    Off The Wall

Hey Mike – Are you shocked and outraged by the sudden disappearance of the work boot, the thimble, and the wheelbarrow from Monopoly? I sure as hell am.

    John Pribe

    Hi John

These days, I try to limit my outrage to onerous parking tickets, ($120! For blocking my own driveway?!) and programs I DVR that run beyond their allotted time. (Come on AMC, you can do better.) But I must confess, I was deeply dismayed to read about the sudden banishment of honest work from the Monopoly board. And I was doubly dismayed by their duly elected replacements – a rubber ducky, a penguin, and a dinosaur. That’s right – we didn’t just eliminate three iconic tokens of work – we supplanted them with a baby’s toy, an over-dressed bird, and a dead lizard.

It began in 2013, when the noble iron was replaced by a cat. (A cat! See? This is what happens when people are allowed to vote on the Internet!) In the wake of this travesty, I wrote that the iron was “a truly transformative invention that allowed men and women of all classes to walk around without looking like a piece of used Kleenex.” I also said, with all due respect to felines, that it was “an ironic decision, given the fact that cats view humans with the same contempt that humans view housework.” Anyway, the Iron/Cat debacle was four years ago, but clearly, a mere harbinger of things to come. Because this week, we have lost three more symbols that helped make America great, and their loss is no small thing.

To be clear, I’m fine if Hasbro wants to swap out their classic tokens for rainbows and emoji’s and golden hashtags or whatever else suits them – it’s their sandbox, and every business should be free to roll out the next can of New Coke. (Now there’s a token!) But this recent change is not a reflection of what the company wants – this is a reflection of what real people actually voted for. And the people have spoken. The wheelbarrow is out. The rubber ducky is in. And the real question, John, is why are you shocked? Why is anyone?

As of today, we have 5.5 million jobs that companies can’t seem to fill. Why? Because many of those opportunities look like work. Many require the willingness to push a wheelbarrow, or don some steel-toed footwear. I don’t know about the thimble, per se, but I do believe that if society valued the people who make our clothes, the humble thimble would still be passing Go, and still collecting $200. Likewise the wheelbarrow, the iron, and the work boot. But alas – these tokens no longer represent the kind of opportunities that people desire.

Again – I hate to sound like a scold. Like most Americans, I don’t always iron my own clothes, sew my own buttons, or build and haul my own stuff. I couldn’t build a house if my life depended on it. But it’s madness to ignore the people who do, or the tools that allow them to make civilized life possible for the rest of us. Seriously – if Monopoly had debuted with a welding torch or a plunger, do you suppose those tokens would still be there today? Hell, no! They would have been voted off the island long ago, replaced no doubt by a snowflake and a participation trophy.

Of course, I could be reaching a bit. Sometimes, a thimble is just a thimble. I can’t prove the banishment of the wheelbarrow is linked to the shortage of construction workers, anymore than I can prove the sudden popularity of the rubber ducky has anything to do with the advent of safe spaces on college campuses. It’s just a theory. But if you want me to say something I can prove conclusively, how about this: mikeroweWORKS is offering another batch of work ethic scholarships, starting today.

Every year, my foundation helps people get the training they need to pursue jobs that still require tools like wheelbarrows, plungers, steel-toed boots, jack-hammers, back-hoes, band saws, drill presses, and all sorts of other implements no longer suitable for a board game that – again with the irony – relies upon the construction of houses and hotels! This year, we’ve got about $500,000 up for grabs. So – whether you live on Boardwalk or Baltic – if you’d like learn a skill that’s actually in demand, then please consider yourself officially invited to apply for a work-ethic scholarship today.

In the meantime, remember – there is no such thing as “Free Parking,” and getting out jail is never “free,” (even if you have the magic card.) As for Community Chest, that’s just an old trunk full of bad news…

What the uninformed have been mislabeling for years as RINO’s are in fact Progressives, just like their Democrat counterparts. The difference is the Democrat Progressives are honest enough to tell you outright what they are. Not so with the 5th column Retadlican Progressives. They ad a special flavor of deceit to their anti-Americanism.

There is no amount of suffering sufficient to punish the imbeciles who continuously re-elect this scumbag to office.

What do you say to the democrats and green party (they got 4 ,000,000 more votes then conservatives got in 2016) and look at the picture and say why hasn’t the government shot wealthy figure yet? He is still standing! Most here will say f*ck you or worse ;but the clinton corporate democrats have been discredited and democrat voters will be voting left not conservative.

But now something has caught my eye which is truly alarming.

If it isn’t bad enough that AGW believer First Daughter Ivanka is getting her own office in the West Wing, which holds the constant threat of moving the President to the left, she is bringin with her CLINTONISTA staffer Jamie Gorelick as her attorney.

For those who don’t remember, it was Jamie Gorelick who impeded our security agencies from doing their anti-terror work under Bill Clinton, which led directly to 9/11 ! ! !

Letting Jamie Gorelick move into the West Wing is NOT draining the swamp !

$20 trillion debt deserves as much attention as Dow hitting 20,000

The media and Wall Street got all excited when the Dow Jones industrial average hit 20,000 earlier this year — and justifiably so.

But why not give the same sort of attention to the US federal debt, which will slip past $20 trillion later this year or in early 2018.

The symmetry of these two numbers is just too precious to ignore.

As of Monday afternoon, the US debt, according to, stood at $19.849 trillion — and was rising at the rate of $13,404,542 an hour.

    That’s $321,709,008 million a day.

At this pace, the first digit on the tote board will flip in 469 days — on July 2, 2018.

But don’t trust me when it comes to predicting the exact circumstances of a future event — my bracket had Duke winning the NCAA tournament.

