GOP Voters Continue to Give Field Subpar Ratings Obama Seen as More Understanding than Romney, Gingrich

…more voters say Barack Obama understand the problems of average Americans than say that about either Mitt Romney or Newt Gingrich. More than half of all registered voters (55%) say Obama understands the problems of average Americans very or fairly well. About four-in-ten (41%) say he understands people’s problems not too well or not at all well.

Only about four-in-ten voters (39%) give Romney high marks for understanding the problems of average Americans; about the same percentage (36%) says Gingrich does very or fairly well in understanding people’s problems.

About half of independent voters (53%) rate Obama positively in understanding the problems of average Americans; only 38% and 37% of independents, respectively, give Romney and Gingrich positive ratings.

Donald Trump Staff in Talks With Financiers, Campaign Managers to Explore Third Party Bid

“I can confirm that over the past two weeks I have spoken with many high-level political operatives, campaign managers, finance directors — some of whom I have spoken to in the past. Most are new people from all over the country,” said Michael Cohen, executive vice president at the Trump Organization and special counsel to the reality-TV star.

“Until the time Mr. Trump decides to either endorse a candidate or run himself, I am exploring on his behalf the possibilities of ensuring Mr. Trump appears on the ballot in all states, and to develop a team of professionals who could ensure a potential victory,” Cohen added.

I’ll see your white knight and raise you a filing deadline. Why It’s Too Late for Entry in the Republican Nomination Race

No matter how you look at it, then, there are or would be enough delegates for a late entrant to possibly get to 1144, or in the more chaotic, yet more likely late entry (if it were to happen), scenario after Tuesday, earn enough support to keep another candidate from getting there, sending the decision to the convention; a brokered, uh, deadlocked convention.

But here’s the thing: Who is that candidate? Let me rephrase that. Who is the candidate who can not only successfully enter the race late, but who can also marshal the organization necessary to cobble together enough delegates to take the nomination or throw enough of a monkeywrench into the process and still maintain support in the party to win the nomination at the convention? Let’s think about this for a moment. There are people in this race now actively seeking the nomination (and who have been running for president for quite some time) who cannot get on the ballots in some states. And we are expecting someone to come in and immediately be able to beat these deadlines, organize write-in efforts and uncommitted slates of delegates to get within shouting distance of 1144 or a lower total held by the frontrunner.

I apologize, folks. But I just don’t see it. There is no silver bullet. There is no white knight.

These are the people who elected Barack Obama. These are the people that don’t understand the problem with the national debt being greater than 100% of GDP. These are the people who believe that unemployment is 8.5% if you just don’t count several million unemployed people.

And these are the people who vote based upon their feelings rather than logic and reason.

    The usual nonsense.

lao, you forget that ANYONE IS BETTER THAN OBAMA. Even Ron Paul, scary as a few of his ideas are.

Even Romney, RINO that he is.

Even Gingritch, with all his baggage.

It is indeed possible that people will be stupid enough to re-elect Obama. I doubt it, but you know, anything is possible.

I think that Sam Adams summed it up pretty good.

Some people vote their emotions. Those people vote for Obama. Other people vote based on truth, facts, logic. Those people will vote for ANYONE BUT OBAMA.

Now if you had a point, make it. Otherwise, the question stands – why do you come here? Don’t you have some underage boys to molest? Or are the local cops so onto you that you’ve had to change your ways for the time being?

When did golf start banning nonwhites and don’t you think someone better tell Tiger Woods, among others?

Your post makes about as much sense as this article, since there are plenty of soccer teams that aren’t all white – maybe they didn’t win, maybe they won’t win for a few years, but they get the chance, like everyone else.

I wonder if the author of the article expects some sort of “affirmative action” for world soccer?

Obama reading ahead on the teleprompter?

Claims 22 million jobs created then corrects self – 3 million jobs over 22 months. Probably inflated figures at that – for instance, he’s counting seasonal and temporary jobs that have gone away.

  11. Right Reason says:

    Bob Roberts says:

“Probably inflated figures at that – for instance, he’s counting seasonal and temporary jobs that have gone away.”

He is also claiming job growth in states that follow economic policies exactly the OPPOSITE of what he proposes. States like Texas (37% of all the private-sector job growth Bammy now claims), Utah, North Dakota, Alaska, South Dakota, and Louisiana have accounted for the vast majority of the private-sector job growth.

You know, states that did NOT vote for Bammy in 2008, will not vote for him in 2012, and follow low-tax, controlled public sector spending policies.

  12. Sam Adams says:

Let’s not forget that the total of jobs Obama claims to have created or saved includes the temporary census jobs, including the practice of hiring a person, training them, employing them for a week, firing them, and then rehiring them again. Using this practice, the counted several jobs created, yet not a single full time position was created in the process.

Bitter cold records broken in Alaska – all time coldest record nearly broken, but Murphy’s Law intervenes

The weather station in Jim River, AK closed in on the all time record coldest temperature of -80°F set in 1971. That’s not only the Alaska all-time record, but the record for the entire United States. Unfortunately, the weather station stopped reporting at -79°F.

A big part of the problem is that Obama and his ilk are OUT OF TOUCH WITH REALITY!

Obama tells a woman that her husband shouldn’t be unemployed from the growth he has seen in the economy. Obama said he finds it “interesting” because he is getting “the word” that someone in her husband’s job field “should be able to find something right away.”

