New Low for PETA

Among the most terrifying beasts are those that live in the sea, as a Longboat Key, Florida resident learned recently:

Charles Wickersham, 21, was bitten by an apparent shark while he was spearfishing several miles off the coast of Anna Maria Island.

Wickersham remains in intensive care after the apparent shark attack.

But moonbats found a silver lining to the horrific attack. PETA was able to exploit it by launching an appallingly tasteless propaganda campaign. This ad will go on benches and billboards near Anna Maria Island:

Bleats campaign director Ashley Byrne:

“We do hope that this painful and frightening experience makes him think about the pain and fear that he’s causing to fish — and other fisherman are causing to fish.”

Yet again the animal exterminators at PETA emphasize that they are not so much pro-animal as anti-human. This places them in the mainstream of modern liberal thought.

PETA are a annoying bunch of idiots who get the usial bunch of hollywood idiots like ALEC BALDWIN and PAMELA ANDERSON to do stupid ads for them and are underhanded enough to put on mindless ads and tastless billboards PETA SUCKS,SHAME ON PETA

  2. StanInTexas says:

    Classless behaviour from PETA?

Nothing new for this bunch of idiots. I guess putting up a billboard about the chicken “holocost” in a Jewish neighborhood wasn’t classy enough for them? (slightly NSFW)

its not a new low, its on par with lots of other things they do….

  4. VaGal says:

But, what about the pain and fear of the baby seals as they’re eaten by the polar bears? And the pain and fear of the other fish as they’re eaten by the sharks (cannibals!!)? How about the pain and fear of the cats and dogs exterminated at PETA shelters every day? These idiots are a blight on humanity.

Feed em all to piranhas, I say

  6. FrankW says:

I will salute PETA with a nice fillet of largemouth I will acquire over the weekend. And if the bass should boycott me there shall be catfish held liable.

  7. StanInTexas says:

It is so hard being politically correct these days.

The MMGW people tell me that cow flatulance is causing global warming, so I eat the cow and the PETA people get mad at me.

What is a Progressive to do these days? Oh, woe is me!!!!

{/sarcasm off}<—Yeah, like I needed to add THIS!

PETA full of pathetic idiots and blabbering numbskulls and PAMELA ANDERSON and ALEC BALDWIN are perfect examples of what i mean

  9. Lao Zedong says:

I’m sure the sharks will gladly ask you before you attack whether you are vegan or not.

  10. Dupree says:

So, according to PETA, if we stop fishing, sharks will stop attacking humans? Has anyone run this by the sharks?

  11. Brian_Boru says:

Dominion is a mighty powerful word, you smelly vegan bitch!

  12. Adam says:

Screw that disgusting, hypocritical band of vermin known as PETA. Their pretentiousness is rivaled only by their classlessness and their hypocrisy.

  13. SNuss says:

BTW, what is “an apparent shark”? I’ve never heard of that species?

  14. Noelegy says:

I was a vegetarian for 10 years, and during this time I used to be a PETA member and donated money to them regularly. Then I realized that they were far more interested in being controversial than they were in actually helping animals, and I stopped donating.

If they spent a fraction of the time, money, and energy that they spend with publicity stunts like this actually helping animals, the outcome would be awesome (in a good way). Instead, all we get from them is this kind of stupidity. Incidentally, PETA doesn’t even believe that humans should keep animals as pets, no matter how well they’re cared for.

  15. Noelegy says:

P.S. What are the chances that at least one of the shark victims was vegetarian? It’s like the bumper sticker I used to have: “Vegetarians taste better.”

  16. Joe says:

All you can eat fish fry tonight at Bert’s Bar in Matlacha, FL. It’s damn good too. I might eat more than I usually do, just because peta is a bunch of dopes.

  17. FrankW says:

Wait fish feel fear? Any fish that has a problem with being on the dinner plate is fully welcomed to file a suit against me. Not his representative, but the actual fish, because I am entitled to meet my accuser. I will get Spongebob to translate for us.

  18. Jodie says:

Anything to show their hatred of Jesus – the fisherman.

Seeing the looks on their faces when Jesus comes in the clouds – PRICELESS!

I thought Osama bin Laden’s leg would’ve been hairier.

“How about the pain and fear of the cats and dogs exterminated at PETA shelters every day? These idiots are a blight on humanity.”

No kidding. PETA has by far the highest euthanasia rate of any animal “rescue” organization: something like 85-90% of the animals placed in their care are killed, often right away when the other party had it in good faith that the organization would do its best to find them good homes.

PETA doesn’t care about animals at all. They have this insane ideological notion that the human and animal world should be totally separate (even though, hypocritically, these progs believe we are nothing more than animals) and they don’t care how many actual animals, including countless beloved pets, need to be exterminated to make that happen.

If the rank-and-file PETA member (moonbatty though they may be) had any idea what they actually stood for, those donations would dry up to a bare trickle in no time.

  22. T says:

PETA? Sounds like a colloquial pronunciation for male genitalia.

  23. comet says:

Vegetarianism: a dietary deficiency linked to a self-righteousness and delusions of saving the world.

  24. Spurwing Plover says:

PETA IS FOR IDIOTS ALONE and ALEC BALDWIN,PAMELA ANDERSON and JAMES CROMWELL are perfect examples of what im squawking about

I wish the boy who was attacked has a speedy recovery and i hope PETA is told to remove their offensive billboard

  26. Be Free says:

Keep talking, PETA. Be loud and proud. Because there are still some people out there who don’t realize just what dangerous, misguided fanatics you folks really are.
