, to hate guns, to love entitlements, to worship the primitive, to dismiss the Bible and trust Darwin and on and on. That is our greatest threat.

Local Sheriffs here are reporting record permit applications

Pine County Sheriff Robin Cole has drawn a line in the sand over President Obama’s package of gun-control measures to be unveiled Wednesday: If the rules don’t pass Cole’s constitutional muster, he won’t comply.

In a politically charged pre-emptive strike against a set of legislative initiatives and executive orders that have already unleashed heated debate, Cole asserted Tuesday in a letter to his constituents that current state gun laws are sufficient while respecting the right to bear arms “which … I believe is fundamental to our individual freedom.”

Neither the federal government, nor any federal official, can dictate mandates to state and local governments that violate the U.S. Constitution, he wrote, concluding: “I would view any such mandate, regulation or administrative rule as illegal and refuse to carry it out.”

PS: To the leftists at the Star and Sickle
    It’s not “Cole’s constitutional muster”
The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

Cole’s letter could presage a legal battle, said Joe Olson, a law professor at Hamline University School of Law and an authority on gun rights issues. Under a 1997 U.S. Supreme Court ruling stemming from the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act, local sheriffs are not required to act as agents on behalf of the federal government, he said.

Amazingly enough, of the liberal gun owners (Democrat and liberal separate labels), more than half of them would defy a ban or confiscation.

… even in the darkest pits of unreason, logic seems to cut a shaft of light.

I really hope they try to ram-rod this crap through the Congress, because I think that will be distasteful enough even to a good deal of liberals to cause backlash on the Dems.

  10. Eoin says:

    @ IslandLifer:

Hey now, some of us rats in the NE are clinging to floating pieces of debris in the hopes of paddling to more hospitable waters. Cuomo just made nearly every firearm I own a felony if I fail to register it before the close of the registration period. I won’t give them the pleasure (or the money). I, my guns, and my tax contributions are leaving as soon as praticable, and that will be before the close of the registration period.

Stupid NY Dems… for me, this really was the straw that broke the camel’s back, and for every other self-employed NY’er I know, theirs as well. Morons didn’t consider that for those of us who own their own businesses, we are in a unique position to tell NY to piss off. I suspect a great deal of educated professionals who can transfer licenses etc to other states will be doing the same.

That leaves the uneducated, non-industrious mouths left to fight over the scraps, and to prop up an ever-unsustainable taxation/spending model.

Enjoy picking the bones that remain, liberals.

  11. Skyfall says:

Right with you, Eoin. I live in CA, and it’s not any better here. The producers are leaving in droves. Only the movie biz got an “exemption” to help them keep more of their own money…but that’s because they are SPECIAL.

This won’t go on much longer. The progs are going to have to come out totally and do a full-on commie take over, or this whole thing will fall apart on them. They’ve crossed their own rubicon, and they don’t even know it yet.

“Hey, dimwits…you pushed it passed the tipping point! Enjoy the ride!”

  14. IslandLifer says:

Eoin, you know what I meant 😉 I’m happy to see patriots such as yourself make the exodus from the insane asylum to a state that will be happy to have you and not squeeze the lifeblood out of you. On the same token I’m sad that you’ve also been forced to leave your homes on account of the communistic scum. Let them sleep in the bed of fleas they made. Same goes for California. I just hope the liberals don’t try fleeing what THEY have created and try polluting a conservative state. They should be publicly shunned and living in the land of liberals I deliver, am always outnumbered but still deliver. 🙂

  19. 762x51 says:

So there are about 100 million gun owners in America now. If 65% of those would defy the illegal confiscation, that is an army of 65,000,000, ouch. That is larger than all of the worlds military’s, COMBINED.

You 35% who will just bend over and smile for the dictator need to sell the rest of us your firearms now. Why hang on to it and just give it to the tyrant later when you could get cash for it today?

Evil – Many of us HAVE taken the oath, to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and WILL fight when that day comes. The casualties will be massive.

  20. Louie says:

First they came for the gun owners,
and I did not speak out because I was not a gun owner.

    . . . .

    . . . .

    Then they came for me,
and there was no one left to speak for me.

Really, Liberals – – – Where do y’all think this is going, huh?

  21. Son of Taz says:

Maybe some American citizens don’t get it when it comes to gun control, but here’s one that truly does.

Here in the land of 10,000 dead Al Franken voters, sits a large gun owning populous.

  24. ZZMike says:

When do you suppose someone will publish the figures on how many gun-related murders, mass shootings, &c, were committed by people who were NOT psychopaths, sociopaths, or otherwise more than a few cards short of a fulll deck?

  25. Louie says:

A gun is just a tool.

    Like a toilet plunger.

If you should need one, you damn well better have one.

    Otherwise, you’re in deep shit.

  26. Veritas says:

Illegal drugs are nowhere to be found. And the government has stopped 25 million illegal aliens. Yup I am sure they can enforce a gun ban.

  27. born in 76 says:

Remember, Bill Ayres wants 25million dead conservatives. What better way to achieve this then sweeping illegal gun laws that people will disobey? 2 am front door bust-ins followed by a flurry of gun fire. It will be cake especially with a compliant MSM complex that’s on board with the Marxist movement. You’ll be on the next day for 30 seconds labeled every right wing nut term they have slandered the right with and that’s it. On to the next.

It is not a mistake that the first obligation in this oath is to the constitution.

“I (state your full name) do solemnly swear, to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; … ”

Nobody is violating this oath when they refuse to follow an illegal order.

  31. chester arthur says:

Think of what we’ve been told lately. That the NRA and GOA are merely shills for gun manufacturers, without any concern for what happens to real people. Both organizations are,in reality,VOLUNTARY associations of people who band together to protect their rights.Contrast this to obamacare,an involuntary association forced on unwilling citizens by someone who knows nothing about medicine or insurance.Think of feinstein’s proposed gun grab.An involuntary restriction of a fundamental right based on pictures in a firearms catalog, not knowledge. Is it more important to get along with people who truly don’t care about your rights, health, and safety, who force involuntary associations on citizens to meet their whims and feed their undeservedly large egos?Or should citizens be free to associate with those who agree with them, and protect their own lives, property, and sacred honor no matter what someone without knowledge believes?

  32. Nicki Thomas says:

I think it’s true that many police chiefs would refuse an order to confiscate guns, because this would be a suicide mission for their men. Some gun owners would pussy out and give ’em up, but there’s a percentage of hard core gun owners who would really fight to the death, because they know that once the guns are gone they’re gonna kill us anyway.

  33. JDavid says:

Once the choice becomes “obey and eat or disobey and die” the choice for most will be pretty obvious. First those people must be rendered very hungry, and Cloward-Piven is rapidly taking care of that.
Bill Ayers has already foreseen the next stage:

Bill’s buddy is now dictator. Hitler laid out his entire M.O. and end goals way ahead of time, but the Wiemar Republic freely voted him in anyway. History has just come back around…
