Michael Flynn Resigns as National Security Advisor

Flynn was unable to shake growing calls for his resignation, following reports that he had misled Vice President Mike Pence on discussions he had with a Russian official before Trump took office.

Flynn had originally told Pence that he did not discuss the issue of sanctions with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak in a series of phone calls the month before President Trump was sworn in.

Pence then told CBS in January that Flynn had never spoken about the sanctions during his calls to Russia.

However, after anonymous U.S. officials leaked a transcript of a call between Flynn and Kislyak showing that the topic was discussed, Flynn said the topic may have come up, but he had forgotten.

In his letter of resignation, Flynn said his omission was not intentional and was due to the “fast pace of events.”

“In the course of my duties as the incoming National Security Advisor, I held numerous phone calls with foreign counterparts, ministers, and ambassadors. These calls were to facilitate a smooth transition and begin to build the necessary relationships between the President, his advisors and foreign leaders. Such calls are standard practice in any transition of this magnitude,” he said.

“Unfortunately, because of the fast pace of events, I inadvertently briefed the Vice President Elect and others with incomplete information regarding my phone calls with the Russian Ambassador. I have sincerely apologized to the President and the Vice President, and they have accepted my apology,” he said.

I smell a couple rats sniffing around here.

There are many valid reasons criticism of Trump has lessened, i.e. since he stopped making quite so many foolish statements of the type people always make to get elected, there’s one. Since once the election is over it’s best to rally behind the president (as long as he or maybe someday she or, perish the thought, IT, isn’t planning to destroy America – the most effective way to CHANGE is a complete scrape to bare earth and start over) and save the criticism for the things that really need it – so far Trump has been, for the most part, keeping his campaign promises and, I would say, doing a reasonably good job… yeah, I can nit pick and find plenty to whine about – the liberals (even those posing as conservatives, apparently) are putting quite an effort into doing so and thus having some small, scattered success.

    But I go with this:

“I am also extremely honored to have served President Trump, who in just three weeks, has reoriented American foreign policy in fundamental ways to restore America’s leadership position in the world,” he said.

Well said Michael Flynn, well said. Fell on his sword because of a liberal moonbat “gotcha”. At this rate the Trump administration will be hamstrung in no time due to friendly fire casualties.

    What a classy exit.

You know, I’ve noticed a pattern of behavior like this:

A person gets abused, particularly when it happens during their formative years.

As crazy as it sounds, they wind up equating abuse with “love” and they’re so used to it that they become uncomfortable and they start getting that, “X must not love me because X doesn’t abuse me like others who loved me did.” Sometimes when you crave attention more than anything else you settle for negative attention, if that’s all you can get.

So the bottom line? Did this woman have any choice or was it “Move in with these abusive idiots or wind up homeless on the street, destitute”? Or did she SEEK TO RECREATE THAT WHICH SHE HAD SUCCESSFULLY ESCAPED? At the very least, why did she stick around when things became crystal clear?

See, that dog about not having any other choice but moving in with these real losers don’t hunt, since this is the U.K. and their social safety nets are so good that there’s no explanation why this even COULD happen, let alone did.

A Missouri Ku Klux Klan leader might have been shot in his sleep because he had told his wife he wanted a divorce, St. Francois County Prosecutor Jarrod Mahurin said Monday after filing murder charges.

Malissa Ann Ancona, 44, of Leadwood, Mo., and her son, Paul Edward Jinkerson Jr., 24, of Belgrade, Mo., were charged with first-degree murder, armed criminal action, tampering with physical evidence and abandonment of a corpse.

Jinkerson shot his sleeping stepfather in the bedroom of the victim’s home in Leadwood, sheriff’s Detective Matt Wampler wrote in an affidavit accompanying the charges. Ancona’s body was taken in Jinkerson’s vehicle to an area outside Belgrade, where it was dumped near the Big River, Wampler wrote.

The inevitable backlash against Trump is coming and it will be devastating. The more you defend him the worse it will be.

