Obamunist Moderator Reduces Debate to Farce

If last night’s debate is remembered for anything, it will be as the final confirmation that left-wing media outlets cannot be trusted to provide unbiased moderators for debates. CNN’s Candy Crowley threw even the pretense of neutrality out the window to bail Obama out of his Benghazi mess. Via NewsBusters, a transcript of the disgraceful scene, starting from just after Obama shocked Romney with the arrogant lie that he characterized the attack on our consulate as a terrorist act from the beginning:

“I think it’s interesting the president just said something, which is that on the day after the attack he went into the Rose Garden and said that this was an act of terror,” Romney said.

“That’s what I said,” Obama replied.

“You said in the Rose Garden the day after the attack, it was an act of terror,” said Romney. “It was not a spontaneous demonstration, is that what you’re saying?”

“Please proceed governor,” said Obama.

“I want to make sure we get that for the record because it took the president 14 days before he called the attack in Benghazi an act of terror,” said Romney.

“Get the transcript,” Obama replied.

For the first time during the debate, Crowley moved to correct one of the candidates.

“He did, in fact, sir. So let me — let me call it an act of terror…”

“Can you say that a little louder, Candy?” Obama asked.

“He — he did call it an act of terror. It did as well take — it did as well take two weeks or so for the whole idea there being a riot out there about this tape to come out. You are correct about that,” Crowley clarified.

In the speech they refer to, Obama clearly blamed the terror attack on “efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others” — i.e., the American YouTube video that he spent the next two weeks stridently and repeatedly accusing of inspiring a fictional mob that sodomized and murdered Ambassador Stevens due to understandably uncontrollable rage. Toward the end, the phrase “acts of terror” did find its way into the speech, but to say he characterized the attack as a terrorist operation is such a gross distortion as to constitute a clear lie.

See for yourself:

Secure in the knowledge that most people watching the debate would not be reading errata afterward, Creepy Crowley later admitted that Romney was “right in the main.” No matter: the damage to him on Obama’s behalf was done. Crowley also gave Obama 9% more time. As pointed out at PJ Tatler, her bias didn’t stop there:

She chose the questions and the questioners. She let Obama’s towering ignorance on gas prices slip by unremarked. She corrected Mitt Romney with incorrect facts, allowing Obama to escape the most dangerous moment of the entire debate. She did what she could to tilt this debate in Obama’s favor without ever acknowledging that she was doing so. She knew what she was doing.

It would be interesting to know how Crowley just happened to have a transcript of Obama’s September 12 Rose Garden speech in front of her with a big red circle around the words “acts of terror” — unless the entire farce was coordinated in advance between her and the Obama Regime.

Did she collude with Obama in advance to shield him on Benghazi?

As long as Romney is going to be double teamed in these debates, let’s send him into the next one with Michael Savage or Rush Limbaugh. Maybe Hannity.

Candy Crowley has ensured her position as White House Press Secretary should Obama win re-election.

Here’s a roundup of some important debate related things, a couple of which I’ve already posted:

    Candy interrupted Romney 28 times.

Playing umpire, trying to throw the game to Obama, Candy throws a false penalty flag…

… then, after the fact, when she thinks nobody is watching, admits that, upon review, the penalty call was incorrect.

The lame-stream media reveals it is still in the tank for Obama, backing him in his politics of greed and envy.

And what roundup would be complete without a review of that fabled call by the Democrats for more civility?

Clearly Democrats realize how badly Obama is losing the debates – so much so they’re calling for immediate and decisive action to do something about it!

Despite numerous media outlets attempting to downplay the issue, Twitter exploded last night following the debate with new threats from Obama supporters to assassinate Mitt Romney if he defeats Obama in the presidential race.

As we reported yesterday, in addition to threats by Obama supporters to riot if Romney wins, innumerable Twitter users are also making direct death threats against Romney.
The primary reason given for Obama supporters wanting to see Romney dead is the fear that he will take away food stamps.
If the tables were turned and conservatives were making death threats against Obama in these numbers, it would be a national news story. Indeed, the mere act of hanging empty chairs from trees as a reference to Clint Eastwood’s RNC speech was hyped by the media as a deadly sign that conservatives were out to lynch black people if Obama won.

However, the major networks have remained completely silent on the disturbing trend of Obama supporters threatening to resort to violence if their candidate fails to secure a second term.

  6. Buffalobob says:

The agreement that the audience would not clap or interrupt with outburst was breached by Mooshell. She flapped her well toned arms in response to Candy covering obama’s lie on the terrorists attack of the US consulate in Libya. They caught her on video, I don’t know if they recorded the barking.

  7. Clingtomyguns says:

The Meathead’s and a cast of Hollywierd harridans are helping perpetuate another Obama lie last night that Crawlee again let her brown god get away with — that Planned Parenthood provides breast cancer screenings. In reality that billion dollar abortion mill industry doesn’t even have mammography machines.

