    The Irrelevance of Obama’s Religion

According to Islamic law, if your father is a Muslim, so are you, and once a Muslim, always a Muslim.

That fact has become relevant in the campaign for the Republican nomination for the presidency ever since Sen. Rick Santorum called into question Barack Obama’s religion when Santorum alleged the president was motivated by “some phony theology, not a theology based on the Bible” and also referred to Obama’s “radical Islamic policies.”

First of all, let’s stipulate that religion has no place in American politics–with one important exception: If someone has misstated his religion and misled the electorate, the issue becomes not one of religion but of truth and honesty.

Barack Hussein Obama’s Muslim father, Barack Hussein Obama, Senior, conferred his Islamic middle name, derived from Hussein Ibn Ali, the son-in-law of the Prophet Muhammad, on Barack Hussein Obama, Junior. At least in the eyes of Islam, our president is a Muslim, although he has said that “Hussein” is an African name and that he is a Christian.

The case should be closed but isn’t for a variety of reasons.

The president has said that his Kenyan father denied abandoned his Islamic faith before he abandoned his family. He was raised–in part–by his mother, Stanley Ann Dunham Obama, an atheist.

Much of his upbringing was provided by his maternal grandparents after his mother married another Muslim, Lolo Soetero, took her son with her to live his formative years in Muslim Indonesia where he attended a Wahabi school in Jakarta and ultimately turned young Barry over to her parents while she pursued her education and career.

All that abandonment had to have warped her child but none of the above proves Obama is a closet Muslim or a religious hypocrite who followed in his father’s footsteps by turning his back on Islam.

The president’s collegiate life is still cloaked in mystery although it is known that he had Muslim roommates and travelled to Indonesia during his years at Columbia University and subsequently visited his father’s Muslim family in Kenya. And, of course, he fondly wrote of dreams inherited from the Marxist father he resented for dumping his family but, again, none of that proves he is really a Muslim and not a Christian.

While a person’s religion should indeed have no bearing upon his / her ability to hold office, I would put forth one glaring exception. When a person’s religion has espoused a hatered of and violent intentions toward the American people and our founding principles, then that person’s religion becomes supremely relevent.
As to Mr. Obama’s Christian faith, only Gd knows for sure. We are left with only his words and actions. By now I know to reject anything he says and watch his actions. While those actions do not in themselves lead me to believe he is a devout muslim, I do feel confident that he is no Christian. His “church” of twenty some years was a “BLT” church, that is marxist theology parading as Christian theology. His recent prayer breakfast rant about his Christian faith shows that he has no grasp of the Gospels.
Finally, in my studies (we should always study our enemies) of islam, I learned that they consider it no sin to deny their faith in order to further its cause. By this I mean that man could deny his muslim faith and pretend to be a Christian in order th gain a place of power and influence so that he could then undermine the Christian comunity and better islam’s power and influence.
Is Mr Obama a muslim? I can’t say for sure. I do know that islam os at war with us ( and the entire western Judeo-Christian world) and Mr. Obama cant seem to find any fault with the islamic world. Sooooooo….

In Obama’s world, good is evil and evil is good. It’s no surprise that his “Christian” church is actually a Muslim church:

“Why should Reverend Wright’s past as Muslim concern us?

First, Reverend Wright’s hate sermons are virtually identical as those given by his good friend, Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, who followed in the footsteps of Malcolm X. For example, this description by Ben Wallace Wells, published in Rolling Stone—a magazine that favors Obama, most likely in serving the interests of their demographic–in February, prior to the release of the Wright videos, makes clear the connection:

Wright takes the pulpit here one Sunday and solemnly, sonorously declares that he will recite ten essential facts about the United States. “Fact number one: We’ve got more black men in prison than there are in college,” he intones.

“Fact number two: Racism is how this country was founded and how this country is still run!” There is thumping applause; Wright has a cadence and power that make Obama sound like John Kerry.

Now the reverend begins to preach. “We are deeply involved in the importing of drugs, the exporting of guns and the training of professional KILLERS. . . . We believe in white supremacy and black inferiority and believe it more than we believe in God. . . . We conducted radiation experiments on our own people. . . . We care nothing about human life if the ends justify the means!”