  31. Mr. Freemarket says:

It depends upon performance. Trump may turn out to produce positive results for the US, or he may produce a liberal backlash. It is far from inevitable. I posted my opposition/concerns about him for months. Now that he is president, I hope my concerns turn out to be unfounded, and hope for his success. And I will continue to advocate for moving in a conservative/constitutional direction.

He has plenty of critics at this point. There is no need to add to the feelings of discontent of liberals. I prefer to base my criticism upon facts and performance, rather than feelings. You, of course, are free to choose another path.

  33. Torcer says:

From a Leftist site coaching their fellow ‘progressives’ on how to sell their vile ideology:

    How to Talk About Ourselves
From blue states, we often hear the question, “Is it better to call yourself a liberal or a progressive?” From red states we’re asked, “Is it bad politics to call yourself a progressive when the jurisdiction seems conservative?” The answer to both is—say progressive.

A poll by the Pew Research Center compared common ideological terms. It demonstrates that progressive is the most positive political label in America. Conservative is the second most popular political brand. Liberal is substantially less popular, probably because Americans think that a liberal favors the poor over the middle class.

In recent years, a number of political organizations have embraced the term progressive. In addition to Progressive Majority (our sister group), there’s Progressive Democrats of America, Progressive States Network and Progressive Change Campaign Committee. The slogan of the Center for American Progress is “Progressive Ideas for a Strong, Just and Free America.” And of course, there is no Liberal Caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives—it’s called the Progressive Caucus.

A few years ago, Lake Research Partners looked more deeply into voters’ feelings about the term progressive. They found that Democrats, Republicans and persuadable voters all like a progressive candidate better than a liberal one. The big advantage in the progressive label comes not so much from the Democratic base, but from conservatives and persuadable voters. In a race where both candidates are otherwise unknown, the progressive begins with an edge over the conservative, while in a similar race the conservative begins with an advantage over the liberal.

Even Republican pollster Frank Luntz has said to his opponents:

Don’t call yourself a ‘liberal.’ Call yourself a ‘progressive.’ It’s a smart move. In polling we did following the 2004 election, a generic Republican beat a generic liberal by fifteen points. But a generic progressive beat a generic Republican by two points. Same ideology. Different label. Different result.

And yet, progressive is not yet the ideal political label because most voters don’t really know what it means. Saying progressive doesn’t win the battle, but it makes voters substantially more willing to listen as you explain what you propose to do.

All of this makes sense. Progressive sounds positive because it comes from the word progress. It gives the impression that progressives want to move forward, promote innovation and focus on the future—all popular ideas. Also, when progressive is compared side-by-side with conservative, we have an advantage because it sounds like pro versus con. On the other hand, the term liberal no longer benefits from the fact that it derives from the same Latin root as liberty and previously referred to laissez-faire policies. These days, nobody hears liberal and thinks of liberty—the word has lost its emotional center.

    Don’t say . . . Liberal
    Say . . . Progressive
    Why . . .
Liberal is polarizing. Too many negative stereotypes are connected to the term. If we call ourselves progressive, persuadable voters are more likely to keep an open mind and listen to what we say. Besides, we should be happy to be asked the question, “What is a progressive, anyway?” That gives us the chance to talk about our progressive values: freedom, opportunity and security for all.

FIrst, Sanders and Warren will only be viable candidates to lunatic liberals and people who do a really shitty job of posing as conservatives that are not. Second, the only reason Trump was a viable candidate was 8 years of Obama. Third, despite his missteps, if Trump does half of what he promised, with no major missteps, there will be no viable Presidential candidates BUT TRUMP in 2020.

It would be easy to dismiss this as some fringe group trying to make California into its own country, but former intelligence officials tell the ABC7 News I-Team the ballot initiative leader’s ties to Russia raise serious questions.

Louis Marinelli has received support in Russia from a far-right nationalist group that wants to break up the United States. Former intelligence officials say that association raises serious questions about his intent.

“You don’t need this to be involved in California’s campaign for independence,” Marinelli said holding up an American flag.

He’s the leader of the Yes California campaign, also dubbed Calexit. Marinelli is an American who lives in Russia, but his movement is getting a lot of attention stateside.