  8. Ghost of FA Hayek says:

But to the libs, Obama told the “alleged” lie,
    Crowley repeats it twice,
    so it becomes truth.
    Case closed
    It’s that simple

  10. Dr. 9 says:

I don’t blame Candy, CNN’s fat pinko Demoncrat, for acting exactly as everyone should have expected her to act. I blame the weak and gutless Republicans for approving her to moderate the debate. Being weak and dumb will not get the job done.

  11. Bad Barry says:

Barry took dangerous assault weapons off the streets by giving them to Mexican drug lords who are now using them to protect the border and it was all done in a deficit neutral fashion in that nothing was accounted for. Let’s see Mittens top that.

  12. jmb says:

Here’s Crowley talking to McCain before she interviewed Axelrod on the same show.

“Friday we got the administration’s sort of definitive statement that this now looks as though it was a pre-planned attack by a terrorist group, and some of whom were at least sympathetic to al Qaeda.
Why do you think and are you bothered that it has taken them this long from September 11th to now to get to this conclusion? ”

The Friday she is talking about was September 28th, the Friday before the show aired on Sunday the 30th. Obama’s Rose Garden statement which Crowley said last night was when Obama claimed to call it “an act of terror” was September 28th* Last I checked the 12th came first.

So which is it Candy? Did it take the administration until Friday to admit it might have been per-planned and “that there was (sic) terrorists involved” or did Obama claim on September 12th in the Rose Garden that it was “an act of terror”? It can’t be both.

  13. Sam Adams says:

“It would be interesting to know how Crowley just happened to have a transcript of Obama’s September 12 Rose Garden speech in front of her with a big red circle around the words “acts of terror” — unless the entire farce was coordinated in advance between her and the Obama Regime.”

As memory serves, Obama pointed to Crowley and said “look at the transcript; look at the transcript.”

And Crowley assured us that neither side had been given the questions in advance. And the economy is recovering. And the fact that someone blew a hole in the wall of the Benghazi compound a few months ago wouldn’t have alerted any sentient being that the consulate needed more security. And state department employees watching the attack over a period of five hours never thought to notify anyone higher up that we should send in the Marines. And I have some lovely seaside property in Nevada available at a reasonable price.

  14. Sam Adams says:

Romney got the job done. He looked in control, knowledgable about the facts, competent, didn’t have to call Obama on all the lies he told. Obama did not win any votes back. The polls will tell the tell; Obama did not stop the movement towards Romney. The man-child brought not a single new idea forward on how the next 4 years would be better or different.

  15. Anon-Y-Mouse says:

    Those lying fucks are through.

They gave it everything they had…and it came up goose-eggs. Nada. In fact, LESS than nada.

Luntz had a group of independents, most of whom voted for Obama last time. All except two switched to Romney on the strength of the debate. That’s HUGE.

Once we’ve mopped the floor with these worthless puss-brains, we’re going to turn our attention to the media.

I hope they’re afraid. They should be.

Savage or Limbaugh yes. I can’t take lightweight Hannuty who insists on addressing Al Sharpton and J Jerckson as “reverend” every chance he gets.

    Makes me wanna PUKE..

How much you wanna bet that behind his back both of them call Hannity “that stupid white motherfucker”.

  17. Ghost of FA Hayek says:

    Dr. 9
I was thinking along the same lines for a while.
But consider that Romney needed these debates more than the Won
And the only moderators the Lightworker would agree to were those who he thought would assuredly spend the entire time on the floor licking his golf shoes.
These “undecideds are a mere myth this time around.
The only undecideds are those O voters who have since strayed from the plantation.
Team O hoped to either win them back or convince them to stay home by painting this caricature of his opponent as a green eyed corporate monster who eats whole victim groups for lunch.
Nobody informed enough to be watching the debates anymore is even remotely fooled by anyone in the media who claims the “unbiased” label.
Those ignorant masses are solidly in the Democrapt camp, and were watching reality TV instead while anxiously awaiting their next welfare disbursement.
The reason O was caught so much off guard the first time around is that in his narcissistic world, Romney was supposed to take up the role he had assigned for him in his head, dutifully accepted and repeated by his subservient minions.
Watch how O regularly reworks Romneys positions on an issue particularly after Romney just finished stating it
In his convoluted mind, you wouldn’t be listening to Romney. He is just wallpaper.

  18. Bob Roberts says:

In the runup to the second presidential debate, CNN’s Candy Crowley declared that she would not just be a “fly on the wall” as she played the tiny role of moderator, that she would step in whenever she chose to say, “Hey, wait a second, what about X, Y, Z?”
And boy did she, cutting off Republican Mitt Romney repeatedly and often throwing the floor to President Obama with an open “let me give the president a chance here.”

More, she alone decided the topics for the debate, picking questions from the 80 so-called “undecided” voters chosen by the Gallup polling organization. Her selections were tailor-made for Mr. Obama — Mitt Romney’s tax plan, women’s rights and contraception, outsourcing, immigration, the Libya debacle (which gave Mr. Obama [the chance] to finally say that the buck stops with him, not, as Hillary Clinton said, with her).