The Democratic Party has a leadership vacuum at the top, with many registered voters eager to see someone who is not currently on the scene become the party’s standard-bearer in 2020, according to a new Harvard-Harris Poll survey provided exclusively to The Hill.

When registered voters were asked whom they view as the leader of the Democratic Party, 40 percent said it has no leader.

  11. Bodhisattva says:

    Democrats are still lying:

At times on Monday, it was difficult to remember that Gorsuch was the focus of the hearing. Democrats frequently sought to remind the public that Republicans orchestrated a strategy to keep Obama’s nominee from ever receiving a hearing, thus keeping the seat open until a new president was inaugurated.

Patrick Leahy, D-Vermont, called it an “extraordinary blockade” that was “totally unprecedented in our country’s whole history.”

    That’s not true.

Louis Brandeis was held up, though he did eventually get confirmed.

Abe Fortas was prevented from becoming Chief Justice for much the same reason – Johnson was on the way out, that honor was held for the incoming President.

That’s just two examples. The U.S. Supreme Court has gotten through empty seats before and they got through it this time. Confirm Gorsuch and the issue will be resolved.

This is just a taste… read the whole thing:

In one of the most ruthless opinions issued of fellow panel judges, five judges from across the political spectrum in the Ninth Circuit went out of their way to issue an opinion about a dismissed appeal, to remind everybody just how embarrassingly bad the prior Ninth Circuit stay panel decision was on Trump’s travel ban. The five judges included the famed, and most respected intellectual amongst the Ninth Circuit, Alex Kozinski. The others included Jay Bybee, Consuelo Callahan, Carlos Bea and Sandra Ikuta. Nobody other than the original panel came to the defense of the original panel decision, a less than promising start for future approvals of district court interference in Presidential immigration policy.

Jennifer Cramblett, like many lesbians, didn’t want a man in her life but still wanted to have a child. So the Uniontown, Ohio, woman went to Midwest Sperm Bank in Illinois.

But the sperm bank made a glaring error that only came to light 9 months later when she gave birth to a beautiful, mixed-race girl. So Cramblett sued the sperm bank, but her case was thrown out of court.

It was Cramblett’s dream to raise a Caucasian child that looked like her and her partner, complete with blonde hair and blue eyes. Although they didn’t need a man to realize this goal, biology dictates that they needed a man’s contribution to the reproductive process.

Judge Robert Sutter, however, said that Cramblett could not claim wrongful birth because Peyton was born healthy.

Cramblett has already proven that she isn’t much of a lesbian. Members of the LGBTQ community are continually preaching to others about tolerance and acceptance. But Cramblett can’t even accept her own child.

In addition, she will stigmatize Peyton, who will eventually learn that she wasn’t wanted and labeled a “wrongful birth” by her mother.

Peyton’s birth shouldn’t be an issue, let alone result in a lawsuit. But Cramblett is an intolerant hypocrite. This doesn’t bode well for the quality of her parenting skills.

It was never Russia – it was Democrats who were LIVID that the party rigged their primary for Hillary and against Bernie “B.S.” Sanders.

The liberal media have been playing up a report by the Central Intelligence Agency that hackers aligned with the Russian government had allegedly provided Julian Assange with the hacked emails his website WikiLeaks published during the fall, but a former British ambassador to Uzbekistan is going public again to blow the story out of the water.

“As [WikiLeaks founder] Julian Assange has made crystal clear, the leaks did not come from the Russians,” former Ambassador Craig Murray wrote on his blog Monday morning, adding that he had direct access to the original source. “As I have explained countless times, they are not hacks, they are insider leaks — there is a major difference between the two …

Moreover, where the hacks originated had no real bearing on what they had revealed, which was that both the Democrat Party and failed Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton were corrupt.

“(I)f Hillary Clinton had not connived with the DNC to fix the primary schedule to disadvantage Bernie … had not received advance notice of live debate questions to use against Bernie … had not accepted massive donations to the Clinton Foundation and family members in return for foreign policy influence … had not failed to distance herself from some very weird and troubling people,” then perhaps she would have won, Murray added.

It felt as if the lightning-speed spread of this unconfirmed Russian hacker conspiracy among liberal media outlets was therefore nothing more than an attempt by liberal Democrats and their media sycophants to deflect blame for Clinton’s epic loss.

White workers at Power 105’s ‘The Breakfast Club’ radio show were victims of reverse racism, suit charges

White people are not welcome behind the scenes of Power 105’s “The Breakfast Club” radio show, a new lawsuit charges.

Four men who produced televised broadcasts of Howard Stern’s radio show say they were victims of reverse racism after being hired in Jan. 2014 to produce broadcasts of the popular syndicated morning show for Revolt TV, a music channel founded by Sean “Diddy” Combs.

The suit brought by Todd Baker, Douglas Goodstein, Richard Wilson, Michael Schiff and Jason Preziosi, alleges they were fired and replaced with “significantly younger and significantly less experienced or qualified African-Americans” after frequently being told they did not understand “the culture.”

The complaint charges that executives at Revolt TV, which televises the radio show on the hip-hop station Power 105, treated black employees differently than white ones.

Diddy’s Revolt TV sued for reverse discrimination

A production team for Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Revolt TV is suing the cable and radio network claiming reverse discrimination — saying they were fired for being old white men.

Douglas Goodstein and four producers, who’d previously worked for “The Howard Stern Show,” were hired by Revolt TV in January 2014.

The team produced its popular urban talk radio program “The Breakfast Club” that airs mornings on Power 105.1 FM.

But the producers, who are all white and over age 39, say they were “treated worse than other employees who were younger and African American.”

Executive Vice President Val Boreland “was always rude, condescending and dismissive towards the Goodstein Production Team,” the Manhattan civil suit claims.