A recent Reuters poll found one in three Californians support the idea of withdrawing from the United States.

In January, Marinelli’s group started collecting signatures for a ballot initiative that would amend the state constitution.

When asked by the I-Team if he was a U.S. citizen, Marinelli replied,”Yes.”

We recently spoke with him from his home in Yekaterinburg. “I’m in Russia for a number of reasons,” said Marinelli. “I have personal reasons. I want to be here and I have political goals to achieve while I’m here, one of which is to build a bridge between California and Russia.”

He says his personal reasons center on his marriage. “My wife is a foreign national from Russia,” he said. “As you can imagine, we’ve had difficulty and an expensive and difficult time navigating the immigration system.”

Marinelli says California’s approach to immigration and political ideology no longer mirror the rest of the country and for that reason it should be its own country.

The ballog measure would change California’s constitution and allow it to begin the process for leaving the U.S. It would force a special election asking Californians if they want to be independent.

If yes, then congress would have to agree and so would two-thirds of the state legislatures.

In other words, NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN.

US wholesale inflation continued its upward trend in January, recording its largest monthly gain in more than four years, according to data released Tuesday by the Labor Department.

The Producer Price Index, which measures prices from the seller’s perspective, rose 0.6 percent in seasonally adjusted figures, which was the largest such gain since September 2012 and well above an analyst consensus forecast of 0.3 percent.

Excluding food and energy, the index saw a monthly gain of 0.4 percent.

Year over year, however, the figure was unchanged at 1.6 percent, unadjusted.

“In short, fairly strong and not just because of energy,” Jim O’Sullivan, chief US economist at High Frequency Economics, wrote in a client note.

“The core measures continue to show some acceleration, even if the latest data were exaggerated a bit by volatile trade margins.”

Then he decided to roll back a bit:

“My intent was to congratulate Adele on her amazing night at the Grammies [sic]. My comment about Beyoncé was regretfully taken out of context. I have the utmost respect for her as an artist and a person. She deserves all the accolades that come her way. I wish Beyoncé and her family all the best.”

Obama Released A Flood of Illegal Alien Kids in His Final Month

According to recently published data from the Office of Refugee Resettlement, it turns out the Obama administration released another 7,686 illegal alien kids into the United States during the month of December, Obama’s final full month as president.

That’s about 248 kids released per day.

Ever the lover of all things amnesty, Obama had a strong penchant for allowing minors – or, at least, those claiming to be minors – to come into the United States unlawfully only to be sent off to live with sponsors, usually relatives who are also living here illegally. But it appears that in the mad dash to enact sweeping reforms before exiting stage left, the Obama administration released even more kids in December than in previous months.

For example, the nearly 7,700 unaccompanied alien children processed and released by the Office of Refugee Resettlement in December is about a thousand more than the 6,623 kids who were released the month before.

That’s also about 1,600 more kids than the 6,051 the Obama administration shipped off to sponsors in October.

Broken down further, an ORR analysis shows that the vast majority of these children claim to be between the ages of 15 and 17. Only about three to four percent of them are deported each year, and about 40 percent of them don’t even show up to court for their final hearing.

For years, the Obama administration followed up this lack of interior enforcement by releasing several thousand more unaccompanied children into the United States each month. A total of 20,360 illegal alien children were released into American communities between October and December of last year alone, with January’s numbers yet to be published.

In just the first three months of FY2017, the number of kids who’ve been allowed to stay in the United States after crossing the border illegally already totals about 40 percent of the number of kids that were released in all of FY2016 (about 52,000 total).

According to ORR data, the Obama administration released a total of 153,862 unaccompanied alien children into U.S. communities between October of 2013 and December of 2016.

During a press briefing held by House Democrats regarding the resignation of National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi cited a tweet from a phony Michael Flynn Twitter account that claimed Flynn viewed himself as the “sole scapegoat” of the controversy surrounding his resignation.

It’s not surprising that Pelosi viewed the tweet in question as factual as both The New York Times and Newsmax had reported on it as such earlier in the day.

A new class of crime: The “WHOLLY JUSTIFIED” Felony!

