Naked Fashion Show

The cutting edge artistic genius of Yves Klein — who passed off blank canvases as paintings — had finally reached the fashion world (NSFW):

Models are used to baring all for their art but one proved more daring than others today when she walked the catwalk completely nude while eight months pregnant.

Glamour model and former Miss Wales Sophia Cahill appeared at Welsh milliner Robyn Coles’ debut show wearing nothing but a series of striking hats.

She took to the catwalk at the White Rabbit Studio in Shoreditch, east London, with four other nude models, including actor and comedian Jeff Leach.

Including a comedian was certainly appropriate; fashion shows ought to do it more often.

What’s next for Ms. Coles?

The designer would not confirm if her future shows would feature fully nude models, merely saying: ‘I’ve got loads of stupid ideas for next time.’

As Western culture degenerates into dadaist farce, stupid ideas are the one thing we never run short of.

Au naturel, plus a goofy hat.

Surprisingly, this is not a new development. Hans Christian Anderson wrote a story about this years ago.

  2. anon says:

Yep. Not even original. This was a joke in the movie ‘Pret a Porter’.

  3. StanInTexas says:

Dave, just a suggestion, but you might want to put a NSFW tag on your first link.

    I’m just saying!

  4. Henry says:

    Stupid. Apt description.

  5. octa bright says:

An idea is not stupid if it does what it is supposed to do. The whole purpose of this was to attract attention to the hat show. Because it obviously succeded on those grounds it is not a stupid idea. Now if you wish to judge the fashion industry as a whole, that is something else again.

  6. Karin says:

Well the hat is quite goofy. The placement of the bow screams “propellor beanie!”
Maybe some would find an 8 months pregnant nude lady attractive, but it’s not my cup of tea.

  7. Dr. 9 says:

Dave, you could’ve at least included a full photo.

  8. John Lewis says:

That’s my kind of fashion show! Bring ’em on!

  9. Buddy Fisher says:

She is modeling Emperor Obama’s clothes.

  10. Screwy Puppy says:

I love these artists. Cole’s “stupid” comment makes it obvious that they are taking advantage of the high ideal liberal mindset of acceptance; this leads to accepting nothing as something. This is a great way of taking money away from liberals.

  11. Val says:

As I said on the Facebook post, it goes right along with the “Fresh Air” picture they sold for 10K!

  12. FrankW says:

Umm I realize this may be a bit contrary, but who cares? If a buncha models wanna get nekkid, fine. As long as my tax dollars are not involved and me or my kids are not forced to attend what does it matter. Private enterprise doing what it feels best achieves the goal of business, maximize shareholder profits. The boss of this said it was about publicity and publicity sells whatever the product is. Her company, her call.

  13. Sinister66 says:

Theis would have been great if the models were halfway attractive.

  14. TrickleUpPolitics says:

At least this model had some flesh on her bones.

  15. Varzil says:

At least she did not use transgender models.