The crowd whoops and amens as Wright builds to his climax: “And. And. And! GAWD! Has GOT! To be SICK! OF THIS SHIT!…This is as openly radical a background as any significant American political figure has ever emerged from, as much Malcolm X as Martin Luther King Jr.”

  7. StanInTexas says:

Frank, it happens occasionally. And if you happen to live in the community where it occurs, and bother to read page 17 of the local newspaper closely enough, you might see it reported.

And what you will find is the CHRISTIAN being accused of intolerance, and lectured for not turing the other cheek. Also, the mythical “separation of church and state” will be thrown in to let the Christian know that they need to shut up about religion in the schools. And to help accelerate the beat-down, the Christian and their church will be named and targeted.

I keep hearing this theme repeated that this was some “brilliant” strategy on Obama’s part, that it will make Republicans “anti birth control” and he will clean up the female vote come November.

But wherever I go, what I keep seeing is these hardcore Democrat Catholics, disgusted to downright inflamed, not about birth control, rather that Obama would gleefully make tire tracks over the scalp of the church
He is forcing them to choose, it’s the church or me pal.
    So typical of a narcissist.
I have no doubt most of them will in the end re choose Obama, much in the same way that many petty tyrants around the world in power gather just enough support to keep an iron fist clenched.
But it is interesting to watch them snap out of their trances, if only for a fleeting moment.
    Bill and Jodie
What he admired about Rev Wright was that he created his OWN religion out of whole cloth.
Obama was in the front row alright, but instead of lapping up the sermons he was facing the other way, awestruck over how easily those sheep could be placed in a trance.
Obama is neither Christian or Muslim.
    And he is both

Mooseshell’s and the first daughters’ extravagant ski trip to Aspen can hardly be deemed “a shared sacrfice” but, hey who’s keepin’ track of her vacations anyway? White House Dossier–that’s who. Check out the what the Pitkin County Sheriff says. It’s an honor for Mrs. President to be spending tax payers’ money and to get away from her public life so she can live, well, more of her life in public. Yes, we all know how reclusive and retiring she is–she makes J.D. Salinger look like Richard Cory. And it only required seven deputies to provide the extra security.

  14. Jodie says:

    Hi Ghost,

You’re right that he is not a practicing Muslim. Although, it sounds to me like Reverend Wright IS teaching Islamic theology, with an emphasis on “social justice”. I wouldn’t be surprised if Reverend Wright uses a Koran to prepare for his sermons.

Obama thinks that he is a god. He believes that he is above any religion; however, his loyalties are always with Islam, as that is what he was taught from childhood – that and communism.

A big difference between evangelical Christian teaching and social justice teaching, is that Bible based Christian churches teach that Satan is the enemy. Social Justice churches teach that the Jews and white America are the enemy.

Why don’t you Americans riot more?

Riots are generally the approach that the left (collectivists) take. “Let’s get together and burn something” is, by its nature, collective.

    Conservatives don’t riot because:
    1. The own the businesses being burned by the rioters.
    2. They respect others’ property.
    3. They respect law enforcement.
    4. When it is time for the conservatives to get together and do something, they generally aren’t going to hold signs and yell slogans.
    5. The collectivists are in charge in the US. The OWS folks are actually protesting against their own kind.

It might also have something to do with the Christian upbringing of many conservatives, such as “love one another,” or “pray for your enemies.”

White House apologizes for burning of Muslim holy books in garbage pile at Afghanistan base

“Press secretary Jay Carney says it’s a “deeply unfortunate incident” and doesn’t reflect the respect the U.S. military has for the religious practices of the Afghan people.”

Note that Carney avoids the “M” word to describe Afghans.

“A Western military official said the Qurans were removed from a library at a nearby detention center because they contained extremist messages. Carney didn’t address those specifics, referring questions to defense officials.”

Just as an aside, stating that the Qurans contained extrimist messages…..isn’t that redundant?

It would help if someone would give me an example of anything from the Bible that they think is not accurate. It all makes sense to me and I have no doubt that every word of it is from God. If people are going to tell me I’m wrong, it would be nice if they would tell me where they think the errors are. My guess is that they just don’t understand something – or don’t WANT to believe it. I would love to explain it.

If not, I’ll just shake the dust off of my feet and go on to the next thread. It’s not about me anyway.