PRESIDENT TRUMP’S NATIONAL security adviser, Gen. Michael Flynn, was forced to resign on Monday night as a result of getting caught lying about whether he discussed sanctions in a December telephone call with a Russian diplomat. The only reason the public learned about Flynn’s lie is because someone inside the U.S. government violated the criminal law by leaking the contents of Flynn’s intercepted communications.

In the spectrum of crimes involving the leaking of classified information, publicly revealing the contents of SIGINT — signals intelligence — is one of the most serious felonies. Journalists (and all other nongovernmental citizens) can be prosecuted under federal law for disclosing classified information only under the narrowest circumstances; reflecting how serious SIGINT is considered to be, one of those circumstances includes leaking the contents of intercepted communications, as defined this way by 18 § 798 of the U.S. Code:

Whoever knowingly and willfully communicates … or otherwise makes available to an unauthorized person, or publishes … any classified information … obtained by the processes of communication intelligence from the communications of any foreign government … shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both.

So I’m thinking that liberal criminals will be pleading “Yeah, it was wrong, but it was JUSTIFIED man!” for all manner of their crimes.

  48. Bodhisattva says:

U.S. authorities have arrested an immigrant from Mexico who was brought to the United States illegally as a child and later given a work permit during the Obama administration in what could be the first detention of its kind under President Donald Trump.

Daniel Ramirez Medina, a 23-year-old with no criminal record, was taken into custody last week at his father’s home in Seattle by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers. The officers arrived at the home to arrest the man’s father, though court documents did no make clear the reason the father was taken into custody.

Ramirez, now in custody in Tacoma, Washington, was granted temporary permission to live and work legally in the United States under a program called the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, established in 2012 by Democratic President Obama, according to a court filing.

The program protects from deportation 750,000 people who were brought to the United States illegally as children, sometimes called the “dreamers,” and gives them the temporary right to work legally in the United States.

Trump, a Republican who took office on Jan. 20, has promised a crackdown on the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants in the United States, most of whom come from Mexico and other Latin American countries. A move against DACA recipients like Ramirez would represent a significant broadening of immigration enforcement under Trump.

Yeah and I was also wondering how you came upon the handle “ICEvictim” – I might style myself similarly, or perhaps would have been so styled by others, had I not managed to avoid it by – long story short – being an attentive driver and NOT T-boning the drunk, unlicensed, uninsured illegal immigrant driving an unregistered, uninsured vehicle as he tried to make another U-turn and drive the wrong way on the freeway again, which almost resulted in 5 deaths, including mine, had I not avoided it. It was not his first offense and ICE did not send him packing – nor did they this time. He spent a while in jail then was released with all charges dropped – I have to wonder if he managed to kill anyone since.

  53. ICEvictim says:

in my case ICE is Immigration and Customs Enforcement. In Minnecrapolis and Detroitistan they don’t have enough to do deporting thousands of illegals so they stay at the airport near the coffee shop and stop DEPARTING passengers and make you empty your pockets and search through all your hand carry items looking for “millions” of dollars of undeclared money. Of course they molest senior citizens and handicapped who everyone knows are smugglers of drug money, drug baron bearer bonds, etc. They do this in plain view of the other 300 boarding passengers. There you are being treated like a common criminal with all your cash laying on a table at the entrance to the jetway for all to see. I’ve never been so humiliated in my entire life. Heck we’re so clean TSA gives us ‘pre-check’ status without even asking for it. Not good enough for the jack booted thugs of ICE though.

  54. Bodhisattva says:

Wait a minute… WTF is ICE doing in Minnecrapolis? And Detroitistan? Looking for Canadian terrorists trying to slip in?

And even if so, why hassle DEPARTING passengers?

As for the “TSA ‘pre-check’ status”, yeah, they did that to me… I get to the head of the line and they just say “oh, you can go, you have pre-check status”. Didn’t know it, never asked for it. But it was pretty cool, people all looking at me like I’m some sort of agent or Seal Team 6 member (they’re here in San Diego) or something.

Then I was boarding in Miami and I forgot to drain the water out of my camelback…