She even chose this question, directed to both men: “I do attribute much of America’s economic and international problems to the failings and missteps of the Bush administration. Since both of you are Republicans, I fear the return to the policies of those years should you win this election. What is the biggest difference between you and George W. Bush, and how do you differentiate yourself from George W. Bush?”

[In other words, still trying to use Bush Derangement Syndrome to throw an election.]

Ms. Crowley, who called Mr. Romney’s selection of Rep. Paul Ryan as running mate a “ticket death wish,” asserted her unilateral power at the outset, telling the audience before the cameras went on that she planned to “give the debate direction and ensure the candidates give answers to the questions.” After both candidates answered Question One, she blurted: “Let me get a more immediate answer” — whatever that means. But when Mr. Romney sought to correct falsehoods told by the president, she cut him off.

At Question Two, Mr. Obama, asked by Mr. Romney how much he had cut federal oil permits, took over the floor — with Ms. Crowley’s silent approval. “Here’s what happened,” he said as he filibustered for a full minute. Mr. Romney sought to get the last word — as the president had the question before — but the moderator shut him down: “It’ doesn’t quite work like that.” When Mr. Romney sought to counter Mr. Obama’s assertion after Question Three, Ms. Crowley again cut him off.

When the immigration question came up, both candidates gave their answers. Then the moderator once again butted in, ordering Mr. Romney to “speak to the idea of self-deportation.” By then, Mr. Romney had had enough, and talked over her demands. “No, let — let — let me go back and speak to the points the president made and — and — and let’s get them correct.” At the next question, the moderator lost all control. “Candy,” Mr. Obama said. “Hold on.” “Mr. President,” the governor said, “I’m still speaking.” They mixed it up for a bit, then Ms. Crowley said: “Sit down, Mr. Romney.”

The most shocking exchange took place on the Benghazi attack that left the U.S. ambassador to Libya and three others dead. Mr. Romney: “You said in the Rose Garden the day after the attack, it was an act of terror? It was not a spontaneous demonstration, is that what you’re saying.”
Mr. Obama made no defense. “Please proceed, governor.”
“I want to make sure,” Mr. Romney said. “Get the transcript,” the president said. Then Ms. Crowley jumped in to do her own fact-check, on the spot. “It — it — it — he did in fact, sir. … He did call it an act of terror.” The truth is, he didn’t. The day after the attack, he said only this: “No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for.” It took another two weeks before the White House would label the attack an act of terror. The Obama people, of course, loved it — having blamed Mr. Obama’s dismal performance in the first debate on poor moderating. “He’s back,” said Team O spokeswoman Jen Psaki, who lauded Ms. Crowley for her fact checking. [Which she herself now admits was wrong.] But then she caught herself and quickly added: “He was never really gone, but he’s back.”

I have said it before so I’ll say it now. Barack Obama is a liar, a cheat and and a thief.

He cannot defend his pathetic, anti-American record with out lying.

He cannot even stay even with Romney in these debates without cheating by getting help from the moderator.

He is stealing and plans to steal every dime he can from everyone he can to fund his criminal agenda.

Even two on one Obama could not fully defeat Romney, what a pathetic scumbag.

Crowley is liberal partisan hack and the poster child for why the libtard media will be a legitimate military target in the coming civil war.

  21. forest says:

Absolutely planned in advance. The only way she noticed that is if it was fed to her by the Regime.

Obama waned to get the Benghazi issue out there in a totally controlled environment.

It’s really small potatoes compared to some of the other crap they have pulled – like intimidating the SCOTUS.

  22. Jimbo says:

Obviously, Creepy Crawly believes herself to be quite cunning. All libs believe themselves “superior”. It’s part of their mental derangement.

  23. Sweep the leg says:

Think about two men having an argument. One says the other said something. The second guy disagrees. How would it sound?

Now picture Romney and Obama last night. The first thing Obama says is “get the transcript!” WTF??

Get the transcript?? Really?? The ONLY way he says that is if he KNEW that COWley was there waiting to catch him. Which she did. It was scripted, and ridiculously so.

This thing was a fucking disgrace. And some will STILL vote for this black piece of shit, in spite of his record and behavior.

  24. scneocon says:

It was astonishing to see a moderator pull out the precise transcript on cue from the President. How anyone could come to the conclusion that this was a fair fight is beyone me.

  25. George Mason says:

I was infuriated by that fat ugly leftist bitch. I knew EARLY on that she was helping Obama. I could FEEL it coming right through the screen. What a despicable lousy dishonest nasty bitch.

  26. Bob Roberts says:

I think my last words on Candy Crowley and her obviously biased debate performance are these:

Had they picked someone else for those reasons alone one hopes they would have avoided the preannounced bias she brought as well.