Oakland Mayor Jean Quan said she has had it with a small, violent fringe element within the Occupy Oakland protests and claimed it is using the city as a “playground.” “They’re taking away resources from my city and creating a situation where it’s making it more difficult for me to keep the city safer,” Quan said.

Occupy protest rekindles debate about flag-burning Many in the crowd outside Oakland City Hall shouted “Burn it! Burn it!” as masked protesters readied to set fire to an American flag. That’s when a woman emerged from the scrum, screaming for them to stop, that it would hurt the cause.

But they did it anyway, proving how UNlike the Tea Party they are.

So, it turns out that the cool cat billed as “No Drama Obama” by his sycophants is actually quite the drama queen. While the White House publicly pretends to ignore conservative detractors of his administration, Chief Touchy-Touchy seems to be personally consumed by our critiques.

  20. Bob Roberts says:

    Are Federal Employees Overpaid?

It is interesting that less-educated federal workers are the best paid, relatively speaking. One thing the CBO study did not try to address is how hard government employees work compared to those in the private sector. The study also does not consider job security. There can be no doubt that federal employees enjoy much greater job security than those in the private sector. It is not unreasonable to conclude that federal employment is a very good deal: 16% more compensation, on the average, perhaps for doing less work, and certainly with better job security.

The Occupy movement has generally faded away, succumbing in most cities to cold weather and public indifference. But Oakland is different. The Oakland Occupiers include criminals–not just those who commit sexual assault and defecate on police cars, but serious criminals. The criminal element has given the Oakland branch of the movement staying power.

Yeah, that and the mild winter, so they’re not having to face worse weather, which would surely make them run for cover.

  22. Bob Roberts says:

Someone experienced in analyzing potential investments in innovative industries may be surprised by the lack of hard data on the performance of solar and wind in generating electricity.

If the results are as solid as the promoters claim, than one would expect the promoters would give the hard data on performance. Yet these are being withheld on the claims that such data is proprietary – confidential.

Slowly, information is leaking from nations that have spent heavily on wind and solar, such as Germany. This information should give pause to those touting solar and wind, including politicians. England is pulling back from wind, Germany has announced drastic cut-backs on its subsidies to solar, and Spain has announced the elimination of subsidies for renewable power. These actions are not the result of success.

The leaders of countries that have spent heavily on solar and wind assumed that the erratic nature of these sources, and that the lack of storage, can be compensated by installing the facilities over a broad geographical area. They were wrong. A winter high pressure system can cover a broad area of Europe, rendering wind turbines useless when solar panels can generate little electricity, and none at night. Reports are indicating that at least 80% conventional back-up is needed.

  23. Bob Roberts says:

Oh, from last source I missed this:

A further complication is that fast back-up from conventional sources, such as coal or natural gas, is very demanding on the equipment, inefficient, and polluting – the pollution control devices do not work properly when heat output varies. According to reports, no coal plants have been de-commissioned in northern Europe rendering the claim of lower carbon dioxide emissions questionable.

Those proclaiming the virtues of wind and solar should be compelled to reveal actual output data from these sources, the required back-up, and data on the actual reduction of carbon dioxide and other emissions when alternative sources are used.

    Another disgusting hate crime:

It seems that three white youths surrounded a cab with a black passenger stopped at a traffic light in Philadelphia. “About 8:25 p.m., a cab was stopped at a red light at 15th and Chestnut streets when two 17-year-old boys and a 15-year-old boy approached and started calling the male passenger in the back seat racially derogatory names, police said.” They then pulled the passenger out and beat him. The cab driver, also black got out to help and they beat him too.

But here is the money quote… “Police did not immediately know whether the teens would or could face hate-crime charges.“. Why no immediate charges of this being a HATE CRIME? Because I changed the races. The thugs were black and the passenger and cabbie were white.

    Global Warming Cooled–Again!

It’s been going on for years now, too many years, the greatest scam since Eve convinced Adam that apples were tasty and thus condemned mankind to lives of pain and suffering, and to mortality.

The saddest irony is that the global warming charade has been perpetrated by the most influential international body on Earth and perpetuated by the most powerful nation in the world. And, for very explicable geopolitical reasons, the U.N. and the U.S. consistently get away with it.

There was no censure after warming-scammers were outed as United Nations’ shills in 2009. There was no position re-assessment following a petition signed by 31,487 global warming-refuting scientists. There was no condemnation of character assassination of highly reputable climatologists who disagreed with the conventional, politically correct climate wisdom.

    (See “Global Climate Frauds,”

Now the massive warming sham has been de-bunked once again, which is not to suggest the new revelations will make a difference any more than previous evidence and multiple scandals changed official mindsets.

When there are literally trillions of dollars at stake, reputations to defend, sinecures and individual wallets to be protected, facts and truth take back seats to propaganda.

The fact that cyclical global warming ended in 1997 and the truth that allegations of man-made global warming are a travesty were revealed last week by the British. . .

The inevitable result of socialist Democrats in power. As California goes, so goes the nation if we don’t send them packing.

California will run out of cash by early March if the state does not take swift action to find $3.3 billion through payment delays and borrowing, according to a letter state Controller John Chiang sent to state lawmakers today.

The announcement is surprising since lawmakers previously believed the state had enough cash to last through the fiscal year that ends in June.

Wait a minute – what about NOT SPENDING SO MUCH? Living within one’s means, like everyone else must do?

Borrowing is a trap – the more you borrow, the less you have to spend on what you need and the more you have to spend paying back the loans.
